Went there for the $5.00 burger with a choice of sides. Food and service were excellent as usual. They have awesome breakfast specials and the best Nacho appetizer I can find. A real nice place to enjoy a sporting event with a beautiful bar that is a treat to see in a newer building.

Absolutely avoid this place!! Placed a pick up order. Told 20 minutes, took more than 40 and the place wasn't busy when I came in. Waitress/bartender talking on her cellphone with no sense of urgency. 14 bucks for that country skillet in the photo which tasted about as bad as it looked. No eggs like it's supposed to have on it. Where's the gravy?! Corned beef hash was 5 bucks and it's literally a dollar can or Hormel. They also charge EXTRA for carry out but don't provide any napkins or silverware. Rude service, cheap owners, and mediocre, overpriced food that they don't even get right. Go literally anywhere else!!!

Oh my......what a pleasant experience ! I had the Blue Gill Dinner...haven't had fish that good since I was a a kid growing up in good ol' Wisconsin. Not to mention the bartender/server, Janet. She is an ABSOLUTE treasure. Loved her the minute she came to our table. We are both Janet's & of Polish heritage ..need I say more!

Food and service were good. Not many fries but food was good. We had turkey club and BBQ sliders. Not the easiest place to get into on Algonquin RD but manageable. Plenty of parking.

Went for St.Pattys day. Service was absolutely terrible, like we forgotten. Soup was watered down potato, not a single potato to be found. Mashed potatoes were literally ice cold and had some weird spice in them. Fish fry was just editable at most , more breading than fish. I've been coming here since the place opened and have never had a terrible meal as tonight. Use to have a cook who did an awesome job . So whats up ....no more pride ?

I guess if I could give FREDDIE'S WEST END in Lake Geneva 5 stars, I can do this for COLEMAN'S. (Crystal Lake only). Both places are small "hole in the wall" bars and restaurants. Both have very limited seating. Both only have a fish fry on Friday. But both have the best fried fish I have had anywhere in the Chicagoland area. We went especially for the "bluegills" which is something VERY FEW restaurants offer anywhere in this area. Also, they both serve exceptional choices of other fish that you won't find just anywhere. Both places will bread and cook your fish to order if you ask. Both offer very good potato pancakes, though Freddie's is definitely the winner here. WARNING. !! Do not go to either place unless you can tolerate a noisy bar type atmosphere. If you are looking for pretentious surroundings, best stay away from either place. But the waitstaff at either place are nice and very accomodating. And finally, the prices !! - - - - $11.99 for any type of fish at Freddie's and $12.95 for most fish choices at COLEMAN'S, who does have an "all you can eat" choice as well. Both places are a little out of the way but it makes a nice road trip if nothing else. I doubt seriously if you will be disappointed in the food at either place.

Favorite place ever!

Very nice, small, cozy place. Food is great, prepared right behind the bar as it should be. It is that neighborhood bar and grill, doesn't just feel it. Wait staff and patrons, as always are the intrical part of the equation that makes this a great place.

Venue doesn't seem like it would be much of anything at first glance. However, the burger and the cheese pizza we had were excellent. Good cold beer and food is all you can ask for. Recommended for sure.

I LOVE this little place! I had a philly cheesesteak that was delicious! They literally have THE BEST FRIES Ive ever had!! ***Update***!! We have been back to this great place a couple of different Friday's for the "All You Can Eat Cod." So delicious!! My boyfriend ate 16 pieces the first time!!!!! Can’t order if you don’t answer your phone. Called four times over the span of an hour. Also if you don’t open until 9am you should have google change your hours. Also you serve breakfast but don’t open til 9? Missing a lot of business. I won’t bother trying again.

My second visit. I had the best cheeseburger I’ve had in ages. I went kind of late in the evening after a LONG day at work. Just a few minutes before the kitchen was closing so I wasn’t sure if it would be good. Too tired to cook, but really did not want fast food. Ordered the bleu cheese burger and it was delicious. With tater tots! Which I haven’t had since I was a kid. It was very relaxing. Nice music. Friendly efficient service and good food. Winner! I will be back and this will become a regular stop after work for a friendly easy dinner.

Large bar with many high top tables. We used the a side room for a private birthday. We had pizza and it was a very good even though it could have been cooked a little longer to get the crust a little crunch to it. Are service was great also.

We went to this restaurant after a long day, very disappointed everything we picked to order they didnt have, which was half of the menu. Waitress was super cool and sweet the rest of the staff was super cool. Really disappointed that they didnt have any food.

My husband mentioned wanting breakfast. I was a little hesitant when I saw that this place offered all day breakfast. But I thought hey, let's give it a shot. Boy are we glad we did! My only complaint is that it was very loud. But it is a bar so that's kind of a given. As far as service went it was lovely with the exception of I could have used a drink filled refill slightly quicker. Would definitely go back again.

My Mom loves going there for the hot beef open sandwich which is always good. They only had one server for lunch who also took care of the bar area so it wasn't the fastest service but the girl was polite. It did however take a very long time to get our food.

Went here to watch the NFL playoffs. The space was huge and there are enough TVs to ensure you have a good experience from anywhere in the bar. The food was delicious and everything seemed priced appropriately.

Went here last Friday...my husband had the fish and chips. The fish was 4 Small pieces and a plateful of fries. The fish was larger and better before the menu change. Came with soup, my husband had to ask for..the server acted like it was to come with the entree, not before. He won't be getting this again...unless the bigger fish pieces come back!!!

We usually really enjoy this place, but we didn’t even get served this night. They said they were a bit backed up, but after we were sat we waited for 15 minutes and never received menus or silverware, and the waitress walked by us 6 times without looking in our direction, so we left. We will think twice before trying donkey next time.

My son and I went to The Donkey Inn Bar & Grill located in Algonquin. He went with the Flat Bread Caprese w/Chicken and, I chose the Hot Roast Beef. The description for my meal does say "sliced" roast beef but, it seemed more like Italian Beef. Roast beef is a totally different cut of meat, yeah!? Because of that, I give it a "2." My son liked his flat bread. They do have other items on the menu that sound good. I would probably give it another shot and try something different.
