Great customer service and excellent variety of resources! Have been going to Horizon to pick up resources such as plants, substrate and lights and never been disappointed. Live stock is perfect for aquascapes and even a little room for the people like me with Nano tanks you can find a beautiful selection of shrimp, snails and fish. I even bought this little Betta and he's been perfect ever since we bought him. Every time I have walked into Horizon Aquatics I have also been greeted by polite and caring staff who are open to answering questions, provide tips and tricks to ensure your experience in the hobby is memorable and joyful. What a beautiful store. We made clear on arrival that we were there mainly to look around and not to purchase anything. Yet, we were made to feel so welcome, had a good long chat about our Koi pond at home and were given some really great insight into the aquascaping hobby. My mother is now looking forward to her retirement when she'll set up a beautiful tank like the ones we were shown at Horizon!

First time visiting Horizon aquatics and was amazed .. Quality and range of stock was amazing and shop set out with extreme level of detail . There aquascapes are amazing and managed to bag myself some amazing wild Betta .. Will have to set up another tank ready for my next visit 😂

Got this gorgeous thing in my house now thanks to this lovely couple who run a very warm welcoming place my new Aladdins Cave of delights called Horizon Aquatics. The livestock and equipment are all top quality. The only drawback is it's so good I can't stop spending money in the place 🤣

Fantastic friendly staff and WOW! What a choice they have in store, the only issue you will have with this place is not knowing where to look. As a fellow person in the aquatics trade I can honestly say if my customers are looking at getting into aquascaping seriously this is a store I will recommend.

An amazing shop and lovely people! Always enjoy going in, even if it is to look at their great tanks and livestock. Everyone is always really happy to help and have a chat about any tank setup or issues we might have. They are clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about what they do, and I do not hesitate to call them or visit them with any questions I might have. Brilliant shrimp selections, with lots of tanks and accessories to choose from, and their tank gallery is great to find inspiration for the next scape. Not another shop like it in the UK in my opinion! Would highly recommend to anyone. Very lucky to have such a great aquascaping shop near us!

This place is taking the freshwater aquatic hobby into the future. As soon as you enter the building you are aware of the calm and peacefulness there. The aquariums are out of this world. The livestock (fauna and flora) is so healthy and vibrant. The dry goods section, although some is expensive, (it is top notch gear after all) a lot is very fairly priced. The staff.....! Well, their knowledge is second to non. I thoroughly recommend a visit. It won't be your last, that's for sure!

I mean absolutely no disrespect to other aquatic shops in the area. There are some fantastic shops. But if you’re into Aquascaping, this is without a doubt the king in County Durham. I’d even go so far as saying the king in the north of England. Fantastic selection, beautiful gallery. They know what they’re talking about and take pride in their work. Every tank in their shop is a genuine work of art.

What fabulous service I had today from Charlotte and the team at Horizon aquatics. After much deliberation I came home with the most gorgeous boy .He will complete my 60 litre tank perfectly. Such sound advice and a clear passion for the aquatic life. Would recommend to all from beginner to expert.well done!

Absolutely amazing!! I could have spent all day in there, it was so relaxing and welcoming. Don't be put off by the outside as inside is stunning! Has it's own car park. It is wheelchair accessible entrance but might be a struggle getting round the store as the corridors are quite narrow but there is a back door so possibly the staff could let you in that way if you asked?? Beautiful landscaped tanks with seating area so you can just sit and watch the fish. I really didn't want to leave tbh and can't wait until my tank is cycled to go back and get my betta

Picked up a few plants on the way back from visiting family, It is honestly the best aquascaping shop I have been to pristine conditions for plants and livestock. The staff were extremely helpful even if I did have to interrupt the guy doing maintenance to the livestock tanks. The showroom is a thing of beauty.

I called for some advice and as a result placed an order. I placed an order at 1pm yesterday and it arrived at 10am this morning. Amazing service! I will definitely be contacting them for more in the next few weeks. Highly recommend.

Visited this store yesterday and it's absolutely beautiful. The team were very welcoming and happy to help. I just wish I had known about this store before I started my tank. It's really well done, it's almost like taking an Apple store and an Aquatics store and mixed them together - the showroom was amazing.

Popped in after driving from Scotland, place was really clean, owners & staff were extremely hospitable and made me feel really welcome even though I wasn't purchasing anything (yet!). Display tanks were stunning, I'm going to be visiting again when I next can. Keep up the amazing work!

Absolutely fantastic, well worth the journey. Very well laid out and a great range. All of the fish appear very healthy and the tanks are all clean and well kept. Staff very friendly and helpful, will be making this journey again regularly.
