This is the best park in the whole world. I love it so much. You feel you are walking in a story. This was a private estate that has been put into public hands, so it is the best. It feels a great monument to Lady Gray.

To get there, it is a little walk up to hill from carpark. Carpark is a bit cheaper for " early birds," just one pound from 7 AM-9AM. The rest of the day, I think, over 3 pounds. Car Park has a good capacity with a tarmac surface and without potholes. Waste bins on the side . All important information, such as closing time and emergency numbers on the board next to carpark meter. On the way up to hill, there is toilet. Clean and good equipped. While crossing the gate into the field, there is a beautiful view with many footpaths and benches on the side. Worm clothes , hats , gloves, and good outdoor shoes may be recommended. On top of the hill, it is very windy . Amazing view for whole areas. Recommended. One of the best things to do while visiting Leicester and nearby areas.

Great place for a good walk. Amazing views. Full of history. Car park at the weekends fills up quick. All day parking will cost you Β£5.50 or Β£4 for 3hrs.

It makes for very lovely photos, you can't go inside it but that didn't matter too much to us. It stands at the top of a hilly slope so almost acts as a viewing platform from you can see a lot of the park below you.

Nice folly, but that's all. Parking around the park where the Old John is, is paid. Even before 9am! Just a short walk from the parking, and you can be back in 1/2 hour and made pictures too. Nice that it's there but wouldn't drive miles for just the tower.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon out. Unbelievable to think this isn’t but a stones throw from Leicester! You are completely transported to another part of the country! Great afternoon with the kids. Forest, castle, lakes (well, reservoirs) and Ice Cream and cakes!! Parking wasn’t bad Β£4.50 for the day!

A historiacal monument of high interest. The view from here, overseeing Cropton & surrounding areas is breathtaking. The climb here though, not for the faint hearted. Go with lots of energy boosters! This is a perfect location for adventure junkies. Perfect for hickers!

Can't fault the tower, nice walk up to it, great view from it, just a shame that its popularity means getting a picture of it will usually mean other people are surrounding it.

Went here after reading some good reviews and it didn’t disappoint!!! We parked at the hunter’s hill car park and was a short walk up to Old John Tower. Wow, the views all around are amazingly stunning . Kids loved it, especially the deers walking around freely was a treat. Has toilet facilities there too which are helpful.

Very nice experience. It was the second time we went this year. Appropriate for dogs. The cafeteria has got ice cream 🍦 for dogs 🐢 and aluminum water bowls for dogs too. Ideal for hiking, picnic, photography... Loved it

Beautiful location. We went really early to see the sunrise. (Too cloudy) Saw quite a few deer and stags. Really great view even with fog. During this time of year very slippy so wear good shoes.

Great park to visit, cyclists could slow down more around pedestrians. Dogs must be kept on leads.

Beautiful walk up and the view is gorgeous. Was very nice to visit on a cold Monday morning as it was very quiet and peaceful.

Great views of Charnwood from here, occasionally the tower is open and free to go in.

Beautiful view from top of the hill. Fantastic park for a walk. Easy pathway get there from carpark. I would recommend early birds option 1 Β£ for 2 hours pay for carpark. Please consider good shoes and had . Some parts of the pathway can be muddy, and on top of the hill, it's very windy. Flask with hot tea will be a great idea. Old John Tower is currently under the renovation process, so there is a small chance to get a nice selfie with the tower behind

Been visiting Bradgate park for over 50 years, mainly throughout my childhood in Leicester, and it's still a lovely unspoilt place. I now have to travel an hour to get there but it's still worth the trip. Recent visit with children and grandchildren makes it even more special. Let's hope it never changes.

Amazing views across Leicestershire and beyond. Steep climb for the fitter people, but a steadier climb going around the contour of the hill.
