Lovely venue to call in for a hot drink and food after a walk along the canal. Very traditional cafe area on the ground floor. My personal favourite is the fruit cake however the carrot cake does take some bearing. Selection of teas and coffees plus other hot food. If its a dry day you can sit in the garden at the back which is great if you have children with you as there is a little wooden boat on the grass which they can play in. Upstairs are two meeting rooms which can be booked out. If there are a few families meeting for a celebration this would be a great idea to book one of the rooms I'm advance so that you are all able to sit together. There is a lift for pushchair and wheelchair to access the first floor. Toilets are on the ground floor and are regularly checked. There is no parking on site and at weekends and school holidays parking on the road can be limited also. Just to warn you that there is no barrier between the road and the canal, just the grass verge so please be very careful with young children.

One of my favourite places! The food is reasonably priced and large portions. The garden is lovely and they do lots to support local artists and people in the community. Good coffee too!

Great cafe and heritage centre. There are lovely walks along the canal and the River Trent. Great for dog walking. This is a good place to start and end your walk. It has Great facilities for all, even a lift for disabled wheelchair users to reach the first floor terrace. Lovely gardens, lovely food and lovely people.

Had a lovely lunch in the garden, food was great. They have gluten free and vegetarian options, and I could find things suitable for low FODMAP. Staff were nice and friendly, it was very busy but everything seems to be run very efficiently (you get a little device that lets you know when your food is ready to collect).

Agree with the previous comments on throw away cups but otherwise this place is great! Right next to the weir, nice garden that is clearly composting and doing good practice, plant sales in a sustainable way etc. The gluten free choice in the cafe is fab and they have vegan options. The heritage centre itself is very well considered and accessible by a lift or stairs. Hard to fault this place, I love it.

I’ve been coming to the heritage centre regularly for quite a while. The main reason is for the cheese scones. They are made on site are are delicious. In fact all the food is amazing. I fully recommend anyone passing to visit this lovely place.

It's a lovely spot but gosh I don't have much luck with the food. Last time I had toasted crumpets, they were almost incinerated. They made them again for us, but they weren't much better. Today I had a fruit scone, it was awful, tasted strongly of bicarb and just fell apart. I didn't even eat most of it 😕

Decent cake and coffee at reasonable prices. Nice garden and the roof top balcony overlooks the Beeston Weir on the mighty Trent.

I paid the heritage centre a visit last Tues with a friend and had a lovely fruit scone and by chance went in with a different friend on the Wednesday and tried a cheese scone and they've been the best scones I've ever had and i shall definitely be returning.

Great lunch in the tea room today. Really enjoyed the mulled wine and the great selection of gluten-free cakes. Don't forget to go upstairs to admire the view looking out over the weir.

One of our best discoveries in recent times. The Heritage Centre is well worth a visit. The location, the gardens and an ideal place to place relax and enjoy a bite to eat.

A lovely cafe and outdoor garden area. Plenty to do for kids. Great view of the canal, river and the wier. I had a nice breakfast sausage cob and coffee.

Lovely place to visit. Beautiful garden with toys for toddlers. Good walks locally and cafe is well placed for refreshments. Cheese scones were good and served on a traditional plate so can't understand why all the drinks are served in takeaway cups which, I was told, are not recycled.

Lovely place to visit, well situated great variety of food, resonably priced and vegan gluten free options. Lovely bit of history about the place and surroundings. Will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend

Lovely place and staff. Disappointed by use of disposable cups for drinks. Even if the are recyclable but it's still a waste of resources and may still end up in landfill. Why are cafes so averse to using proper crockery?

What a lovely place to visit...worth it for the cakes alone....but you get such a warm friendly greeting from the staff. This all topped off with beautiful views. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Canalside Heritage Cafe , what a nice setting to enjoy a rest and drink , the garden is a lovely rest area with lots of different types of area to sit. The fruit and cheese scones are excellent taste. The riverside views are beautiful.

This place is a must on your bucket list. Volunteers have transformed this Heritage Centre into a beautiful venue with raised beds and a beautiful garden. The gentleman who had the vision to pursue funding and ideas needs congratulations from all of us.

Coffee with views from the upper terrace. Hope they are still open as it is operating as a takeaway with out side, socially distanced seating. Back again after nearly two years full service now and many Vegan options too.

Absolutely love this gem of a place. Lots of yummy food to choose from. The home made cakes are amazing!! Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Plus you can take dogs too. Staff are awesome and have started knowing my usual order...which means I go too much! Garden area is really lovely. If you haven't been, you must!

Nice and little place to view. There are Beeston lock and marina nearby. You can head to the Attenborough nature reserve after this. Free parking on the street nearby.

Pleasant meal for two sitting in beautiful garden. Popped into the sheltered section when it rained, then back out in the sun. Constant sound of the river crashing over the Weir. Delightful.
