We had the mixed grill for two. We enjoyed every mouthful the place was full to brimming and so was we when we'd finished our meal.

Update 11/09/23 - went for the first time after their refurb and the menu prices had increased so much. A 2 person platter used to be £24 and now it's £42, which is a crazy jump. The refurb does look nice, but I think I'll be eating here less as the value for money isn't as great anymore. Shame __________________________________ 01/04/23 - My favourite place in Nottingham for Turkish food. The platters are amazing value for money. The bread they give you with you meal absolutely amazing 🤌🏼. Highly recommend this place.

A very nice evening we had here. Service was good and on time. Food was excellent, we had the platter for 4, more than enough for us all. Nice modern surroundings and the place was full (a good sign). Reasonably priced too. And I must say the toilets were very blingy but nice 😊

Was expecting more if I’m honest… Calamari to start followed by a mixed Kabab. Both courses was bland, no authentic flavour, poorly presented and if I’m honest I’ve had better at the local chip shop!

Thoroughly enjoyed our girls night out. Excellent menu full of choice. We ordered some starters to share The restaurant then brought out a selection of dips, bread and salad on the house. I opted for the Yogurtlu Adana which was lovely.

The best Turkish restaurant in Nottingham. And the bread and dips are to die for. Been loads of times and will continue to do so.

Called in for lunch with my daughter and granddaughter today. As soon as they spotted my daughter preparing to feed the baby in the busy restaurant, they offered to seat us upstairs. Super clean, went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and looked after. Lovely people and really good food. Really good service.

Not the best Turkish restaurant in Nottingham. The worst calamari I have ever tasted, didn’t even look or taste like calamari! The mixed shish (lamb and chicken ) was ok. The waitress rushed us as we had no sooner finished our starter then the main was brought, again as soon as our knives and forks were put down she whisked the plates away. Be a long time before we go back,,, :(

Absolutely delicious!! One of the best meals we have ever had. 3 of us all thoroughly enjoyed. The ezme and hummus were the best we ever tried. Halloumi kebab was great. My mom had the lamb as we had seen reviews recommending the lamb chops and she was in heaven! She said they melted in her mouth. Not the cheapest but for the amount of food you get and the flavours, absolutely amazed. We will definitely be regulars.

We had the special for 4, drinks and complementary starters; all you need in this no frills Turkish diner. Excellent value, great food, friendly staff and good service.

Excellent food and super service. Good choice of authentic Turkish cuisine. Quite busy even at 5pm on a Friday night. Generous portions. £ reasonable £45 for 2 starters, 2 main, and drinks. Would definitely return. Slightly noisy (but it was a weekend).

Tried the newly refurbished Turkish restaurant, and as we entered, it looked quite swanky. Staff are attentive and friendly. Food was nice and slightly expensive. But you do get free Turkish bread and a decent portion of delicious dips. A freshly made salad also arrived on the table for free. My seafood mixed grill was nice, and it was accompanied by rice/bulgur. The mixed shish had too many chips, but meat was spot on. Iskender shish was delicious, too, but the portion was a little smaller. Somethings on the menu are too pricey.

Must go place to eat in Sherwood, Nottingham. With the new renovations completed, the decor and style was amazing with first class service. Ignore the below review, contradictory with food prices. Menus available as you walk in to view before, Plenty of staff, ready to serve. Call bell on each of the tables. Food has alway been of good quality. Price I had noticed have gone up a little. I.e sharing platter used to be £38, now £42. Authentic Turkish foods, wide choice for everyone. We booked a table for 2, 3 days in advance. 5pm Saturday. I had the chicken shesh with two types of rice, salad. Spiced rum and diet coke. Also creamy chicken pasta dish, Barcadi and coke. Jug of water. All presented with 3 dips, nan bread. £46.00. My only issue, and I've always had this, is they leave the front door open too often which brings the cold in. I've often had to wear thicker clothing when I come here. Im always cold here, no matter where I sit.. Don't sit at the back adjacent to the door. Me just nesh. Parking available near by off street car parks. Enjoy.

Fantastic food as always. My first time visiting since the revamp - looks beautiful from outside and is cosier than before but I miss seeing the chefs cooking on the grill etc. Food was amazing and plenty of it. Great to see that they still give complementary dips and Turkish bread and their beautiful mixed salad. A really lovely meal

We attended a birthday celebration here. The food was nice overall although not anything outstanding they provided a nice selection of bread salad and dips for the table. It was ridiculously loud as noise from other tables echoed in the room upstairs'. The wine was hugely overpriced and really poor quality. The waitress was nice but didn’t seem to understand that if you asked for something extra like a sauce with your food she basically said no you don’t need it? Just odd service. I wouldn’t eat here again unfortunately.

We went to this place all the way from London to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was delicious. Doner was very thick cut (surely the thickest we tried so far). No hidden crushed bone in the doner and the doner was very succulent and juicy. Adana and shish surely get 5 out of 5. The lamb chops and Ribs were a bit thin and harder. The service was excellent. The young man tried his best to give us the best experience. We tried the platter. Perhaps, lamb chop and rib dish (on its own) is thicker cut and yummy. I surely would recommend the restaurant as overall food is great.

This is a great restaurant, we regularly dine in or have take away from Rakki Rakkas. The food is fresh and tasty, with generous portions. The service is friendly and quick, and the place is always full with a great atmosphere. There are plenty of vegetarian options (although not a lot of vegan dishes) Highly recommend.

AMAZING. Passing through and decided on a Turkish Kebab. Lovely, friendly staff. Fantastic Food - brings back lots of Turkish holiday memories. Did not scrimp on the size. I was stuffed as had to finish the delicious chicken kebab. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

delicious food, great staff. usually get takeaway as it's always busy but that's a good thing. shows how much the local community appreciate this gem.

Absolutely amazing food. Freshly cooked in sight; filling the whole restaurant with great smells. Great selection to meet most peoples tastes I'm sure. Staff really helpful and polite Will definitely be visiting again to try something different on the menu.

Rakki’s gives you so much food that one of the dinners + rice + salad is enough for two. But my husband always wants two dinners so we’ll have plenty of leftovers for brunch the next day. Chicken kavurma and cheese omelette + leftover rice, salad, and bread. This isn’t Rakki’s food as served- it’s what we do with the leftovers. The salad is much fresher-looking on the day it’s collected, obv.

You only have to see the queue outside the full restaurant to understand how amazing this place is. Fantastic value, great service and exceptional quality of food. I only wish I'd been here sooner. 10/10 see you again soon.

I visited this awesome establishment today for lunch. We were welcomed upon arrival and sat down efficiently. We were given complimentary cold meze, nan bread and a large salad bowl. The complimentary additions were very welcomed. The food was amazing and fresh. Each table has a buzzer for customers to use, to place order, to ask for bill etc. This is an awesome idea. The place is aesthetically pleasing g and very clean. The service from the young.lady was impeccable. I definetley recommend and would visit again.

I highly recommend this place, most authentic and best Turkish restaurant in the UK in my opinion. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food is absolutely delicious and authentic. Prices are great too. Absolute 10/10, would give a Michelin star if I could.
