Awesome place for a walk! I went on Christmas Day so not to many people, not sure how it is normally. Lots of little stops with platforms and benches. Bring bird seed and at the end of the trail that leads to the beach the birds will land and eat out of your hand. There’s a kiosk that demands 4 bucks for parking but it was solar powered and it was cloudy out not sure how to pay them 🤓

Wonderful park! We enjoyed watching birds and wild animals. Such a variety of birds !!! You will definitely see red cardinals, swans, herons, turkeys, chipmunks and hares.

$4 parking fee or $12 yearly pass. I was in the area visiting for 2 months & came here at least 6 different times. It is a nature oasis like nothing I have ever visited before. I felt like Snow White walking through with the different birds landing on me. Tranquility at its finest. 10/10 recommend.

Beautiful and quiet place. Small parking lot with pay kiosk. $4 for a car. Not crowded at all even on a weekend. People come to hand feed birds. Not a lot of walking so good with small children. There is a beach and observation deck at the end.

A short walk, a beautiful wavy beach, cute birds that you can feed out of your hand (not the turkeys), chipmunks, and deer. We had a great day there!

Two nice walking trails. One goes to the beach, where we caught the sunset. We saw deer, and lots of birds that people where feeding from their hands.

It was my 2nd time to the refuge. First time was in the spring when there were many birds flying around. This time was Thanksgiving and there were very few. The wildlife was limited to a couple gray squirrels and some winter birds. We were able to get our 'Christmas' family pictures taken on the beach and then have some chickadees come sit on our grandchildren's fingers to get a quick treat. Win-win at the refuge regardless of what time of year!!

A beautiful nature preserve! A walking trail to the beach, Jessup’s Point. Many wild birds, turkeys and hawks. ADA bathrooms close to the parking lot. The trail is a bit less wheelchair friendly, but doable.

A beautiful wooded trail that leads straight to the beach! Keep your eyes peeled for critters; odds are you'll see plenty of birds, chipmunks, and turkeys!

Beautiful park. It is recommended not to feed the wildlife. Beautiful trails and beaches.

I love this refuge; a thirty minute stroll to the beach can easily turn to a couple hours if you bring proper bird feed! Don't leave any seeds behind though, it can attract rats.

What a gem! We brought pine nuts with us and got to feed the birds. The kids loved it. You can easily spends two hours here and feel like you’re so far away in touch with nature.

Awesome nature preserve where chickadees will eat right out of your hands. Wild turkeys, chipmunks and deer roam freely in preserve. Also has two paths that lead to the Long Island Sound.

Great local wildlife preserve. Drop a few dollars in the donation box to park, and take a relaxing nature walk down to the beach. If you bring nuts/bird feed you can feed many types of birds right out of your hand.

Wonderful park! We've been there a few times and it's always beautiful. It's a nice walk to the beach (appx. 20 minutes or so, depending on your pace) and today we saw a bunch of birds, chipmunks, deer, and even a fox! We enjoy ours visits here. It's free to visit but you pay a few bucks for parking. They have restrooms, picnic tables, and water fountains on site.

Quiet and easily accessible. Private parking lot with a gate that closes at sunset, but don't worry it automatically opens and let's you get out. Great beach and very few people. Inexpensive parking lot for the location.

Peaceful as can be. The relative short trail makes it easy to do several laps and along the way you are likely to see some awesome wildlife! If you are going for photography, early morning is great because there is less human traffic and more wildlife... the downside is that the sun is to the east and is often back-lighting a lot of the wildlife. Don't forget to pay for parking!

👍👍 Most people prefer the ocean beaches but with the Atlantic cold until August this beach is a very good option to enjoy a swim without turning into an ice cube. Can be busy in summer but the beach is so wide that it never feels crowded. Great sunsets!
