Beautiful and vast! Exceptionally well-kept native prairie and wetlands, representing the best of Illinois's natural landscapes. An excellent stop for birders, especially for sparrows and waterfowl. Next time we pass through the area, my wife and I will certainly be visiting again, as it's just a quick jog off the freeway.

Love to walk the trails here. Changes in grade provide a good cardio walk. Trails are well groomed.

Truly a beautiful place. If you walk far enough you can't hear any cars, only birds and the wind.

Getting back to nature here was worth the afternoon stop and stroll. I wasn’t the only one walking the serene trails. Another photographer was out and about that day and a gentleman on horseback was enjoying it as well. So cool he and his horse have the option to ride in such an amazing and natural habitat.

Huge park to walk or bike with little parking but free & with a portable potty station.

Great place for a walk. It would be even better if there were a few more restrooms along the paths.

Very enjoyable walking trails. Considering it was the beginning of March, it wasn't that pretty and there weren't many birds, but the trails were well-kept and clean.

First time coming here with family. Haven't walked all trails yet but it's very peaceful here. Bring insect repellant if you want to fo in the deeper trails by the woods learned the hard way.

This place is amazing and is very well planned out to both help the local ecosystem but also as a great public space for a beautiful walk and take in some nature. Not busy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in June. Be sure to stop at the bench under the giant elm(?) tree on the north side of the sanctuary. Beware of ticks, the low grasses there are full of them and they will crawl up your shoes and your dogs’ legs. Found 11 on us and dog!
