Really enjoyed lack of humans there. Locker rooms are really well designed. Other ymca need to learn from this place.(east hampton ymca has midget size lockers that dont lock). Nice equipment, no people, warm water in pool. Yea! 84f vs freezing water in east hampton and patchogue ymca. Cant beat that! State of the art prison style showers(will add picture) make you feel alert and give you sence of adventure. Soap on a roap comes to mind. And best part was i pulled my back while lifting cause looked away, at girl running, lost balance and now i get week off of work! This place is a blast. Definately coming back!

It would be so much better if they would keep an eye on the children. Kids can be real cruel, say mean things and just be bullies especially on the basketball court and i got a membership here so my son can exercise, play basketball, and to help him on his weight loss journey. I wanted a positive experience. Although he is not letting what they say get to him I know it still bothers him. Please staff be mindful of the things that goes on. Bullying should never be tolerated. In school as well as in programs such as the Y. Tell the parents and stop being so passive with the interaction of Children/teenagers. But other than that the front desk evening staff is quite nice.

One of my main complaints is the basketball courts are overcrowded. At times my son has to wait thirty minutes on a very long line. The Y should consider building an extension of another basketball court. The workers should not kick everyone from the courts so that that can play against each other. Don't bother to bring anything valuable because it may get stolen.

I want to be clear. I like the staff that works with the children but the front desk is not good. Things seem to be unorganized and they give out the wrong information. Melany Knows what she is doing and I like her program and she also knows how to talk to people. The front desk staff don’t know the systems work. My complain is about Sandy Lena. I just had a conversation with Sandy Lena and she was extremely rude to me and yelled at me on the phone because her system is so primitive, I was complaining to her about the fact that the girls at the front desk told me I was enrolled in automatic payments when it turns out that I am not and it has to be redone every school year when I finally tracked down Sandy Lena on the phone after 3 days of calling her and 2 voice messages she said to me that I have to go back to the front desk and complained to me about going on and on about the situation, horrible customer service and a huge lack of professionalism. I am pretty much begging them to get me credit card information setup and they are treating me worse than someone who doesn’t pay on time. At least I have google to record someone’s mistreatments. I hope someone coaches Sandy Lena and the front desk staff. I guess I have to go back to the front desk and deal with this again and let them know that “Sandy Lena said to refund my late fee because they made a mistake” ohhh what a nice primitive customer service. I am being bounced back and forth for a payment.

I had the HONOR of visiting the Y again yesterday with the Bay Shore Lions. I say Honor because being a Bay Shore resident and living right around the corner- I felt I knew all about the programs the Y had to offer. Boy was I wrong!!! I learned that the Y offers a program for Teenagers on Saturday nights that averages 240 Teens a night! These teens can attend there free of charge and take classes to keep them off the street for free. They offer them classes to become Summer Camp counselors. They have a Swimming Program called the Eye Insight Program which is for those losing their sight or blind. They have senior exercise classes- which becomes a daily routine to seniors to not only make them healthier- but gives them purpose to get up every day! Their Summer Camp Scholarship Program allows over 200 kids from low income families to have a place to go all day while their parents can go to work.... The list of community driven programs to serve the less fortunate is awe inspiring. This is not just a local gym- it is a giving organization that finds a need in the community and fills it! Kudos to you Bay Shore Y- I couldn't be prouder to have you as a resource to our community!

I've been at the gym here for a week and I really liked it, the people are friendly, it's very well equipped and it's quite clean. Between 11am and 3pm, it doesn't get very busy so you have many options in the machines. Next week I'm going to start joining the pool, which is included in the membership.

Bummer. I like the idea and offerings but the service was awful. Plus they never reopened the theatre, such a shame.

The staff at the bayshore side are unhelpful, with no customer service, they don't care about the customer, I was about to get my son to go there for 7 weeks and the lady on the desk was so rude that I just change my mind.

The variety of times provided for swimming is great when you have multiple kids. We have always been able to found a class at the same time and day for each of them. The staff are all kind and lighthearted making it fun for 3 and 6 year olds.

Excellent place to exercise, and different sports to share with the family, very clean and organized. Our family is very grateful for the help that YMCA gives us in the training of our children in the sports and recreational area. We still remain affiliated with said institution. We must all take care of it.

I find it a very friendly, very encouraging environment and I totally enjoy working out with Maria. The facility is spotless, the equipment in great running order, and I find it meets my needs very well.

Moving or visiting from another state ? Our experience from Orlando YMCA and Dr Phillips YMCA administration works with people income to grant them help so they can attend and be part of the community with smiles and kindness ,if your coming from Florida don't expect the same quality assurance from this YMCA Bayshore Board.👎

If you want your kids to run around aimlessly without direction or guidance than this program is for you! Both of my kids went to the after school program for two years. It took two years of my kids constantly getting hurt and phone calls about how they bumped their heads and other kids hurting my kids before i said enough is enough. The staff doesn't understand the kids homework. So most of the time the kids homework is done incorrectly. Every time I went to pick up my kids the staff was huddled around the tables talking while the kids are left to their own devices. After an incident with another child where my son was made to feel like he was a bad person because the lady handled the situation by yelling and screaming at him I had enough! I spoke to the director of the program and after stating he understood what I was saying and he apologized to me he still didn't do anything to solve the situation at hand leading me to pull both my kids from this unsafe and harmfully toxic environment. Parent you have been warned! Do not waste your money!

Mostly I just swim now, but I have also held my son's birthday parties at the Y and he did all his swimming lessons there when he was younger. I like the friendly atmosphere, the people I meet, the friendly staff, the location, and the connection with the local community. I see the Y as a positive force for a lot of people and am glad to be a part of that!

GSB YMCA offers a wide variety of programs and services all day into the evening, including weekends! As a relatively new member, I appreciate the opportunities available for children, adults and seniors. The facilities are clean and staff have been very friendly and helpful with all of my questions. The YMCA is an experience, not just a gym. Aquatic center is amazing, with classes for children adults and seniors. Gym has everything you need to work out. I especially like the programs offered for Cancer survivors and Arthritis program. My family have been scheduling our week around programs offered at the YMCA. Lastly, it took a very short time to realize why members seem to look and feel so happy! My immediate impression remains, “ People at the Y are having fun, at all ages and stage of life”.
