Horrible Stay! Out of all the hotels with IHG Group, this was the worst stay I have ever experienced in my life. Traveling with my family after a long road trip and could not sleep a bit. There was a family with a kid/kids. The entire family was dropping things and the kid was running non-stop from the time we reached there from the evening. I thought it would be stopped atleast around 10pm. Finally I called the front desk and complained about the issue and the front desk person did not seem to take it at all serious. Still it just continued till 2:30am, like the family was sleeping through out the day. Later at 2:30am, I called her and complained again. The front desk lady then tells me why you didn’t call me earlier and if you want, I can arrange another room to move out in the middle of the night with my family, instead of managing them to be quiet. Too many stains on the carpets, outdated building, need renovation, front desk person does not have any courtesy to deal or manage issues, even make you sign paperwork with lots of rules and regulations. Left the hotel early morning with out eating breakfast. Can imagine how that would be. Got a text message and fooled saying that they will be sending an email about a survey and to call them if it is not 5 stars or 10/10. Never recd the email and I would have given 0/10.

I stayed this Holiday Inn for 2 nights (7/11 & 7/12). The night shift front desk guy, he was so kind and helpful. The AC in my room didn't work well, he got me another room and double checked to make sure the AC would work before I changed. I asked a sewing kit to fix my shirt without knowing if he might has it or not. But he found one for me! I thank him, and appreciated his kind help! IHG is lucky to have him.

The service was great. Breakfast was ok when the drink machine worked. The pancake machine was broken as well. Rooms needed upgrades, paint on ceiling, new furniture without stains, carpet that dont smell, new hair dryers that are not missing parts, drapes that don't have medium to large holes in them. I WAS SHOCKED even though I was staying 2 nights that cleaning lady came in to clean. I'm glad nothing was taken.

Not a negative thing to say about this place. We were welcomed by Selena who treated us well ( as well as the rest of the staff). The room was clean and the breakfast was AMAZING. Conveniently located to expressway and shopping. We will definitely be staying there again when on the area!

If I. Could give 0/5 stars I would. And we didn’t even make it to the hotel. We booked a group reservation for a competition several of us were competing at. With the storm coming the competition was canceled. The manager Will was unwilling to compromise from the cancellation policy an in turn charged 8 of us for a room we can’t even make it to. Called corporate they also asked Will for a one time cancellation courtesy due to the circumstances and he was unwilling to budge. Take your money and your business elsewhere, there are plenty of options around the area, this is not one of them.

Booked the stay for 8/20-8/21. Checked in at 5:30pm on Saturday and got to my room and saw that the thermostat showed the room was 79 degrees. I made sure the air was on and lowered the temp to 65. By the time I returned to my room at 1am the temperature had only dropped 2 degrees. I called the front desk and the woman working that night was very quick to come to my room and tried to trouble shoot. She was unable to get it to work so she relocated me to a new room. She was amazing and friendly, however I believe she was working alone and had been running all night. Should definitely have more staff available. However once I got settled into the new room I found 3 dead bugs on the floor. One of which was just inside the door. Had the room been cleaned properly I don’t think those would’ve been missed. Aside from that the stay was ok.

While using the app, I booked a stay for 8/4-8/5 by accident, I meant to choose 8/3-8/4. I used the IHG app, and cancelled the one I chose by accident and received confirmation of the cancellation and enjoyed my stay on 8/3-8/4 and was billed properly. Here is it on 9/4 on I was charged $128.78 for the night I chose by accident on the app and cancelled right after. I called the front desk at 11:30am on 9/4 and was told by the lady working that "we sometimes charge for the rooms even if you cancel." -What? When I asked her what is the point of that, she said "don't use the app, just call us next time" What's the point of the app then? Would love a call from the GM, I'm due back the cost of a non-existent stay. God bless.

Clean but aging and in need of upkeep. My toilet rocks....not a pleasant experience. There are doors that have been busted open in need of repair. They do not use HIE shower heads, and the faucet handle does not swing completely in both directions...The location is its primary attraction for me.

The stay started off poorly when we arrived and were told that our reservation was cancelled. Apparently, even though we booked through IHG, the credit card information wasn't provided to the hotel, so they decided to cancel the reservation without even attempting to contact us (Issue #1). We were told that they still had a room available for our 4 day stay, and we didn't have any other options at the time except to wait to be booked into the hotel again. Once we arrived in our room, we found Issue #2 when the toilet was already clogged. We called down to inform the staff, and they brought up a plunger for us to use. Annoying, but I was able to unclog the toilet. We tried to get some sleep after a full day's drive, but found that the curtains (had several large tears in them (Issue #3), which, although annoying, didn't prevent us from coming up with a solution that would allow us to get some sleep. At 1am, we were woken by a high pitched whining sound coming from the A/C (Issue #4). For the next several hours, I tried to turn off and back on the A/C in an attempt to cool the room enough to get back to sleep, but I was not able to get back to sleep for the rest of the morning. I tried to take a shower in the morning, but found another issue with the room, in that the shower curtain was completely missing (Issue #5). At this point, breakfast was open, so I went down and politely asked for a shower curtain and to check out that morning. We were told they could check us out early and handed us a shower curtain. We were able to leave that morning and received the bill for the one night. Alas, our issues were not finished, when we got home and found another $50 charge on our credit card statement (Issue #6). I'm sure I'll find time to call and figure out why they charged us more this week, but I would highly recommend reviewing other options in the area if you're looking for a room that meets the bare minimum of a hotel stay.

I would recommend avoiding. When we arrived late Friday night after traveling since 4:00 am, we entered our room to find the door not closing in bathroom, clogged toilet, and smeared handprints on headboard. Although we were exhausted, I asked my husband to request we change rooms. Front desk helped us out with that (thank you). The new room also had a toilet that was struggling to work properly. When I informed the front desk to inquire if issue had been resolved (we had been gone all day), I was told she had no idea and handed me a used toilet plunger wrapped in a garbage bag (Saturday night). Info that might be helpful to others: Cons... -Don't expect pool to be open or clean. -Plumbing is a nightmare. Water damage on ceilings from previous water incidents above. Public restrooms off of lobby are normally occupied or flooded. -Suite room tubs are finished with plywood. -Holes in headboards. Pros... -About 1/4 of the staff were very friendly and personable. -Granite vanity/shower walls were a nice. -They had flavored coffee creamers available. -Check-out process was very quick/easy.

Hotel is average, close to a huge road therefore a lot of noise. The rooms are huge and my bed was really good. On the other side you have a quite good connection to any place. Reception was very nice and kind

The room was dirty. The carpet is not clean it has stains. There was trash under the bed and couch. The pool was not clean. The soap in the bathroom was empty. Did not like the view. This is the worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed in as far as cleanliness and no update light fixture.

I walked in at 11:10 pm, the night audit front desk was extremely rude. I booked 2 queen bedroom, upon arrival she said we have no double queen available. Ended up calling calling IHG customer service. Spent 90 minutes over the phone in the lobby... while I was on hold with customer service, she called me over and said I might have a room available, but it's for people with disability, I said that's fine. She said I'll give you the room, but don't leave any Negative feedback... and I was like seriously? As a Diamond Elite member all I can say is just shame on you and the property management who didn't teach you customer service. My dad and I arrived from the airport and all we wanted was just a room to sleep and she deliberately didn't give us. she ended up checking us in and we went to room 217. Once we opened the door, the temperature shown on the thermostat was 83. It was extremely HOT. During that 90 minutes waiting time at the lobby, I asked her to give us 2 single bed instead of double queen and she said this is not possible. I wish I could just give them 0 star... stay away from this place as far as you can. I will definitely file a complaint with IHG. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN.

Coffee is unavailable outside breakfast hours. The charging port in the sitting area had no power, the char in the room was too narrow to sleep on, I can’t use a bed due to recent surgery. Then housekeepers decided 830pm was a great time to clean the room next to me and slam the door every 5-7 minutes for 40 minutes. Fun times.

Had a mediocre experience at this hotel. the basic items like hot water and coffee weren’t available. had to ask multiple times for amenities, the breakfast was average. the pool is super small and the gym is ok. There is no large vehicle parking either.

TERRIBLE and I will NEVER stay here again. The person on duty Lorenzo 1st gave me the wrong room, and we went to it and it was dirty. My kids where so excited to be there they ran in and jumped onto a dirty messy bed. So, we go back downstairs to get a new room, to go up stairs to find out we had received a down graded room. I paid extra for the space so we go BACK downstairs to stand there another 10 minutes to FINALLY get us a room, on the Quiet floor with 3 nine year old's. I look into my bank account and there is TWO $50 holds for "damages" a just in case which I was told about but should of only been one and not two. When I asked Lorenzo about it he looked at me with a blank stare. He didn't know why (even though he is the one that ran my card) told me if it doesn't come off my card to contact the manager. Mind you it takes days for that to happen and I now have $100 on hold because of his error. There was no hot water ever in the shower, no hot tub and for the breakfast all of the milk was expired. We told the one lady and she just ignored us, so I told the kind lady at the front and she quickly went and pulled it from what I could see. Here we are Monday @ 4:15PM and still no call from management even though I asked for someone to call me before I wrote this review. Go somewhere else and save yourself some time.

Reserved 2 rooms together. Ended up having them on seperate floors. Couldn't even check inn to 1 of our rooms an hour after check inn time. The lady who at the desk was not friendly. Room 315 smelled like cigg smoke. Breakfast was great only reason I didn't give it a 1 star.

Selected for location near relatives and services. Not as updated as other HIE, but nice enough. Dated bathroom and smaller TV. Beds comfortable. Good shower, but prefer the bar soap to bodywash. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of pastries, oatmeal & cereals, yogurts, pancakes, eggs and bacon.

Rooms were clean, the guy that checked me in was polite and professional. The problem come when they charged an extra “mystery” which no one could explain. Called the hotel and was told the charge would fall of a few days later, it did not. Not only did the mystery charge process the deposit did too. After call several times, they tell me that they have issued a refund. My bank has no record of any refund. And for all the trouble of having money unauthorized taking from my account, a couple thousand reward points😂. Pitiful

Adequate & Satisfactory. Location is excellent for the hospital across 12 Mile Rd. and the Fox Run Retirement Center a mile north. Drawbacks: the carpeting in the rooms could use a deep clean and kick board tops dusted. The staff are super friendly, but need a gentle reminder that their vivaciousness does carry up the hall to those of us that have a room on ground floor.

This hotel is more like 3.5 stars. It’s very nice and clean, the beds are super comfy! Breakfast was delicious with a decent variety of foods, hot and fresh. The only drawbacks would be that the pool did not seem heated (a main reason why we went) and using your key card as a light switch? (Long explanation but it’s worth noting) - This was probably the biggest inconvenience of our room. The key holder for the light is located near the main door and controls the foyer area and the bathroom lights. I understand wanting to be energy efficient but it seems like having a 30 second timer for two lights uses more power (switching on and off) than just keeping it on for 3-5mins and no you cannot just keep the key in the holder for longer amounts of time, it will still turn off after 30sec. That is barely enough time to use the bathroom + wash your hands. I cannot imagine how frustrating taking a shower would be. The only person who didn’t seem to mind playing with the key holder/light switch was my seven year old son.

The front desk staff is absolutely wonderful. The hotel could use a few updates but it's still pretty good. Breakfast was delicious; an overall great experience.

My first room had ants in the sink and on the floor. I called down and the clerk was able to get me a different room. The second room luckily did not have ants, but there was mold all up in the mini fridge. It was supposed to be remodeled or going through remodel. But I never saw anyone working and it was just dirty in general. The front staff was friendly so that was nice.

Good hotel. Rooms felt clean and beds were comfy. Not the fanciest hotel we've ever stayed in but it got the job done. The breakfast is where this hotel really shines though! The hot breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, cereal, and a few other typical breakfast items. It was great! If we're in Novi again, I would stay here again!

I never leave reviews because I think they are left by angry people who are upset about petty things but this had to be done. This hotel is horrible I was in town for a funeral I needed a double room with a pullout I arrived at the hotel get to the room and do my usual inspection and check the bed for bugs and clean sheets and to my surprise the pull out was so gross I was shocked the other beds were old and lumpy as hell they looked like they got them out an alley. Front desk moves us to another room and wouldn’t you guess the same thing pullout is gross and the window would not shut mind you this is January 5 the middle of the winter storm and the window won’t shut. My sister needed a double room with a pullout she arrived after us and they tried to give her the same disgusting room we declined I will let the pictures tell the story also there were stains on the furniture and curtains(how do curtains get stained) knobs missing off drawers carpet was sticky and the bathroom was dirty. I worked hospitality in the past and I just don’t understand how this could happen. The hotel manager is doing a terrible job because obviously the staff feels confident enough in knowing no one will come behind and check their work .

Negative: Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, no fan or vent for the bathroom and stains on the bedding and curtains. Also, the wallpaper was coming off of the walls near the ceiling. Overall, the room wasn't clean. Positive: The staff was friendly and breakfast was ready on time.
