We popped into Manchester to check out the Imperial War Museum, and decided to have lunch at The Botanist in Media City. What a good decision! Let’s start with the fact that the interior design is a feast for the eyes… and such a good vibe. I would never have thought it was a chain. The food was delicious — we ordered both the hot and vegan board. (Perfect for two people to share.) DELICIOUS. (Especially the cauliflower and garlic shrimp.) The service was good, staff was wearing masks, and it was just overall a great lunch experience. Looking forward to going back and/or visiting another location, especially to try some cocktails.

Amazing food. Nice atmosphere, clean and staff were super friendly too - we were originally seated outside and asked to move in because of the squelching heat, and they accommodated with no questions asked. We tried the hanging kebab, the chorizo was a little too salty for my liking, but the chips were on point. The only downside to it, was that they seemed to be out of ALL vegan options which was very disappointing. The way the receipt is handed out is very tech savvy, with a mini device and a quick survey you can easily split the bill and all. Definitely a lovely vibe and a must visit!

I would like to thank the staff at the Botanist Media City for making me, my partner and two dogs Teddy and Toby very very welcome and accepted. We were turned away from wagamama's and the Alchemist for dining in this evening, not to mention we've been to other places and turned away because of the dogs. In light of the COVID situation DOGS can not contract the virus and a lot of people have been purchasing dogs/puppies. The Botanist are setting an GREAT example!! We will see you all soon and thank you again...the food was amazing too!

What an excellent experience the food the service the whole place was an absolute delight.

Nothing like trying a new place to eat for lunch and in Media City in Salford. First time eating at The Botanist and really enjoyed it. Starters Scotch Egg and Calamari Mains Cheeseburger and Hanging Salt and Pepper Belly Pork It is a shame we couldn't fit in dessert as we were both stuffed! Service was friendly.

A must when you are in Media City. The chicken chorizo pie was just delicious. Perfect comfortfood on a cold day. The chicken kebabs were on point. Juicy, tender and crispy on the outside. Can't do it any better than that.

I organised a meal for 16 people and could not have been more pleased with the outcome. The booking process was seamless, allowing every member of the party to pre-order individually. On the night we had a warm and friendly greeting, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was exceptional. The relaxed yet lively ambience was perfect for our group and the night was capped off by the live music, which was brilliant. Thank you for a memorable evening.

We went there three times! The most magical non football place we visited in manchester. The staff was wonderful. Super kind and profesional. We have dinner, dessert, and Lunch there. We try different dishes and all were delicious.

Best food ever and great customer service!

The restaurant is beautiful (even if a couple of the chairs were a bit wobbly) and the staff were lovely. The food was delicious, however my husband had to go with his 4th choice of starter as the first 3 were all sold out (we were booked in for 8pm). Apart from that, it was a lovely evening and we would definitely go again.😁

We were greeted nicely by a very professional and pleasant man on the front desk. The drinks were good but the food was mediocre and felt overpriced - we had the 'hanging kebab' in which the veg was a little undercooked. Service was a little slow and could have been more attentive. Service charge was added to the bill automatically.

Food was exceptional however most items on the menu contained some kind of spice and although I have no allergies I'm not great with with spices and this kinda of spoiled my meal alittle. However I still enjoyed my food and a dessert. And the mountain blossom mocktail was really lovely too. I would return and recommend this restaurant.

I visited The Botanist with my husband and dog for their NYE party and we all had the best time ever. The live music was absolutely amazing! The staff were all incredibly, they were so friendly and made us all feel so welcome. The service was also really quick which was so amazing especially given how busy staff were. Nothing was too much for the staff. Thank you to all the team, you made our NYE a fantastic one!

Really good food. Had the burger and fries -- both were excellent. Staff was attentive, and the whole place has a cool, chill vibe. Definitely recommend the burger, and an hour to sit and enjoy the place.

Very nice lunch after a morning show at the Lowry. Friendly and helpful staff. Extensive food and drinks menu. A little disappointed by the portion size of the Caesar salad, but overall a pleasant experience.

First time visit here. We came on the Sunday for drinks during the afternoon, and returned in the evening for drinks and nibbles. They have a great selection of vegan bites which are absolutely yummy. In the early evening there was a little live music. It had a great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We even returned on the Monday because we were still in the area. We will definitely be back when we are the area again 🙏💚🙏

The Botanist – Classic British food that is heart-warming to eat Thank you for the hospitality that I received when I visited your Media City restaurant last Friday for a pre-theatre meal. Food and menu The menu is small but features all the popular British dishes that people crave. It caters for a range of diners including the Meat lover to the Vegetarian and also Fish eaters too. It is simple and is easy to read. Each dish has a good description which gives you an insight of what to expect and if there are any sauces that come with it. In the Starters section there is Calamari, Humous, Onion Petals that are moorish, Crispy Mushrooms and Chicken Wings to name a few. In the Mains section there are Pies, Fish and Chips, Steak and a range of Burgers including a Plant Based one for Vegetarians. If you have a sweet tooth then there is a White Chocolate and Hazelnut Mousse, Ice Cream and Sticky Toffee Pudding that is delicious with a Caramel sauce to name a few. There is a good drinks menu too. There is also a great selection of soft drinks and a few non-alcoholic drinks with great flavours to quench your thirst. They are a great addition to a meal. All the Starters were delicious and were beautifully presented. The Calamari was tasty. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Prawns were juicy and they melted in the mouth. It was good that they did not have the shells on them so it was easy to eat. The Crispy Mushrooms were moorish and the Onion Petals were full of flavour and were addictive to eat. For the Mains the Sweet Potato Pie was lovely in its presentation. The pastry was crisp and there was no soggy bottom. The sauce added flavour and the vegetables were a great addition. It did have a kick to it but it was not overpowering. For Desserts the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream was heaven. Its presentation was superb. It was comforting and was scrumptious to eat. The Sticky Toffee was so light and indulgent with enough Caramel. The Ice Cream was a great addition as it cuts through the Caramel adding texture. Service The service was good. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and gave good recommendations on our food choices. The food came pretty quick. It was all cooked fresh and was presented to a great standard. Lighting and Access Usually the lighting at this restaurant is dim with a few lights. However during the lighter months of the Summer the natural light comes into the restaurant. This makes your meal an enjoyable one. In relation to accessing the restaurant there is a small step to enter the building and then there are stairs or a lift to get to the first floor in which it is situated on. Parking Parking is available at the Quayside Media City UK multi-storey car park (formerly The Lowry). If you are a Blue Badge holder then you get 4 hours free when stamping your ticket at the Outlet Mall. This takes effect from the time of arrival. Alternatively you can also park at the Media City multi-storey car park. Pricing The food is at the pricey end however it is worth it especially when it is tasty and presented to a fine dining standard. It is a treat and it is nice to come here on special occasions or once a few months. If you love food that is comforting, tasty and is presented nicely then head down to your local Botanist restaurant.

The vibe and service are great, cozy and chill. Nice cocktails. It can be 4/5 #stars if it is a bar with snacks only. The food looks decent , fab for IG but they weren't that nice in mouth. My Currys does not smelled spicy bit bunch of herbs. The chicken was a little bit dry. However. The onion petals was not too bad with the seasoning. Beautiful dessert. The chocolate and peanut butter with biscuits looks and tastes fantastic.

The place is great and good atmosphere too. I do like the various rooms, the layout of the restaurant. We did like starters: truffle Camembert was delicious 😋 and the hot board as well I was less convinced by the cheeseburger, just basic, and chips were over cooked.

Love this place. Been twice recently once for breakfast and again for evening meal on Xmas Eve. They are dog friendly, as saw one post to say its only dog friendly on the balcony. That's not true at all. Can go inside no problem. Great menu and food

Amazing dinner experience!! The restaurant was able to accommodate our booking of 16 comfortably and everyone enjoyed their dishes!! We had a private dining area and a table on the heated terrace and the entire restaurant felt magical! The sharing kebab was a hit! Would definitely come back again or visit one local to my area!!

We came here for the Bottomless Brunch just after we got engaged. They pulled out all the stops with a card and free Prosecco, they really made a huge effort! Thank you to everyone who was looking after us, they were so lovely. The food was amazing too ❤️

A bit overpriced, the service is super good and friendly, the food not so much we tried the steak which was not that tasty, if you have to try something I'd recommend the fish and chips, the cocktails are pretty expensive 8-10 quid each which I think it is the usual in this kinda place. The decoration is nice

The inside decor is fab! Creates really nice atmosphere, and the food was nice too. The problem was the service. We waited about 20 minutes for a dessert menu, and after ordering cake and coffee we waited another 20min and still nothing arrived! Very disappointing as the atmosphere was great and it wasn't busy at all either.

Entry is downstairs restaurant and terrace upstairs (Lift available) Query place. Front of house friendly, arrived early, not a problem. Staff friendly, Meals were lovely, extended wait for main meals. Worth the wait. Had rum cocktails, wine & apple juice. Will be going back.

Stunning bar, great views. Although, I struggled with using the app to order drinks and one of the staff rudely told me the table we had just been seated at a few minutes before was book out in 40 minutes, also there were no reserved signs and 6 other empty tables around us.

Excellent service despite Covid restrictions, food fantastic quality - as designated driver I didn't get to sample the cocktails which the rest of my party raved about!

It was ok.the cocktails were a tad overpriced considering the amount of ice you get with them which waters them down. The hot board and deli boards were good value. My ice cream dessert was disappointing with little sauce or honey comb. The ice cream itself tasted nice.

Very nice environment here. The food is common but of high quality. I love the Spirit Inventory that they have lots of drinks for you to choose. The cider I had was amazing. I love the appetizer (calamari). The fusion of the Thai spicy sauce and cream was incredibly.

I had late lunch with my family on Sunday for my birthday and I have to say it was nice. The decor is very interesting and the restaurant is very COVID guidance compliant. The food is good, we had hanging kebabs and a hot board to split between three people. It would've been nice to receive the hot board earlier than alongside the main courses but it wasn't a deal breaker. Overall nice, decent restaurant, however I would ask that instead of throwing the dessert spoons on the table so that they go all over the place, the waiter either puts them down properly or brings them in on a plate. Also, the person mixing drinks could actually mix them rather then pour the ingredients into the glass and just leave the drink like that. But, besides these two instances we were satisfied and will definitely come back someday.

The Botanist is a great place to visit, the visuals are great and the staff are helpful. The cocktails were quite inventive and interesting. It's not pictured but the cauliflower wings were fantastic. Coming from someone who hates cauliflower, they did very well to make these as tasty as they are!! We all enjoyed out mains. I had the salt and pepper pork which was quite hard on the outside, but very soft on the inside, it was very tasty. The only downsides for me were how long we had to wait for both our main and dessert (45-50 mins for main and about 20 for dessert) and the dessert was pretty disappointing. I had the crumble and it was incredibly dry, there was no juice coming out of the fruit at all which makes me feel like the fruit was precooked and had been put in the hot dish with the topping under the grill to warm it up. I couldn't finish it unfortunately, the ice-cream helped a little with the dryness but there wasn't enough to help with it. My friend was very happy with her sticky toffee pudding though!

Came here with the wife children and mother for a treat in the afternoon and it was a great experience. Pre booking made things nice and simple and should be done at all times with Covid so not to be disappointed. Not only is it picturesque but the service was top draw considering all of the Covid restrictions taking place. Food was brought out in good time, drinks were brought to us straight away when asked and from the beginning to end it was a great afternoon. See you again soon!

Really cosy place, in MediaCityUK, with a nice atmosphere and quite nice contemporary menu. We visited during the Covid 19 outbreak and the personnel were very careful with their masks and social distancing.

Booked a table for my family in advance ( 3 weeks before) and almost 4 hours before I was called and informed that my booking was cancellend and there's no other tables available. Is true this was box on the docks and as advertised depending on the weather as a restaurant it can't be provided, but there was no reason given and also the weather is nice. Thank you for ruining a specific event without any reason and late cancellation. Due to this ''eat out'' scheme and late notification I could not find any other restaurant.
