This is a solid 2 star hotel. The staff at the front counter are not friendly and look like they don't want to be there. We upgraded to a king suite, and the only thing nice about the room was the bed. The tub shower was very small, and the shower head was installed too low, so I had to bend down to get my hair wet. The breakfast that's included was OK. The indoor pool was useless, the water was very cold, and the filtration system wasn't working. It's an outdated building inside and out. For the price we may go elsewhere next time. It's not a terrible experience.

Very unexpected surprise in the warm welcome and obliging staff. Went over and beyond in their help for our stay. Clean and quiet giving a good nights sleep. Good breakfast provision from the dining manager, ensuring that the food was fresh and available. Only difficulty was the height of the beds which requires some athletics as we are not tall of agile. This is not unusual in NY as was also our experience in Manhattan, though Bar Harbour is better value for money overall.

The breakfast has a very nice display, we got to know one of the employees who handles it, Paula, and she is the best! My young son stayed w me for a long time period there and she always made sure he had his favorite cereal in the morning! So nice. The front desk were helpful as well! I did purchase my own mini fridge to bring here, that was the only downside. Most hotels have them already but that’s okay. The pool also was nice, seemed clean but you don’t smell chlorine lol and it was cold but my 8 year old loved it and that was mainly why I picked this place. You can go wrong for how inexpensive it is and has breakfast and the pool! It worked for us and Thankyou to all the staff who went an extra mile !

I would never stay here again. The staff is rude, the indoor swimming pool is always cold (stayed here in summer and in the fall), the room needs more lighting and in one room, the lock didn't work. In another room, the sink had issues, so it's going to be one thing or another with your room. I didn't have any issues with mold, but it's scary that others are reporting that. Don't stay for the pool. There are no towels there or in the small gym. They really seem to not want you to use either of them.

I booked this hotel via hotels.com .as we were moving all day and all our furniture was on its way to our new home in Florida The hotel was unauthorized to take payment until check in . They took payment and then when I went to che k in wanted full payment .. again saying I never paid for room . It was 10 pm when I got there to begin with . They tried to say they never took payment abs blame it on hotels.com made me spend time on the phone first with them when the charge was made by BEST WESTERN .. and then on the phone with corporate to be treated rudely and basically told they couldnt check their own transaction numbers abs to dispute it with my credit card company and tat I has to repay .. needless to Say we left and went tk the Marriott . The hotel was sketchy to begin with.. lots of shady characters .. very u comfortable that this place is actually in my own home town .

I booked a hotel block for my daughter’s wedding. I dealt with Cathy and she was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The problem was dealing with anyone else. They were uninformed or just yessed me and didn’t follow through. I had approximately 80 guests booked for one or two days. I called a couple of times asking how welcome bags would be distributed and was assured they had it under control. I left a welcome bag for each guest of ours. After hearing from the first arrivals that they did not receive their bags I called again to remind them. Well, I just picked up the bins the bags were in and found approximately 60 bags still there. I handmade many items in these bags, As well as purchasing other items, plus they included valuable shuttle information the guests needed. I was very disappointed. The amount of time and money I spent on these bags was mostly wasted. It was totally unacceptable. This lack of professionalism spanned many work shifts so I can’t blame it on one forgetful employee. It was widespread. Also, some guests said some rooms were very dated.

We loved the place. The reason for the 4 stars is the room could use updating. Maybe a mini fridge. It was near the railroad, stores etc. They have breakfast which was excellent! I enjoyed the choices of eggs with either bacon, or sausage. Waffle station, coffee, espresso, latte, juices, cereal, yogurt, cereal bars, toast, muffins. The room has a coffee pot, and a hair dryer. Overall , the price was reasonable, and loved the place.

If you can afford to stay somewhere better then do it! What you get:, a huge, sagging bed with pillows that feel like they're full of old rags. A room that REEKS of weed, despite being non-smoking. Very nice staff and a good (for American hotel breakfasts) (hot sausage, eggs, frozen breakfast sandwiches, full size apple turnovers) breakfast. Good pressure shower. No, I would never stay here again and I do not recommend it

Top End accommodations for the right price. Breakfast was great, well stocked. Very clean rooms although furniture dated but in good shape. TV new. Check in with Joshua was smooth and he was very helpful with area dinner choices. Everyone was professional and now I have a new place to stay when I visit. Thanks.

It's ok for a weekend stay. More like a motel than a hotel. Since every room faces the parking lot you can hear when people drive in and out... Service was great! We were moved to a room further down the building and higher up as a way to try to minimize the sound of cars driving in and out.

Room was nice, but the lack of staff to remove nails/screws in the driveway to the hotel was not acceptable. We should not have to clean this potential safety hazard up ourselves. Get better best western. P.s. Also please be careful outside, not a safe area. Homeless person asking for money and cigarettes.

This hotel is completely run down. Mold in the tub, beds are so uncomfortable you can feel the springs and they squeak with every toss and turn, stains and cracks on the walls, floors are falling apart. Room had an odor. We could not afford other hotels in the area or we would of walked out. Absolutely terrible. This is the lowest quality hotel for a best western. Will definitely not do a best western again.

What a wonderful, quaint place! My son and I found it quite by accident and was only staying for one night! However, after being treated so nicely at the front desk and enjoying the most delicious, breakfast, prepared by Donna, we stayed an extra day! The gentleman working the night we checked in deserves a raise! He rides a bicycle to work! Sorry I didn’t get his name! How kind and professional he was. Donna keeps that food hot and delicious! Clean rooms! Perfect stay.

It was a very nice stay, The room was extremely clean, you can ask for as much soap and towels as you want, there's a free breakfast with actual eggs bacon and waffles with a high quality coffee cappuccino machine. There is a pool laundry room and a gym I couldn't ask for anything more plus it's close to the train station.

I love the place. It’s generally very clean and the staff is great. The negative I have is in this day and age no refrigerator or microwave. That’s the only reason I’m not staying on my next trip. I’ve had to throw away a lot of restaurant leftovers because the hotel has no option to store or reheat it.

Clean comfortable rooms. All the staff were friendly, everyone from the front desk people to the maintenance person in the hallway. Breakfast was good, scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, assortment of breads/bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit. The bacon was a bit odd; there were some very cooked, crispy pieces and then some almost undercooked pieces. All was hot and replenished often. The eggs were surprisingly flavorful compared to most hotel breakfasts.

Great experience! This hotel, and our room, were spacious, very clean, and quiet. We requested and received a disabled-access room which had wide doorways and grab bars in the bathroom. An elevator is available--no climbing up and down stairs. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of offerings including eggs, bacon, bagels, crumb cake (my favorite!), waffles, etc. Tables were wiped down with cleanser frequently. We enjoyed the coffee machine which offered fresh and delicious lattes, cappuccinos, etc.and 24-hour availability. We were there for my mother's funeral and so I particularly appreciated the friendly, knowledgeable, and kind staff. It was a wonderful place to stay at and we look forward to returning soon!

Friendly service at the desk. Rooms are a little dated, but it was in a good location for what we needed to do and was super easy to get in and out of. Can’t complain and would stay here again.

We had a great stay at this location. Kathie was super helpful in getting us great info to ride the rail into Penn Station and enjoyed a really fun evening in New York. This hotel is located a short walk to the Massapequa Park LIRR station. Breakfast was great. Overall value for the stay was great. Safe neighborhood to stay. We hope to return and explore more in the area when we have more time.

Always always clean. Comfy beds. Because it is a cheap price point you get a shady person around here once in a while and i’ve seen issues brought to their attention in the lobby and they don’t wanna get involved but parking lot is lit and doors double look. The manager here, i think she is, very short blonde hair is always friendly.

Awesome service!! I had an issue with the booking company i had used which was very frustrating, Kathy and Michelle were awesome and understanding to my dilemma as the company booked me for 2 weeks out as aposed to the night i requested. Kathy and Michelle were able to get me into a room with no issues they were VERY nice amazing service! Thank you both very much for making a bad experience into a better one.

The mold smell was so bad I almost had an asthma attack. I had to use my emergency inhaler. I have lots of pics to proff everything I say. The t.v. was broken the remote would not work properly. The internet kept going in and out. The floors where so dirty I ran out of socks so had to ware my shoes if I was not on the bed. I moved the bed and the huge hole where the mold smell was the strongest had broken wires and mold and dust growing. The bed smelled like mold and was so uncomfortable. The mold in the bathroom was not good. The room felt moist. It's was a very noisy stay as well but that didn't even bother me as much as how un sanitary it was. We had to prepare for a funeral and we were so tired. Code inforcment and the health department needs to go through all them rooms. I feel like that mold could have killed me. I am now on medication to clear this out all that mold I inhaler from the hotel room.

What a wonderful hotel. It's certainly not the fanciest place, but it was the best one we stayed at during our week long trip. We stayed 4 nights, which we ended up booking last minute due to a schedule change. The staff was wonderful, especially Donna. She was the highlight of our entire trip. The sweetest person ever who went well above and beyond for our kids. The rest of the staff were great too. The rooms were great, with comfy beds, fridge, tv, etc. Breakfast was good, but needed more sausage and less bacon 😁. The value cannot be understated. Please stay here for the staff alone, if not for the great prices and good location.

The hotel met our needs. Gym could use an upgrade with cleaning cloths and water. Lobby has multi beverage machine with great hot chocolate but capaccino had sugar in it. No half and half- just skim milk at breakfast. Powdered eggs- yuck.

Our room (243) was dated and had a serious humidity problem. Sheets were wet when we checked in and all of our stuff soaked up moisture from the room. It smelled like someone had been smoking inside the room at some point. If we had been staying more than one night we would have asked to move to a different room. Beds are not that comfortable.

I don't know how this hotel is still running. The rooms are outdated, the rooms smell most of the staff are rude, I asked a Spanish housekeeper for service she didn't understand me and was very dissmive to me. Maybe your should hire better staff.

Front desk attendant Kat was wonderful. She was very helpful and made our stay a pleasant one. We were in town for a funeral, not only were we tired but extremely emotional. Kat made sure we were taken care of. Thank you again for your hospitality.

How is this place a best western? First of all there is no fridge at all in this place when we got to the room the remote control was missing so we went to go get one the girl at the front desk was rude! Like she was bothered we asked she said we have no maintenance men until tomorrow try playing with the wire there's no microwave the breakfast was terrible house keeping came in and only fixed half of the room we had gift cards they could not honor them for paying almost 600 I would expect way better it was a waste of money I would not recommend this hotel at all

We had a great experience. From when i first booked the hotel, the man i spoke to was extremely helpful and patient with me and all my questions. Smooth and quick check in and check out. Everyone we dealt with was nice. The breakfast was great. I was suprised by all the food options they had. The location was perfect for us for this trip since everywhere we needed to go was in the Massapequa and Farmingdale area. Room was clean and AC worked great. We stayed in the hotel section so had a fridge which came in handy. Will definitely stay here again!

I came here after leaving a bad hotel experience for a Jones Beach vacation. The rooms are nice, wood floors, coffee maker, TV. The hotel has a pool and gym and continental breakfast every morning. I am leaving on Saturday and then coming back to an AirBnB next Saturday for 10 nights. Part of me wants to just stay here another week. The staff was very helpful at check-in. It's not the Ritz Carlton but I like it. It's a smoke free hotel and environment. Respect your fellow guests. I stayed on the top floor and used the stairs. A/C was working great during the heatwave. Thanks to the staff for accommodating my change in reservation and letting me stay longer.

Do not stay here. Terrible. Lady at the front was so rude and had a terrible attitude for no reason, this was during check in and check out. Tv remote didn’t work at all and we couldn’t even change the channel because of it. Then housekeeping proceeding to just walk in our room at 9am when check out isn’t till 11, I said we weren’t ready and then she tried to just come back in literally 5 minutes later. Would never recommend, I’d rather spend way more then stay here.

Been here a couple times so far. It's clean, staff is friendly, the free breakfast is a bonus. Very accessible to many stores and restaurants. Great hotel and great price! Thank you!

The first room I was allocated was room 232, which is on the outside. You have to carry your suitcases upstairs not a big deal for me. I’m pretty athletic. The room however, smelled of mold. I do not have asthma, but felt like I was going to have an asthma attack. It tightened up my lungs. I couldn’t stay there. I called the hotel operator which was the lady at the front desk and was told to come back down. When I got to the front desk. Her words to me were, “ do you think I go in every room to see what it smells like?” I was kind of shocked by her comment, but did not say anything, she then continued with. I will change your room and put me in an inside room number 203 that room did not have a smell to it however, I feel that the cleanliness of the room, the coffee maker had dust on it just the overall cleanliness was mediocre. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Besides the courteous staff and rapid response/attentiveness to any of my concerns or requests, the breakfast is top notch for a grab and go style meal. My trips are all about activities and this allows me to grab snacks and stay out for the day until I have a nice bed to come back to. Simple is essential and this best western does it well.

We stay here when visiting family in the area and have always had a good experience. This isn't a luxurious place so if you are looking for that, this isn't your place. Rooms are clean, staff is pleasant, breakfast is great. 24-hour coffee is nice! Pool and fitness room are a great bonus. We have never had a bad experience here.

  • 4/5 Donna M. 1 year ago on Google
Pleasantly surprised. The room was cleaned every day. The room was smaller than I expected and the curtains still let some light into the room. Definitely better than some of the other places I stayed and the price was reasonable. I’ll be back.
