Im not a fan of captive animals, this in order to entertain humans. We are so cruel. Putting these creatures in a small prison next to the door to their freedom! Though the entry was free, we visited for a 10 minute and the dolphin seemed well treated.

Great place to see dolphins up close. If you're not snorkeling or diving and just want to be able to see dolphins doing tricks and up close, there is an observation area and free entry. My kids loved it, great experience!

Fantastic family experience. Lots of hands on with Telsa and Sherlock. The team did a great job working with our special needs son and let him have the same experience as everyone else. He said "I have finished my bucket list" after having the dolphins pull him through the water. The pics are pricey, but how many times do you swim with the dolphins? A must do for the family.

My brother and I went here and chose the private swim with the dolphin experience. It was a dream come true for me. We were able to dance with and get kisses from the dolphins. Two dolphins pulled me as I hung onto their dorsal fins. Following that they used their rostrums on the bottom of my feet to push me out of the water. We also purchased the photo package to capture our experience. I only wish the experience lasted longer and we could free swim with the dolphins but it was still an unbelievable experience. I would do it again. I am glad we captured our experience with the photography package. The photos could have been better (photo and frame composition skills were lacking) but we were able to get a couple good shots from those that were taken.

The experience was 5/5; but giving only 4 stars because of the price of photos. No cameras or phones are allowed during your experience which makes sense because you need both hands and our personal devices don’t belong in the water with these beautiful animals. They have photographers and they took decent shots, but the prices were very high. Roughly $40 for 1 picture. $80 for all pics of just 1 person; 2 people was $140 for all pics and it went up from there for more people in the group. Wasn’t expecting to pay so much for the pictures on top of prepaying for the excursion through my cruise line.

This is 100% commercial project and made to pump money out of tourists. Sorry to say but worst money/value ratio. A bit strange that the entire sales team is Spanish speaking. Dolphins are so nice and cute and you can watch them for free. But there is the dirtiest water I have ever seen in delphiniums! Once you decided to swim with dolphins they got you on the hook! The routine is starting with dressing everyone in life vests and walking for photo sessions with parrots. Nice, right? Then they take people to the farthest pool from the visitor place so you can barely see what is happening. I will return to this moment later. When you are buying a tour you select a type and number of interactions. In real life you will have a group of people, instructors and dolphins. Each interaction is about 2 seconds when the dolphins do tricks - pulling you, pushing, etc. Whatever you paid for. For 2 people it cost us about $300. Remember I told you about pictures with parrots? After everything is over they will try to sell you your pictures for $70 per person or $130 for 2. This is for pictures only, no video. Here is the deal - my pictures have value for me only and they are not like a souvenir which could be purchased by another person. I was ready to pay $50 for pictures for 1 person but your guys declined this offer. As a result you have pictures with 0 value for you but not my money. If you are looking to see dolphins - this is the place. Are dolphins happy here - not sure. The water is cloudy so there is no or not enough filtration. Dolphins poop I guess a lot and you will swim in it. Go across the street to see and swim with turtles. Way better organized zoo!

BE AWARE! Dolphins are a beautiful experience but the customer service experience in this place is TERRIBLE! You can see a lack of communication between the sales management, dolphin trainer, and photographer. Prices of the pictures are only provided verbally. The “special offer” ends up in you paying so much more money than you expected, for less than they promised you. Personally, me and my spouse paid $109 each one through Disney cruise, which offers a full swimming with dolphins and genuine bracelets provided by the team tour at the port before boarding the tour bus that will take us to the dolphin location. Once we got to the Discovery Dolphin location, the team tour claimed that there is a “special offer” that Disney cruise is not aware about. The “special offer” is $140 extra dollars that we had to pay at the Dolphin Discovery place before the swimming activity with dolphins starts. The $140 “special offer” includes a last minute orange generic bracelet, a package of digital pictures taken during the activity, plus a “Royal Swimming Upgrade” that gives you the opportunity of extra and different types of swimming with dolphins in comparison with the rest of the group of customers that didn’t pay for the “special offer”. The prices were always told by a few employees verbally, and they were charging $45 for ONLY ONE picture, and of course it makes you think that is less outrageous to pay the “full package”. Me and my spouse concluded: “this prices are extremely expensive, pictures are more expensive than the actual booked activity”, but we really wanted to keep a good memory of our first time experience interacting with dolphins. We noticed a constant “confusion” from the employees at Dolphin Discovery during their time filling up our receipt with a pen, writing down the amount of $170 instead of the $140 that they mentioned. Me and my spouse had to correct the employee 5 TIMES while by “confusion” he was writing the wrong amount in the handwritten receipt. Once the handwritten receipt was finally filled up with the “right” amount, they asked us to go inside of the office and pay for the “special offer”. Once inside the office the sales manager Sandra, took the handwritten receipt from us, charged us $140 and gave us ONLY the receipt that the credit card machine prints when you paid through the terminal. All this behavior from the employees, is something that I categorized as sketchy. During the activity, the dolphin trainer was very bossy and very rude to me for no reason! I thought he was just having a bad day or maybe he was hungry and so in a bad mood. Photographer never mentioned to the dolphin trainer about the “special offer” package that me and my spouse already paid, even when we were the only two people in the group who paid for it and were wearing an extra bracelet. During the activity, me and my spouse realized that we were getting nothing special than the rest of the group during our activity. There was a boogie board swimming that my spouse and the rest of the the group did except for me. I told the dolphin trainer that I was missing a ride and abruptly he answered me: “no, you aren’t missing anything, it was a mistake that your spouse got the boogie board swimming”. I asked him why am I paying extra then? The dolphin trainer answered: “I don’t even know, my job is training dolphins”. Sebastian, the photographer was very rude as well, claiming that he is just a photographer and he didn’t know what were the sales office charging me. I was paying more and receiving less. I was upset because I felt: scammed, discriminated, and mocked. Sara, the sales manager was offering me a couple rides with the dolphins and with a more decent mood trainer as a compensation for the money that I already paid, but honestly it was so awkward enjoying anything in that place after this unpleasant issue. I would rather to obtain a full refund because this unpleasant situation ruined my whole experience and created a negative memory out of something that I was looking for to be special.

I would not recommend this place to tourists. I rather have went to the turtle conservatory across the street. I also felt the water was murky and smelled bad. I read their responses to other reviews stating the same thing. Their response is that it’s up to standards with the island. Maybe do better? It had algae where you stand in the water. It smelled like fish. Photos are expensive. If you’re not willing to pay $70 per person for pictures on top of how much you paid for the excursion, you will leave the place with no photo memories whatsoever. They make you put your phones away. The lady also said we can’t put sunscreen on because it’s not good for the dolphins. We were never told this in advanced and also the sun was very strong. Our skin was burnt by the end of it. It’s crazy to force people to not wear any sunscreen at all. The dolphins were cute of course and very intelligent. I felt bad for them being in this enclosure. I also wish the place educated us more about the dolphins on the island and that there was some emphasis on dolphin conservation.

If you have an eco-conscious bone in your body, don’t bother. We booked the Dolphin Swim as a shore excursion through Celebrity Cruises. I have rarely been more disappointed in the experience provided. This is at best a grab for tourist dollars. The dolphin experience was ok, although there is zero authentic interaction with the dolphin or the trainer. Simply an opportunity to take photos of you which they then rush you through to screens (don’t even let you get changed out of wet clothes) and then charge exhorbitant prices for - USD45 per person for digital photos!!!! And if you want a group photo they charge extra for that as well. Oh, what about one printed photo? That’s USD45 each. We left feeling ripped off and confused about the eco conservation aspects of the centre. No information was given about the dolphins’ history or provenance, or about any rehabilitation program or welfare. This really is the old school “trick dolphin” centre. Move into the 21st century. Seriously.

The dolphin experience itself was very cool. the staff was really nice. However, the photographers shielding family members from any views and the price gouging is very off-putting. The hard sell to by the photographer made me not want to buy any out of spite. They really made a great experience tarnished.

The staff are professional & informative. The dolphins were sweet & and professional, too. 😀 We all enjoyed the experience. The only complaint would be that we posed as a group for the photographer, but there was no image when we were ready to leave. We were told at the kiosk that he probably deleted it.

We stopped here on a local tour just to take some pictures and look at the dolphins, which you can do all for free! And they have a nice a little souvenir shop, plus the turtle center is right across the street! It's a nice little place right next to the water.

Despite a few negative reviews had to try this experience on our trip to Grand Cayman! 100% recommend!!!! Our trainer Pepe was amazing!! We had beautiful Sherlock (our dolphin) all to ourselves (family of 4) and Pepe told us so many cool facts about her! He made sure we were comfortable and had fun!! What an experience riding on her belly and getting to interact with her. Dolphin kisses and getting to hear her communicate was so cool! What a once in a lifetime experience! Def recommend the swim ride even if you are nervous, you won't regret it!! Sherlock was so sweet and gentle and we got to spend plenty of time with her. Make sure you take advantage of purchasing the photos/videos, 100% worth it!! Makes me sad that ppl write negative reviews about dirty water/poor conditions/being rushed/getting 2 min with the dolphins/photos being too expensive. Was not like that at all. Also we went on a day when the cruise ships weren't there so it wasn't crowded at all. It was very peaceful and an experience we'll never forget!! (if you want the videos it's an extra $15 per person but totally worth the memories!) Start to finish everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Can't recommend this experience enough!!

Wonderful experience to get close to dolphins. Three different packages from just encounter to swim with them. One complain about the management is they were not really helpful at that day when we visited there probably because there were 2-3 big busses full of cruise visitors arrived and everyone was just running all around.

I always try to swim with the dolphins when traveling, this location is a bit smaller then the rest I have been to had a great time with the dolphins and the staff was great! There’s a snack stand offering fresh food and drinks and your done playing in the water. Could have been a five star review if I was able to down load the pictures I purchased, I have contacted Dolphin Discovery and have yet to get a response.

Nice Place, impressive for adults and especially for kids. Downside ist the price. Entrance fee is high. Photos inside are not allowed, whihh makes sense in the dolphine pools, but outside it is ridiculous. The minimum charge for fotoa taken per 1 person is 70 USD plus 20 USD uf you like to have 2 small videos. Per person. When you like to get the pictures, you need to download an app onto your cell phone. Sstaff has benn friendly and professional, photographers and others could not even smile throughout the time. Strange. All in all, a very expensive experience but nice due to the dolphines. Better book on weekends when cruise ships are not there.

We booked this as part of an excursion with Royal Caribbean. The experience with the dolphins was awesome. Once that was done it was a hard sale on buying pictures. They won’t allow you to take any pictures of your own. The picture packages are per person priced. Originally they are quoted at $75 a person and then you can talk them down to $50. So we were looking $250 total on the “deal”. It was a super hard sale too, we were approached over and over to buy something. I wouldn’t do this again based on the picture issue. It’s very expensive to do the excursion in the first place, maybe offer one photo as part of it would make it better.

Dirty water , super slippery inside the pool. Not worth it at all. Not sure how they can say it's up to standards. Accident waiting to happen.

We booked the excursion on the Disney Dream. We originally got the one Dolphin package but I would requirement getting the two dolphin package. We got more time with the dolphins and more interaction with them. We got the pictures also.

Terrible that these intelligent wild dolphins are used for entertainment! Tourists do your research. You’re probably visiting because you love animals. If you love them, you would not want them to live the lives they do snatched away from the ocean in captivity in a tank forced to interact with humans. What a shame! Better ways to see them in the wild, with respect!

don’t go here one of the people living on the island told me that the water they have the dolphins in is bad for their health

  • 3/5 Favian C. 5 months ago on Google • 18 reviews
The dolphins are cute and seem well taken care of. However this place is a cash grab for tourists. No way around it. The trainers are friendly & informative. They do provide lockers to store your stuff and they have lifejackets ranging from XS to 3XL. Bathrooms were clean as they all are in Cayman. The photographers take pretty good shots when your in the water with the dolphins. After your package is done you are taken to the computer inside to view your pics and that's when the money for pics pitch comes in. If you want pics be prepared to fork up your cash. But overall the experience is fine. There is 3 packages to choose from. Each package comes with more dolphin activities as you progress up. Also would like to point out the Observation area for non participants are a ways away from the pools. So anyone in that area taking pics wouldn't come out as great as the photographers a few feet away from you. P.S the macaw photo opportunity at the end of the activity is a nice touch to end. Of course you need to pay up for that as well.

We had a great time swimming with dolphins Lucea and Richie! Their trainer was great and coached us and the dolphins on what to do for a great swim!! However, I was sad to see how small the containment area is for these beautiful dolphins. They need more space!! It's bad enough they are contained but please give them more space to roam. Also, the water was filthy. There was algae growing all over the platform you stand on during your encounter. It makes it slippery. Would love to see a few changes on our next swim as we would definitely love to visit with the dolphins again but we do think they deserve some better accommodations. The photographers were great. We got some beautiful pictures and footage of our swim that we will treasure forever.

The actual stingray and dolphin encounters was wonderful. Good trainers and amazing animals. Very nice facility. Took off one star for their terrible and disappointing picture policy. $200 for digital copies of the pictures they take of you??? $45 for a single picture?? That was a spoiler for me.

We purchased a "royal" swim with the dolphins package for our 4 children and purchased the combo package for the Turtle Center across the street as well. The cost was just under $800 and we paid US cash. They did not have enough change to return to us, so we just shrugged it off since it wasn't too much. Our kids did enjoy the event, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. The place was empty, yet they positioned our kids in the furthest lane possible so we couldn't take pictures or videos. I do understand they wanted us to purchase both, but we still would have enjoyed watching our kids. My husband and I were not allowed in the area since we didn't participate in the activity ourselves. Understandable, so we didn't question anything. Their facility, their rules. The frustrating part was after the activity when they try to sell pictures and videos. Our frustration increased as we were looking through the pictures and asking prices. Apparently the pricing is whatever they feel at the moment. ONE 8x10 picture was quoted as $45, but when I picked the one picture with all 4 kids, the price increased to $180 since more people were in the picture. After the sales person said she needed to ask the manager why the same piece of printed paper would increase based on the number of people, we just left. More frustration occurred as we walked across to the Turtle Center. We showed our arm bands and were informed that with the $40pp upcharge from Dolphin Discovery, this would only allow them to WALK around the facility. In order to swim with the turtles, there would be another $40pp charge. These random upcharges should have been explained from the start so customers can make informed decisions. Anyone booking please ask all questions up front because what you see is NOT what you get. This type of business practices comes off as shady and just trying to price gouge to make up for the lack of business.

The excursion itself was amazing!! The trainer was awesome and the dolphins were so sweet!! The only thing is you cannot take your camera and they will restrict you on poses and pics the photographer will take. They also watch you like a hawk when reviewing your photos. I didn’t take from the review because of that though. Book if ever in the Grand Cayman.

Went to Jamaica Cozumel and this dolphin Discovery in Grand Caymans. The dolphin Discovery center was the most amazing part of mine and my wife's trip. The dolphins were wonderful to work with and is completely Hands-On. We loved it! I must do for the Grand Caymans!

We were the first tour of the day and you could tell they weren't quiet prepared yet. A guide walked us out and told us about attractions that turned out to not even be open yet and neglected to tell us about the interactive displays which were open. Since we were on an excursion and pressed for time, i wish someone would have told us to head straight to the back of the park where, if you booked an interactive excursion, you get to step into the pools and play with the baby turtles. While it was nice to see the big turtles and take pictures there were tanks and tanks of them and I would have preferred to spend more time playing with them than just looking at them.

Great place to visit. The dolphin encounters are loads of fun and they seem to enjoy the tricks they do, like kissing you and pushing you on a boogie board, for fish. But the pictures are rather pricey, like to get all the pictures will cost you as much as the dolphin encounter. But it was lots of fun. Only wish it lasted longer.

We absolutely loved our experience with the dolphins! The Dolphins are extremely smart and seem to be in excellent health. They also seem to be extremely happy while performing. The training staff seems to have an excellent relationship with the dolphin. I would highly recommend checking it out while in the area!

We did the Royal swim which was fantastic! Trainer was great and the dolphins were a lot of fun. Prices seem a bit high until you understand how much they eat and their needs! Worth it for the experience and pictures. Received 150+ digital pictures.

  • 3/5 Doug B. 2 years ago on Google
It was fun getting to see the dolphins up close but ultimately the entire experience is set up as a photo opportunity. You are told that cell phones and cameras are strictly prohibited right before entering the dolphin area. The photos they try to sell (and they really push the photos) are unusually expensive. I enjoyed the visit but definitely not enough to visit a second time.

Trainers and dolphin experience was amazing. Interactive time with the dolphins. Please note they are very strict and do not allow you to take photos. They will take photos of you with various poses with the dolphins and then you purchase the package around $70.00 US and above. There was not much information as to what we would be doing with the dolphins so we were abit lost. Great experience with the dolphins though

Absolutely Amazing Experience. I was a little nervous but once your out there with the instructors it eases. It also helps when your mixed with a Cool crew of people to share such an exeperience. The downside side for me... We couldn't bring our phones to take our own pics. This is such a special moment, I would have liked to personalize it my way. They have a team member on deck that captures pics of each encounter that you can buy in the end. I was disappointed with most and couldn't get a redo. The way your face is captured straight on, hope good ones come out. The cost is more than I would be willing to pay. The person gave us a lower rate with the don't tell,to find others speaking of the same. I appreciate the experience...

Great experience to swim with dolphins here; for those who don’t want to get into the water, u can just sit by the bar & restaurant hut and watch the staff feed, train and play with the dolphins, better still, it’s free to do so! It would be better if they let you know more clearly in advance that you are not allowed to take pictures yourself during the experience and all official pictures taken by them are an extra cost not included in the experience ticket. Local residents / work permit holders can enjoy a good discount making the experience worthwhile to enjoy at Cayman with the same company than in other parts of the world. Call for their opening / session times before you go as this was a bit random especially during / post COVID.

this place was amazing. Carlos was fantastic. We got to hang with Lucia and Richie. And learn all about them. Carlos was amazing at teaching us everything and just helping us get to know these beautiful creatures. I am always torn going to a place like this, but here I could clearly see how it was different. I would recommend to anyone coming to the caymans. An experience I will never forget. And thank you Carlos for a lifetime of memories.

One of the most amazing experience of my lifetime. My daughter and I chose to interact and did not swim with the dolphin. I probably spend over $300 for my daughter and I, purchased all our photos on disc that day. I felt so much at peace after my experience. It is unexplainable how great it is. I think will swim with a dolphin next time. Staff was friendly and most importantly dolphins seem very happy and healthy. They have lockers there where you can lock belongings. We walked through an area with turtles and other animals before entering dolphin area. You definitely will not regret this!

Here on vacation from Alberta, Canada. Today my great friend, who hosted my stay here and a resident took us here for this adventure. The most absolute AMAZING experience ever as this was always on my bucket list, and now dream is fulfilled. The staff, our dolphin trainer Jolie was great and gave us the best entertainment experience. Buy the package deal for $150 as we had 288 photos as well as 2 pictures printed off. This will be a definite repeat when I return, highly recommended ya gotta try it. These mammals are the most gentle and graceful creatures other than the stingray I have ever encountered. 10/10 so worth the $$

So. Much. Fun!! Our trainer was excellent, you could tell he's had many years of experience in this field. He was warm, confident and calm which was nice as I haven't swam with dolphins before and was a bit nervous. The dolphins themselves were playful and engaging, absolute sweethearts. It's honestly an experience of a lifetime, do yourself a favor and go!
