I AM SO ANNOYED!! Why.. as someone from the east end of Sheffield do I have to travel to Loughborough to find the best Indian food I've ever had?? 😆😆 Seriously - this place is awesome and you WILL be in love with the food. It's ridiculously good. To start, most local Indians will just go to Bookers / Costco / Makro and buy the cheapest shiz on the shelves. Not here. The food is obviously fresh and of good quality. Even the Poppadoms were obviously fresh and were crisp and tasty. Not oily or dry. But the mains. Ohhhhhh the mains. Quality cuts of meat in a fresh, glistening sauce that was obviously made from scratch. And absolutely DEEEEE-LISH-USSS!! Not sure if the photos do it justice but put naan breads were delivered in manageable sizes; not the ridiculous elephant ear size jobbies you often get. And tastes AMAZING!! The best part? Service was attentive but not intrusive. They looked for empty glasses but didn't pressure the customers. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Take a bow, Salim's. Take a bow.

Came here for a celebration dinner...Generous portion sizes, staff were lovely and attentive, the food was delicious and really good value for money. Comfortable seats and a well taken care of restaurant. One of the waiters even went and got my bf a bowl of raita when he decided to consume an entire chilli and cried. 10/10 would recommend!

Nice!! Good level for all the indian dishes tried. The service is really nice in every moment with absolutely good attention. The only point to be considered is the lack of spices in the plates, from my point of view the dishes are too occidental flatter as the real indian ones. Place to be considered if you visit the best city in UK!

I have visited Salim’s twice and had a fantastic experience both times! The food is amazing, so much flavour and beautifully presented. The staff and waiters are friendly and i had a great time.

Good food with reasonable quantity. The service was a bit rushed up l, could be because they were fully booked. Otherwise no complaints. There is a convenient car park at the back of the restaurant which is convenient!

First time here. But definitely not the last. Every thing was first class.

Third time here. First two were exceptional. Tonight not so. Starter and rice lovely but main course too salty and bland. I was offered another main course or a drink on the house, but when I declined that appeared to make it my fault. At 22.30 I was not ready for another main! The old waiter was just very rude - unbelievably so. Having looked at the other reviews online I think this might have changed hands since my last visit. Next door next time!

Lovely food and variety but wished there were bigger sharing platters for family meals.

Very nice dinner, friendly service, nice choice of curries, breads etc. No mango lassi or okra though which I usually enjoy ordering in an Indian restaurant. We appreciated the spiciness of the Madras and the garlic and coriander naan was yummy. The portions were good for sharing.

This is the best Indian food we have ever eaten! The food was a level above. The staff were very professional and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The curries were aromatic and the date and ginger naan was a innovative and delicious flavour combination. I live 3 hours away but I'm planning my return trip!

I travelled from Brighton to Loughborough (about 5 hours) for a meeting and by the time I arrived it was too late to eat out and so ordered a takeaway from Salim's. It was worth the journey just to eat their food, never mind the meeting 🙂 Will definitely be going there the next time I am in Loughborough ♥️

Last had dinner there in 2020 and food and service was good. This time starters format has changed to continental style and wasn't great. On making the observation the waiter proceeded to lecture me and so did owner who kept wiping his runny nose with his hand. Main course was good. But service left a lot to be desired except for the man behind the bar/reception.

Omg. Changed hands, same name but all else different. Holes in the wall where the previous peep removed ornaments and pictures. My Wife ordered a medium sov blanc - after 10 mins it came and was half the size of a small and full of hundreds of floaters. Here it is totally untouched. Barff. The original peeps are next door. We went to Eastern Spice. Delicious.

Walked in without an appointment, in a Friday night, and they couldn't have been more welcoming. Onion bhajis were the best I've had, and the mint sauce is amazing. Prawn Puri was delicious. Our mains were excellent as well, including a Peshwari naan that was light and fluffy and one of the best I've had. We'll definitely be back, if ever in Loughborough, again. Thank you to all the staff!

Great food and I will try them again one day. I had the curry with limes in and it was unclear whether I should eat them or not but after accidentally eating one I didn't care anymore and ate the rest. Best part of the curry to be honest!

So we have been customers of Salims for a good few years now and until recently their service has always been second to none. Their curry is excellent but the last few times we have ordered for delivery is has arrived an hour later than stated on their website, we have had the wrong food in the bag and we've needed to reheat it. Really disappointing as they really were the best curry house locally. But spending the best part of £45 for a takeaway for 2, I'd hope it'd be better.

Tasty food, but the current economic environment meant the portions felt smaller and seemed more expensive. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The dessert menu was limited.

If you want delicious curry in loughborough, Salims is the one. It’s quite expensive so probably more of a treat but a very nice treat. The curry portions are a perfect size too.

This family run restaurant will put the bigger chains such as Taste of India and Shaans on their feet. I have never had a better byriyani in a restaurant. The ambience will have Michelin star restaurants a run for their money. The staff are super friendly and make feel like you are eating at home not in a business formatted restaurant. This is the one place anyone visiting Loughborough should visit for a good time with food and drinks.

Best Indian food I've had in the UK in a year Also, very affordable. Need to try their Paneer jalfrezy if you are missing the Indian spice touch

We love Salims. Go there almost every week for curry night. Really tasty and we always have enough for leftovers the next day.

A fantastic meal at the never disappointing Salim's. Delicious food and attentive staff. Only knocked a star off as was advised they needed the table back in 10 minutes, but no-one arrived. We'd still got wine left, so it was ideal being rushed. But they weren't rude or anything
