Store is poorly staffed and poorly managed. Recently made a complaint and was offered the store manager to contact me. I agreed this and the store manager hasn't bothered to do so. Online staff have no respect for those shopping in store, and scan and go poorly managed resulting in poor attitude with in store security. Customer service is non existing in this store and the Asda brand management team.

A busy shop especially this time of year so thanks for the self service tills for a quick exit. Some bargains to be had but I’ve noticed some products prices creeping up lately. I went to have a look at the reduced items but there were 3 members of staff all talking so I couldn’t get near it but the one member of staff was waiting for another assistant to reduce the items and having them off her for herself to put away for when she finished work. I had no chance of any bargains

Asda Merry Hill Customer Services = “UNhappy to help” Refused refund on click & collect item because self-service machine was out of order. My 85 year old Aunt tried to buy an item to be told to go back & find one with a barcode, whilst two members of staff stood there manning customer service desk.

Clothing is very good and well looked after, the rest of the store however... Shocking, the amount of times I've been in here and the shelfs are empty of pretty much everything you'd go shopping for, literally went in for sugar today and it was off sale? I bet there's multiple shippers in the back and what they do have looks like it's been launched on the shelf and the store looks horrendous at anytime of day, availability is rubbish and I'd honestly avoid and go to Halesowen instead. Asda has gone downhill so much would be 1 star if clothing wasn't decent.

Not enough proper tills. They do have trolley sized and basket sized self service tills and self scan hand held machines to scan as you shop if that is what you like to do when you shop. I have mobility issues and really struggle putting everything in and out of the trolley and scanning everything through so I can't always buy everything I want because there's very few staffed tills in operation. The fruit was all starting to mould and looked very battered. Veg was much better and well priced. Staff we spoke to were knowledgeable and happy to help. Always the best till serving staff here (if you are lucky enough to be able to use a till). Clean store, the clothing area has been changed and now feels very much like a forgotten warehouse stuck on the end of the store. Own brand items have better stock recently though still not reliable. Despite news of stabilising costs... These are still rising each week in price. For such a large player in the grocery world... They do seem to be only lowering prices when they have to compete with others... Often too little too late Asda.

Your staff need to learn some manner and if they don’t like the public GET OUT FROM RETAIL, they have no people skill what so ever.

Tobacco kiosk staff are a joke. They spend more time chatting and ignoring customers than they do serving. Its so annoying

I used to be a regular at Merry Hill store, but now I prefer to go elsewhere. Over the last few months this store has turned into a disco with loud music. In fact I have received an email just today stating that Asda are now reducing noise levels in store by switching off the radio 2pm to 3pm Monday to Thursday.... So now I get it.... Blast everyones eardrums every day whilst shopping in order to encourage customers to shop within a less busy period when its now quieter and gain extra footfall. The only good thing about the noise levels is that I dont have to pay to enter the disco or be escorted by a man. Shelves are empty and they have again stopped stocking a lot of items I buy. Staff are always complaining to their colleagues that its not a nice place to work..... So I have voted with my feet and gone elsewhere. Buck your ideas up Asda.

If I'm going to be honest.. the shelves are hardly stacked... What I would like to buy is never there anymore.... To purchase which shopping you do have There's always a massive queue.... I wish there was more halal products...and change what they have had in.. All in all if you need the bare essence

Absolutely awful customer service by the old lady called Sylvia on check outs. Probably the worst customer service experience I’ve ever received. Proceeded to throw the items down to the packing area when scanning because her conversation was cut short with her friend during her working hours to actually service customers who had been waiting over 20 minutes for her conversation to end.

For such a big store it doesn't have a good choice of products. In some items they only stock premium brands so expensive. Often run out of things. Staff must be stressed as a lot are quite unfriendly. Some of the ladies on self checkout can be quite rude.

Being inside a shopping centre expect people wondering around aimlessly looking at nothing in particular. Apart from that the shop is fine. My only gripe is the abundance of staff with their trolleys filling them up for the home deliveries. They take up the isles and are quite miserable and unforgiving in their task. However I have to praise the till and self scan staff. Patient and always helpful. ASDA rewards is excellent and will keep me coming back.

Had food delivery, never again. Orange juice came that squashed it started leaking. squashed fresh cakes that are stuck to the top of the packaging. Missing items. Price is ridiculous. Will definatly be sticking to Aldi in future. Absolute joke.

Standard issue Asda's to be honest has all the normal things that you would need, I dont use Asda anymore like I used to as there prices went up far to much compared to other supermarkets, Asda price is sadly no longer a thing

Got a big clothing section, kiosk for returns and cigarettes etc, quite a spacious Asda with homewares, food, fridge and freezer aisles aswell as you section. Very clean and tidy

Appalling check-out arrangements. Avoid this store like the plague. Staff unhelpful.. Mr Walters More ... Why do I feel this way about Asda Dudley . . . There are no check out tills open. Your options are queue up at the cigarette/alcohol/lottery counter. The alternative is to look for the machine that will accept your method of payment in:- card only or cash and card. Not easy to identify these because notices are sporting Christmas trimmings! Once again queues here. By the time you pay and get out, you feel stressed out. No wonder Lidl and Aldi are becoming more and more popular. Most supermarkets could take lessons from these supermarkets - they are organised. Check-out is smooth in them. Manager of Asda 'do something positive' for unhappy customers.

I can't fault the store itself, it's one of the staff in particular who always there when I'm shopping and all he does is moan because customers put things back in the wrong place, yesterday he was telling a colleague that he was going to ask security to have a look at the cctv to see who had left an empty packet on the shelves. Jobsworth or what Let's hope he's not on security or there will be no customers.

Used the Merryhill store last night and only two checkouts with staff. This forces those that don’t really want to use the self-service into doing so.Then the CEO will crow that numbers show that self-service is most popular and reduce the normal staff service to customers. Just so wrong.

Something wrong here. Yesterday I bought a pack of British Chicken Thighs, 1.1kg @ £1.91. Straight into the fridge within 20 minutes and opened today and my word, what a stink. Then I noticed "Use by 19 September " Yesterday was 19th September! This is bad retail management. Watch the dates folks. They do and pop short dated stuff out for you to buy!

Scruffy store, got as far as the bread and cakes aisles and gave up. Loads of empty shelves, fruit and veg was a mess with green and black baskets empty and turned over, bread almost non-existent, cakes very poor, evidently there is no facing up done here. Had enough by the time I got to the Mr Kipling cakes and saw £2.75 for French Fancies, I just thought cba and went elsewhere

Very rude staff, would rate as a zero if we could. Popped in for a couple of bits early yesterday morning. We were going to return later to get our full Christmas shop but because of the rudeness that we experienced we decided that this would be our last visit and we went elsewhere.

Dear Asda Today I was abused by one of you delivery drivers. She had blocked a junction on Cole street, netherton in the DY2 area and when I asked her to move forward she told me to F off and stuck her fingers up at me. This happens at around 17:10 today 30/1120. This is not very professional or courteous of your driver and would it have happened to a more aggressive person could have resulted in her potentially getting assaulted. This does reflect on you very well and I’m sure you will be able to determine who was driving this particular van. The beginning of the registration is YF70 I didn’t catch the rest of it. The driver was a white female who looked I her late 50s wearing glasses. Perhaps a word with her might be beneficial to her to help her adjust her attitude…

Worst experience to shop in Asda, Staff member asked me to show the receipt of items in my trolley which are not even sold in store. When questioned I was told its Asda's policy which I know is a lie. Duty manager (John) was arrogant and does not want to apologise even when found out that Staff member was wrong. Shame they do racially profiled you but does not want to admit. Put a Complaint to customer service waiting for a response.

Rude and unhelpful staff. Used to do online click and collect but every time I’d have multiple out of date chilled items. Went into store today and went to pick up some meat which was out of date. Why do you have so many out of date products when you used to have staff that checked them every evening? 😳

Has all the top brands, and new products plus own brand goods at reasonable prices. Not just food but clothes and homeware. Good special offers across the board. Usually well stocked but some empty shelves at the moment, but not really the staff/stores fault. Good new loyalty programme but you need a smart phone to access it.

Have to be careful you're not run over by home shopping staff. You end up playing chicken more than buying one.

  • 3/5 Dipesh M. 2 years ago on Google
The staff are simply split into 2 groups.... Friendly and snobs. Don't worry, you'll be able to tell immediately which staff fall into which category. The friendly staff are great, as for the snobs... If you value your health then keep your eyes peeled for the Homeshop staff going round the store in oversized trolleys that they can't control. There are a few staff that whizz round the store at speed no matter how busy the store gets. Some even play games like who can crash into the most customers between 9-10am! Some staff give up and just chat openly about their personal lives and how their affairs have broke up their families 🤷 It's always an adventure when doing your shopping there that's for sure.

Absolutely terrible. I order online from this store on on a regular basis but my order yesterday turned up with 28 items missing. Was called back from the store to rearrange delivery after 4pm and now at 8am the following day it still hasnt turned up. Dispite numerous calls to the store I was unable to get through. It left me having to go out and buy more shopping to feed my child. Disgusting service.

Always helpful staff though it is undergoing a refurbishment at the moment and even the staff are finding it a struggle to remember where everything is. Otherwise a great location in the merry hill centre.

The only downside is that there isn’t a Halal butchers. A few Asdas do which is great. Everyone enjoys Tandoori chicken and Asian style spiced meat, not only Muslims. I hope this changes in the future.
