Was closed when we were here but it’s absolutely beautiful. New York State sure knows how to take care of their parks. Restoration being done along the shoreline I find it very interesting. If you go make sure to take a walk along the beaches on both sides they are rocky but fun and beautiful.

Great place to check out if you are going to be in Montauk. Keep in mind that parking cost $8 and going up to the light house is $12. It is a great experience but better if the stairs going up to the light house was open. Check first before you arrive.

Great place to visit. Amazing views of the ocean and the lighthouse. We come here at least once a year since we live on Long Island. This time we hung out just below the top parking lot where there are picnic tables and BBQ pits. Very relaxing.

Amazing place to visit. It is definitely worth the drive. The views are breath taking and your pictures will come out spectacular. The entrance fee is $12 dollars or free if you're active or retired military. Additionally, active and retired military get 10% off at the gift shop.. NOTE: Make sure that you bring plenty of bug spray! (OR just wear long pants. The flies are aggressive!)

Excellent New York state park that has great views and the lighthouse museum. You pay for pairing which is also good for Camp Hero so keep the receipt. The lighthouse and museum are just across the road from the parking lot. There are many trails in the combined park areas so a good place for a hike if that's of interest. Great way to get away from the Hamptons.

Montauk State Park and the lighthouse are worth the drive. This trip is during the winter, so most of the stores and restaurants are closed for the season, however the horrific traffic through the Hamptons and other towns on the way out east was very light. The summer months will add an extra couple hours of travel time but the restaurants and shops are very nice to shop and frequent. The beaches are very nice to walk on and to sit and watch the waves break. Take a ride out and check out the sights, you will not be disappointed.

Nice location. It's a long drive out here. Nice history. Some short nature trails lead out to the ocean. Relatively easy rockhop around the entire lighthouse, which doesn't require any entrance fee, but also doesn't gain access to the grounds around the lighthouse.

When I visited the lighthouse was under construction. I still give it five stars because you don’t want to miss the views, the museum, and the history. Pay once for parking and you can park here and at Camp Hero State Park. See my review on Camp Hero. The staff were amazing. Knowledgeable and friendly. There are also public bathrooms.

What an incredible experience to do a road-trip to the Montauk Lighthouse. Being able to watch the sunset with the people I love is an experience I never want to trade for anything. I highly recommend this for anyone that just needs a get away and a way to escape the craziness of their busy life. There are quite a few towns around the area for food, gas, rest stops, etc.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lighthouse and scenery worth the drive. Cannot climb up the tower but still great museum. Can also take trail down to the coast but that portion is not paved. Have to pay to park and go into museum area. There is some construction going on.

Look at the lighthouse at the end of Long Island and the wide ocean of the Atlantic Ocean. Parking is free after 4 p.m. Instead, visiting the lighthouse museum is closed. Come and enjoy the wonderful nature

If you’re on LI, you have to get out here eventually. To be honest, driving all the way out to Montauk can be a pain. But the sights are worth it, and there’s so much to do along the way. We look forward to future trips with our kids when they’re big enough to head out for hikes!

The best time to visit is during the spring or the winter months, knowing not many people around and plenty of parking spots. Road leading to this park has improved over the years. Restrooms at the lighthouse are very clean. I am not sure why swings are removed.

A nice park which features the Montauk Lighthouse and Museum. We were able to take a stroll on to the beach and we walked on the rocks to get a good view of the bluffs, ocean and Lighthouse. Although the day was cloudy we were able to get great pics. This park is nice to walk and share with a loved one or friends.

I love going in the off season. I know that's not popular for out of towners that want the full experience as many things are closed. But I like the calm and no crowd.

Closed on weekdays in the off-season, so drove 2.5 hours to a closed gate 🤦🏼‍♀️. Still beautiful and a nice walk on the small beach. Would have loved to explore more but were pressed for time. Saw deer, turkeys, and various other birds.

northernmost tip of long island, definitely worth the trip! vast sea surrounds you on all 3 sides, and the lovely lighthouse stands just at the edge surrounded by mossy rocks. bummed that we missed the 4pm cutoff for touring inside, but the free coastline more than made up for it.

The surfcasters capital. Lots of natural beauty. You can easily get away from everyone. A 4x4 beach permit helps but there is plenty of walking access

A treasure of Long Island, if you live on Long Island you must come at least once. It’s fun to walk along the breakers that wrap around the point, though as of 2022 the path was closed due to lighthouse construction for some reason.

Awesome visit! So glad I came East this visit to NY! What a BEAUTIFUL part Of NY. Light House climb is currently down but the museum and grounds are open! Bar and grill on site as well! Seasonal Pumpkin brew is delicious!

Lighthouse was closed (Christmas holiday) but we were able to walk around on the paths a bit and get a great view of the lighthouse decorated for the holidays. We really enjoyed the views and the ride.

I advis eto call and make sure hours of operation and acess to the Lighthouse interior Easy parking and navigation to the Lighthouse. The museum had a lot of historical information that really enlightening me. The 137 steps to the top of the Lighthouse was quick. Just keep on mind the staircase is narrow and serves for both up and down. Take your time and you'll be fine.

A beautiful sightseeing place at the eastern most edge of New York. With a scenic lighthouse set against the backdrop of the ocean on one side and state park on the other. On a clear day you might be able to see tiny parts of Rhode Island on the northern horizon.

I made it a point to drive to the end of Long Island to Montauk Point! I didn’t find any Montauk monsters but instead discovered a gorgeous lighthouse which you can climb to the top for $15. Its worth the climb to see the interiors of the lighthouse. If only it wasn’t so far away! I do think the $8 parking was a rip off at this desolate location.

Lovely, beautiful must visit place, don't be in a hurry, walk around the place, see the light house, visit the museum, click pics, drop your feet in the water by the beach, have few drinks at the restaurant near the sea shore, walk in the market place , perfect holiday place

Loved the views! Friendly knowledgeable staff. Fair pricing. Have to pay for parking. Calming waves.

It was great trip. You could make a stop for night over and can go to the park next day early morning to see sunrise. We missed it. Historical Light house. One time visit is must to be at “end of the world”

Next to the Montauk lighthouse. A narrow path takes you the park and from then on to a rocky small beach called Montauk point. Good from some good clicks. Come early. Evenings get chilly.

This is my delayed review on this breathtaking place. Came here by LIRR from city to catch sunrise! Waiting in freezing cold until sunrise was so worth it. If you are planning on visiting here on New Years to catch 1st sunrise of the year, it is best to book hotel near by and just spend overnight before heading out early morning. We got to Montauk like 2-3AM by LIRR and had to find a cab that could drive us around until closer to sunrise time and drop us off at lighthouse parking lot. Regardless a lot of hassle to get there without car, it was so worth it!

Great family trip! Excellent time. You can walk up the steps to the top, take a golf cart ride up the hill to the museum, and light house. Restaurant on site, gift shop, restrooms, and a picnic area with playground.

Beautiful scenery, fresh air, sweet floral scents everywhere, and excellent food nearby. It is an amazing spot for activities also. Multiple trails, boating, surfing, and the list goes on. I live on the other side of the island, but the drive was totally worth it, go visit Montauk.

We got there after it closed but it was still worth the ride. We watched some surfers for a bit. I wonder what the guard tower in front of the lighthouse is for. It’s a beautiful lighthouse and lovely park with walking trails to the water.
