This western part of Grand Cayman is not so crowded with tourists as Seven Mile Beach and southern part. It is nice place to live by the sea and due to wonderful climate you can swim whole year round, only potential problem being now and then some hurricane if coming to close to the island during season. Iguanas are all around and not afraid at all so many are killed by cars. Sunsets are amazing. On the pictures can bee seen beach in front of the apartment we were living for almost two years. Each day I will be swimming and snorkeling amazed by the beauty and abundance of the sea life. There was small coral reef very near and I was visiting my pet lobster as well as many rays and school of fish. I was swimming by the shore very far and once I met very big turtle. She surprised me coming from behind and for the moment I was not sure if she is something more dangerous but she just looked at me and went for the surface. I also met many divers. It was real pleasure I will recommend to anybody visiting Caymans.

West Bay Beach is truly a Caribbean gem. The crystal clear waters, soft white sand and rocks make for a picturesque beach perfect for snorkeling and sunbathing. Blue skies and crashing waves are all elements that can make a beach experience even more memorable. The calm waters and gentle waves make it ideal for families with young children.

West Bay Beach is a very nice beach to relax and practice water sports. The place is clean surrounded by restaurants and easy to find. Has a deck for good pictures and spot the beautiful sun set or the full moon (West Bay dock), has it own parking lot where you can find locals selling fresh fish or local food like bbq chicken of local fruits. The beach has trees that make a good shade for a nice nap by the beach. If you like water sport you can perform snorkeling here and find many different species underwater like squids, sargent mayors, shrimps and crabs or just a simple swim in the area surrounded by a beautiful and shallow turkish blue ocean. There is no lifeguard on the area so be careful how far you go swimming from the shore and careful with the animals underwater (stepping on stingrays or hitting a coral). Bring sunblock, towel, hat or cap and snacks to enjoy a great day.

Awesome little beach where you can avoid the crowds often found in 7 mile.

A beautiful beach that is further away from the bulk of tourists that flock towards seven mile beach closer to the cruise terminal. So if you have time, jump on a taxi for $2.5 and get over here. There is a long stretch of white sand with very little people. The only people we saw were a few locals and some scuba divers heading out to sea. Definitely recommend this beach.

Beautiful beach for walking along and taking pictures. Not great for swimming. The waves were really strong, they break right along the small hill at the beach, and there's coral all along the beach. Great for a walk and finding shells, but not great for swimming.

Quiet part of Seven Mile Beach, very clean with a public bathroom. The ocean is pretty rough here so not great for wading in the water

The West Bay Beach is directly at the junction that will take you to the Cayman Turtle Centre or you can go to Hell. The beach and ocean view is amazing and the underwater life is spectacular.

Chilled, beach with a slight drop down to the water. A bit of a step once into the water itself. Fairly clean beach but with a few leaves seeds and bottle caps. Couple of huts in the beach and showers loos and limited parking.

We stopped at West Bay after visiting the Cayman Turtle Center and it was a hidden gem! The sand was fluffy and the shallow water provided easy snorkel access for our kids. There were public picnic tables shaded by grape trees too.

Beautiful calm water, even on a windy day when other nearby beaches had waves. Nice seating areas

An island with great personal memories. Helped build a kingdom hall here.
