Excellent Pilates! I have been doing Pilates with Lucy for over 10 years. I was recommended to do Pilates by my GP for my lower back problems. Within a few weeks my back was much more flexible and stronger so that I now suffer no weakness or problems at all. Lucy has always paid careful attention to the needs of individuals in the classes. She has done lots of courses with medical professionals to develop her practice. I attended classes in person until I moved away from the area and Lucy always took great care to create a welcoming and focused atmosphere. Since the covid pandemic I have been joining on zoom, which works really well as Lucy has good technical skills with camera placement and ensuring she is audible. So I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy's Pilates sessions whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner.

I have been doing Pilates with Lucy for around 4 years, mostly to strengthen my core and to help with flexibility. Her group sessions are friendly and provide enough challenge for however you are feeling on the day as she always provides alternatives to make the exercise easier or more challenging. Lucy really cares about what she does, this shines through in every session, she is approachable and really knows her stuff. Lucy’s classes have given me a love of Pilates and I try to never miss a class as I always feel better having done it. There are also recorded classes so if I happen to miss a week I can always catch up. I cannot recommend Pilates with Lucy highly enough, try it, you’ll love it!!

I am a retired physiotherapist and have been in one of Lucy’s Pilates classes continually since. That was September 2007. When Lockdown was on the horizon Lucy immediately worked out how to move the classes on line. We didn’t miss a week. She also started in depth videos demonstrating important details of an exercise to ensure we get the most from our practice. I need and do Pilates to improve and maintain my postural control in all my daily activities. I have lax joints resulting in arthritis of my knees and tears to my rotator cuffs. Pilates helps me maintain my strength and control to enable me to walk for miles and even enjoy Scottish country dancing. As well as all the challenges of life. In class I concentrate 100% on the exercises. To have that control is hugely beneficial for my mental health when there are other events in my life that are outside my control. Lucy is absolutely professional in class, demonstrating and explaining every aspect of the exercises, giving options so we can choose the one most suitable for our individual ability. She is very perceptive to our individual difficulties and needs. She has a deep knowledge of how the body works and great understanding of any impact of injury or other circumstances affecting our bodies. It has been a privilege to see Lucy’s enthusiasm for expanding her knowledge base and adding to her long list of qualifications. But above all Lucy is delightful, fun and kind.

I have been coming to Lucy’s class for around 5 years or more, I attend the class face to face that caters for people with back injuries / mobility issues and find that this level is pitched at my ability. There are hardly any classes that cater for people with disabilities so finding this class was a gem. Lucy is a brilliant instructor very professional and always checks your doing the movements correctly which is a must for this type of class, I find that by doing the class has really helped my flexibility and clears my mind. Lucy is an excellent Pilate instructor and I would recommend coming along to one of her classes and you will see for yourself

I've been doing Pilates with Lucy for over 2 years. I started after a physiotherapist recommended Pilates to help when I had neuropathic pain in my leg from a trapped nerve in my back. I found Lucy's website and arranged a one to one meeting to assess my condition. This was done through Zoom as in person sessions hadn't restarted during the Covid pandemic, and I then attended weekly online classes for almost a year until I was finally able to meet Lucy and other classmates in person. Since then I've been a regular attendee at in person classes. I feel that the exercises have definitely helped to reduce the frequency and impact of back problems as well as having beneficial effects on my overall fitness. Lucy is a great instructor who tailors the sessions to the abilities of those in the class while ensuring that alternative versions are suggested for those whose injury prevents them doing a particular exercise.

I have been attending Pilates group classes with Lucy for several years now. I used to attend face to face groups but then joined the online group classes at the start of the pandemic and continue to access the online groups on a regular basis. Particular benefits for me in practising Pilates are improved core strength, balance, coordination and a way for me to try and focus on my breathing (I have asthma and self diagnosed dyspraxia). I often notice improved patterns of sleep on the nights that I have joined a class and it definitely helps me feel more relaxed. Lucy is incredibly friendly, supportive, personable, caring and professional and I would highly recommend one of her classes to anybody considering trying Pilates for the first time or wishing to return to practising Pilates again. Lucy is very accommodating by offering either face to face or virtual group sessions, individual sessions and online videos and as long as she is aware of your health and wellbeing needs (such as a slipped disc) she can suggest specific exercises or will suggest how they can be adapted. Enjoy!

I have been doing Pilates with Lucy for since around 2015 when i started attending the Thursday night Back rehabilitation class as i suffer from long term back issues including a slipped disc. It was my first time doing Pilates and Lucy instantly made me feel like i was in safe hands. Pilates has really helped me since then with my back and when things flare up I can speak to Lucy and she will do helpful exercises in the class and suggest some exercises to do at home. I really look forward to the class and following Covid, there is also an option to do the class online which is really helpful. I have also done some one to one sessions with Lucy over lockdown to help keep me active and strengthen my core. Lucy is always so friendly and upbeat at classes as well as professional and calmly reassuring. I would really recommend Lucy’s classes to anyone with back or other muscular skeletal issues but it’s also a great class if you dont have any injuries but want to work on your core.

I have been attending Lucy's Thursday remedial classes in person for around 4 years. The content of the classes varies from week to week which keeping them fresh and interesting. Lucy is brilliant at explaining the different sequences of moves and positions so that I can perform them without constantly looking at what she is doing. She is fully aware of class members various health issues and advises on alternative moves for individuals with for example a slipped disc. I always feel that I have benefitted both physically and mentally after attending a class. Lucy is so kind and generous and makes everyone feel welcome and valued. I like to attend person, but she does online classes too. I would say that because of her skill at explaining precisely what to do, and her regular reminders about posture, breathing and what not to do, if you cannot get to a class, an online class would be perfect.

I would highly recommend Lucy if you’re looking for a Pilates teacher. I’ve been going to her classes for several years, both online and in person. Classes are relaxed and enjoyable yet with sufficient level of challenge so that you will soon begin to feel the benefit of this form of exercise (or progress even further if it’s something you’ve done before). I have back and hip issues which are greatly helped by doing Pilates (a GP suggested I try Pilates when these problems were first diagnosed). I’ve also booked some (online) one-to-one sessions with Lucy in the past - after an initial consultation she put a personalised plan together which targeted exactly the areas I needed to work on. Lucy is both extremely knowledgeable and very approachable, and her calm, friendly, encouraging manner sets just the right tone for this discipline.

I was given two 1:1 Pilates sessions with Lucy for Xmas. Never done Pilates before but really want (need !) to improve my posture / flexibility . I am recently retired but still fairly active. Sessions aimed at pushing but not breaking me 👍 Extremely relaxed and informal with plenty of encouragement and positive feedback. Am now planning to join one of Lucy’s local group classes .

I have been attending Lucy's classes for nearly 12 years, initially at a local leisure centre, but when she left to set up independently, although I tried classes with other tutors, they did not compare with the Lucy's classes, so I re-joined Lucy at The Hub. I prefer the classes held in person, though there are also sessions on Zoom - Lucy set these up as a result of covid. I preferred to use her video classes which focused on specific body areas. I initially started Pilates to maintain general fitness and flexibility I found the exercises also improved my posture. in the last couple of years Pilates has been very helpful with back and hip issues. Lucy is great, she is very aware people's medical issues, and provides alternative ways of doing exercises giving people the option of making their practice more or less challenging. I have discussed my difficulties and she has given me special exercises which have really helped. Lucy makes everyone feel welcome and supported, regardless of their ability. the focus is on breathing and developing core strength, and celebrating what your body can do! In Lucy's classes we develop both mindfully and physically. Above all else I really enjoy classes with Lucy

Lucy is a an excellent Pilates teacher. I have been attending her Pilates classes for many years both in person or online. She is very clear with her instruction and also explains the purpose of particular exercises. Lucy's classes are enjoyable, fun, friendly and very professionally run. The routines are very varied and cover different levels. Adjustments to the exercises are offered for people with specific injuries. I joined initially for help with my lower back pain and found the classes of great benefit in alleviating my symptoms and increasing my flexibility and fitness. Lucy is an expert in her field with great knowledge of injuries and rehabilitation. She communicates with clarity and enthusiasm and I would thoroughly recommend her as a Pilates Instructor.

👍👍 Have been a member here for around 13/14 years now and it's for a good reason. It's a great gym in terms of equipment, atmosphere and membership. During my time here, I've played football, American football and baseball, so I've needed to train specifically and hard, and it has all the equipment an...
