Ketcham Inn

Tourist attraction β€’ Historical landmark

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Visited with my dad last weekend and was lucky enough to get a tour from Bert Seides. Fascinating to learn the history of Long Island back to the pre- Revolutionary War days. This house was restored plank by plank and it really gives you a sense of how people lived hundreds of years ago. People often mention history, Bert, Ketcham, books,

A true gem and a fantastic piece of Long Island’s local heritage.. Many thanks to all those involved in the restoration of this building and the keeping of its history.. Stop in on a Saturday or Sunday to get a taste of the past and pick up some knowledge from the wonderful people who take care of this property!!

Great historical place to visit. They also have a well stocked inexpensive book store to generate funds for restoration of this 17th century way/public house.

I would like to say at the outset of this review it will be long. First and foremost what a wonderful experience we had at the Ketcham Inn! My wife and I took our wedding photos within the Ketcham Inn and around the grounds, truly an excellent experience and the photos look splendid!! Bert was a pleasure to deal with to discuss our ideas and plans for the Inn, he went above and beyond our expectations. The gorgeous seasonal decorations were popular conversation piece, as well as the charming rustic feel of the Ketcham Inn. The temperature outside was 25 degrees, Bert had both of the fireplaces going to keep the inn at a cozy temperature. Truly, the members of both of our respective families were impressed with the rich history and atmosphere of the Ketcham Inn. Also, Bert provided refreshments and beverages during the photo session and the staff dressed in traditional 18th century outfits which was an enjoyable touch. Further, the staff was cooking the food in a traditional 17th century stove. In closing, if you are in need of an area to take wedding photos, have a private event, enjoy a private dinner with friends and family, want to learn about the rich history of the American Revolution and history of the eastern part of Long Island please meet Bert and visit the Ketcham Inn, truly a gem on Long Island! If you are in need of books and records please go to the Ketcham Inn. Bert, you and your volunteers gave my wife and I an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives thank you so much for the beautiful venue and the excellent service.

Massive, almost library sized collection of used, for sale books. I have actually gotten some impressive and unique books from here. The pictures I provided are actual finds from the place and in total cost me about 15 dollars!

Such a great selection of books. Offers a calm atmosphere for choosing. When you go inside to pay the lady is so nice and she really loves the place, she will tell you all about the history. Only downside is some books are super overpriced.

An amazing piece of local history dating back to the late 17th century. The programs there are a nice up close and personal experience. I'm looking forward to stopping by more.

A historical gem. Mary Field is a knowledgeable & devoted docent. Visit. Stop in the barn. Buy some used books. Support the museum.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Beautiful memorial to Flight 800 and the souls lost on that flight. Wonderful park for kids to play in. And to top it off you can go sit and relax by a beautiful pond. Great place to picnic. There are bathrooms available! In the summer a ice cream truck always comes through about mid-day. In the fal...
