$$ This is the local winery/brewery you want to go to. It's been in Algonquin for a number of years and is one of the best places to drink and eat that won't break the bank. Rumor has it that some "chain" brewery is also moving into Algonquin. Given the choice, I'm sticking with Village Vintner. Not only does the Vintner have well prepared food, it has a nice atmosphere and weather permitting, nice outdoor seating. In addition, several years ago, we signed up for their monthly reward program, and although there's a nominal monthly fee, it is well worth it. We have the beer and wine option that includes a free tasting once a month plus a free growler refill and free bottle of wine each month as well. The beauty part of it is you can take the refill or bottle home or you can opt to have it as part of your dine in meal! And if you don't have time to collect your beer/wine in a month, no worries, you don't lose it, and you can get the ones you missed in subsequent months! Best deal to enjoy a couple of date nights a month! And for parents, children are welcome as well.

Not only did we have a bad experience, see below...Hair in Food, but emailed management and never received a response. Was not a nasty email, just relating the experience and disappointment. Won't be going back. That's Poor management. Stopped by around 4:45 on a Thursday, guess they don't do lunch anymore. COVID, turnover, blah blah. Came back at 5:30, split a sandwich and ordered 2 beers. We had to cut the sandwich ourselves, 1st bite...pulled a long blond hair out of my mouth! Stuff happens, server apologetic, made us fresh sandwich, but my wife was too grossed out to eat. I was starving, so I ate half. Our little dinner date was spoiled a little. Management did not even offer to comp the 2 beers! C'mon! Not our first time there. You want customers to come back, make an effort. I emailed the restaurant same night, no reply after 72 hours. Screw you Village Vitner. Forgot to mention, I recently opened a bottle of village Vitner wine that a friend gave me for Christmas. He gave his sister a bottle also. Coincidentally, she opened her bottle a day before I did. Both wines tasted like vinegar. One sip and down the drain. Thought wine stayed good past 5 months, not from village vitner.

I wanted to love this place. I truly did. The wine was great. Service was reeeeeeally poor though. The staff was standing at the back wall while my table had to ask for water twice. We ordered vegan pizza (its an actual thing on the menu!) and the waitress obviously didn't understand what vegan meant, as she kept offering different cheeses and cream sauce on it. Definitely can be concerning because you want to assure that no miscommunication is made when it comes to that kind of food. Friend ordered a white whine and was given a red one. Service was soooo slow.

Service is absolutely terrible, I approached the wine tasting counter with 3 bottless of wine with full intentions to purchase, I got the attention of a woman working behind the counter and she looked at me and walked away without saying a word. I then waited another 5 minutes patiently, she made eye contact with me multiple times times but still didnt acknowledge that I have not been helped. I then stared to walk up to the front desk to try an purchase the wine. I walked past another person who worked there and he too did not acknowledge the fact that i had 3 bottles in my hand and i was walking towards the exit.

Over priced, bad service, small portions, mediocre beer. Wife ordered a glass of wine, waiter came back and said they were out, she ordered another type and they charged for both glasses. Brought wrong beer ordered. I ordered mussels with additional pasta, came with egg noodles which I don't consider pasta. Other couple ordered wraps and chips, $11 and $14, wraps were pitifully small, sidewinder potato looked like it was one small potato. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Went on a Sunday night around dinner time on a whim because I've been meaning to check It out. Casual attire. It's upscale but totally laid back. Restaurant ambiance is decent. Bar type atmosphere. Several TVs to watch large bar area and table tops. Outdoor patio. A little weird that it's a part of a Doctor's office building which kinda takes away from it but decent enough. They do have a large wood grill on site which is cool to see. Seated quickly and server checked on us right away and got drink orders in. Wife and I each ordered craft beers. She a nice cocoa Stout and myself a Juicy IPA. LOVED the stout. Juicy IPA was decent. Good, but not amazing. Flavor could have been a little bolder. Great prices on all the beers and they have many on tap. All locally made in-house. Growlers available as well. Really enjoyed the Fang Banger Blood Orange IPA. Tastes and smells AMAZING. Wife and I both ordered German fare that they have for Oktoberfest. She ordered a Wurst plate and I ordered the Wienerschnitzel. They were both VERY tasty. There was a couple of the sausages that my wife had that were some of THE BEST sausages I've ever had... Schnitzel breading was PERFECT and golden brown. very tasty and crispy but meat was still tender and juicy. Joined the growler club as well since 14$ base price was too good to pass up. My only complaint was the bar was a little slow pumping out drinks even though there was only a few people in there other than us. Kinda was weird because we were sitting right close to the bar and could see our server standing around waiting for our beers to be poured by the Bartender. Server was nice about it and kept apologizing even though we could tell it wasn't his fault. I will be back again to try different beers as well as the wines they make on site as well. Great variety of food available on the menu as well. Prices are all reasonable for what you are getting. A very solid local restaurant.

The service we received was amazing. My wife and I were able to enjoy a couple of pizzas with our youngest daughter. The cheese plate and those roasted little balls of lettuce cooked in teriyaki sauce were also on point! My wife & daughter said the wine was good aswell. This isn't our first time and won't be the last. Thank you for good food and good service.

Had a wonderful experience of drinks and dinner. Our waitress was attentive & helpful (needed to avoid certain foods due to allergies). Our food and drinks were tasty. I had their Zin and my mom had a cider, we shared the burrata and Napa pizza.

Ok so this is sad, hostess was nice and seated us quickly but waited forever for someone to come. 15 minutes after, still no server came over. We saw a server walked past by us a few times. Not even a greeting or saying I’ll be right with you. So we patiently waited for another 15 minutes because we did not want to be rude. A total of 30 minutes completely ignored. So we left and nobody even said anything. I dont know about this one, Im pretty good about reviews but I just had to warn customers. Be prepared to wait.

I've been there several times over the years. This was my last. So many places with better food. Everything we had was mediocre. Update 3/'21 I used to love the corn beef and cabbage they served on St. Patrick's Day, it used to be so tender you could cut it with a fork. That is no longer the case. We had gotten that dish for a carry out this past St. Paddy's day. The corn beef was tough, and the cabbage wasn't even cooked. The only thing that was cooked well were the potatoes and carrots. I know that chef in restaurants tend to turn over often, and that is what must have happened here, food was good the first few years, all that has changed. I will never go back.

Amazing wine list along Randall Road with open hearth wood fire oven that gives comfort to body and soul. Also the flames within the oven provides a contemplative distraction from the outside world. Then there is a menu that compliments a very expansive wine list. But again as the Bard said, What's in a name.

The service is extremely poor. We were lucky if our waitress came by every half hour. It took forever to get our drinks and for her to come back for our food orders. We definitely sat empty for a long period of time. They were busy but for a 1pm lunch on a Friday I would expect to get some service. We would probably not go back.

Great selection of wines and beers. I had a beer sampler and my wife the wine sampler. We particularly liked a peach wine, not too sweet and we'll be back just for that. I enjoyed the brisket and the brick oven pizza was to die for. Nice atmosphere for a date or casual outing with friends. The carrot cake is delicious as well, just make sure to ask for a to-go platter as the portion is huge. Great the next morning with your coffee!

I have been there numerous times. The Dill Salmon is very good. Recently I tried the Vintner wrap. That was also very good & reasonably priced. Had a bite of my boyfriends pizza. Loved it. It's different in a good way. The crust was slightly sweet. Not a lot of sauce but very very good. If I don't get the Dill Salmon next time, I will get the pizza. Oh we have also had the Wine. Not disappointed at all I loved it!

Wine and food were good but we were continually rushed due to kitchen closing. Before we arrived we knew the kitchen closed at 8:30 but the winery itself closed at 9:30. We arrived at 6:30 and proceeded to the tasting room. We ordered an appetizer there and said we might have dinner after the tasting. At 7:30 we were told we better wrap it up if we wanted to order food. We then proceeded to the hostess who reminded us the kitchen closed in an hour and we needed to hurry up with our order. We sat down and within 30 seconds the server again said kitchen is closing so hurry with our selections. We ordered one sandwich to split. My friends plate was taken away before she even finished her food. The check was dropped off and a minute later the server said we had to hurry as the kitchen was closing. I am not sure how the payment process has anything to do with the kitchen closing. It’s really too bad we had this experience because we felt the wine and food were good. With surviving the pandemic you would think this establishment would of welcomed guests and appreciated the patronage. We will not be back nor will we recommend.

It was really good, I had the swordfish special, it was grilled nicely, had nice caper lemon sauce and came with some lightly sautéed kale, which I'm not fond of but it was ok, they even let me get mashed potatoes instead of the polenta that usually comes with it, those were delicious. The service was very good, friendly and attentive. Also had a glass if the cocoa stout which was a little different but good.

Super dissatisfied. Had an excellent experience on 9/21 and my oldest daughter was in town so I wanted to return . Arrived, service was slow. Server brought two of the three entries and I waited until they were finished until I was served. No comp. The bill for three without tip was $150. Totally bummed and will not return.

Our server was Montana. He was SO attentive, knowledgeable, and kind! I’ve never had a better experience here. Our pizza was brought out and he was the one who noticed if the chicken wasn’t on it before we even did. I would come back here just because of the service provided by him!

Constantly harassed to order and leave from the moment we sat down. Have been coming here for 10+ years, so this is a remarkable decline in service. I would suggest going elsewhere until they find a way to correct this downward trajectory. There are many other businesses more deserving of your money at the moment.

My wife and I went to this restaurant with a few of our friends a couple Fridays ago during the bad storms. I have to say that this place is the perfect place for adults who want to have some drinks, watch sports, and eat good food, while enjoying a conversation without a lot of loud noise. When entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and seated since we had a reservation. It was very clean inside and not very empty. Our waitress came and waited on us not too long after being seated and brought us our drinks. My wife and I ordered the Burrata for our appetizer and our friends ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. Both appetizers were really good. For the main course meal, my wife ordered the fish special and the rest of us ordered the Bistro Medallions with the garlic parmesan topping. The steak medallions came out hot, fresh and made to order. My wife really liked the fish special. Overall the food was very good. There are a few things that I didn't enjoy very much, which is why I took off a star. They are minor items, but can be a deal breaker to some. 1. The Burrata appetizer was $15.99 and way too expensive for the small serving size that came to the table. I feel this is perfect for one person to eat. 2. The garlic parmesan topping on the steak medallions didn't have much flavor. If you had the topping at Longhorn, then this isn't even a comparable topping. The steak was delicious though. 3. There were several times during our dinner that the waitress would not come back to the table to check up on us. We waited a good ten minutes after we finished our appetizer before our dinner order was taken. Our check took way too long to be brought to us. The waitress did a very good job overall and went above and beyond when she did some to the table.

The experience I had at the Village Vintner in Algonquin was flawless. We started with a pre-dinner drink. I opted for their "Princess" Red, which was probably one of the best glasses of red I've had in a long time. Then we ordered the cheese board, which was not just your typical board of semi-interesting cheeses and meats. The varieties on offer from this platter were far richer in flavor and paired perfectly with the spreads included. My friend was very pleased with his meal as well. The chef did a fantastic job and I can't wait for my next excuse to eat out because I'm eager to go back to try more of the menu, both the dinner menu and the wine menu.

Bartender was slow, and condescending when we asked a question regarding the mussels appetizer we ordered. Their wines and beers aren't good, and everything is WAY overpriced even in this economy. We have tried this place 4 times, and never had a good experience. Won't be back anymore.

Village Vintner is a great place!! The wine is fantastic and there is a wine for everyone. If you prefer beer, they have a great selection of beer they brew on site. The food is delicious with a wide variety including a wood fire oven for amazing pizzas. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. I highly recommend Village Vintner.

I came here for a wine tasting and my experience was ruined because of the sommelier making disrespectful comments. We all have different tastes, and I shouldn't be given shame if I didn't like a wine.

Village Vitner is a very nice place for dinner or social gatherings! We had the Schaumburg Wine Meetup group attend on a Thursday evening and had a fabulous time! The manager, Janet, was very accommodating and service was very good. We had teriyaki Brussels sprouts and a wood fire pizza with their cabernet saugivnon. Delicious! The facilities are well-maintained. Prices are a little on the higher end, but expected for this area. I expect this will become a go-to place for me as well as the wine group. I was very impressed!

This is only the third negative review I have written in the history of google, but my visit was so bad I feel I have to share. The hostess greeted us very nicely and sat us in a beautiful setting outside table. The service staff was very friendly and brought a decent bottle of wine relatively quickly. That's where it ended. We placed our order and took nearly 2 hours to get our food, and it was not nearly as good as the description in their specials menu. Moral of the story, we went for a quick dinner and spent 2 and a 1/2 hours and over $200. No more!!

I really don’t even want to get into it but you’re better off at Olive Garden. Really that bad for the price. Frozen and then rehydrated pasta is what she the manager apologized for that was severely undercooked on a $27 seafood Alfredo dish with tiny overcooked scallops and undercooked pasta. Never, ever again. The wood fired pizza was pretty good after they made it right the second time but nothing better than your standard wood fired Mod Pizza in a strip mall. I’m not comparing your restaurant to the Olive Garden, just telling future customers to go there instead. It’s not even fair to compare your restaurant to something like a Francesca’s, any of their locations because your food and service isn’t in the same league. Then the audacity for you to try and defend it. Just own it and say, I’m sorry about your bad experience, we are taking measures to fix the issue. Scratch kitchen? Why don’t you guys just make your own fresh pasta in-house instead of importing it. Or find someone that knows how to cook the noodles. The other sad thing is the waitress blamed the pizza cooks for missing an ingredient on the first pizza, she said I put it on the ticket, I’ll have them make another one. Checked the receipt when I got home and the third ingredient wasn’t on there. Whoever is running this place is setting the accountability example and they just don’t have any. Just read the unprofessional replies from whoever is running this place and that should fill you in. By far the best thing about this place was there was no wait to sit down to eat on a Friday night at dinner time. That should have threw up a red flag. Now we know why. If you want a meal with great service that matches the price of the menu, go to one of the Francesca’s restaurants. If you’re thinking about trying this place you’re better off eating the frozen section food at Olive Garden. Keep up the good work, I’m sure everyone is wrong about their bad experiences at your scratch kitchen restaurant and that’s why your rating is so low. I will definitely share my experience. I’m sorry if it hurts your business but you only have yourself to blame for that sinking ship.

Very disappointed. Came here to celebrate my wedding anniversary after seeing so many good reviews. We waited 15 minutes for a server to even notice we’d been seated. By that time we’d each picked out our wine flights. Waited another 15 for those by which time I’d drained my water. Had to ask 3 separate times for a water refill before I got one. We’d based our wine selections on what we planned to order, but the server had forgotten to mention they were out of multiple menu items. Waited another 45 minutes for our food and my husband’s was cold when it arrived. Had to ask a bus boy for a take home box and he tossed us the smallest size available. My husband ended up raiding the service station to get me a big box because we didn’t see our server again until the check came. She rang us up separately because she said we looked like we’d want to pay separately - on our anniversary?? And we weren’t the only ones. Tables around us were asking the bus boy for water and menus. One table didn’t even get the right food. Sloppy service. Does not match the price you’re paying for the food.

The service was good and wine were delicious as always. The food on the other hand was burnt and over cooked. Very disappointed that the only good dish that came out well was the pulled pork mac n cheese. The only reason that I'm giving 3 stars is because of past visits were the food was great too.

This place was jumping on a Saturday night. It was packed, they told us the wait would be 20-30 minutes but we only waited 10 minutes with a party of six. We ordered the pretzel bites and the fresh mozzarella. Highly recommend the mozzarella, they make it fresh there. We got two flights of wine. Our favorite was the Pomegranate and Berry, the flavored wine and beer is made there. The red wines are served cold. Very good, very sweet. Three of us got the half rack with the sweet sauce, very tasty. Virginia was our server and she was so nice, like a cool mom with a great laugh.

So I’m not sure if our service was poor due to lack of staffing, so I am giving a 2 because I assume that was the issue. Also giving a 2 because the wine was great but.... First thing, when I walked in to meet up with friends who were already there, the waiter kind of acted as if I wasn’t there when the first round of wine was dropped off for the others. I had to stop the waiter as they were walking away to place my drink order in. No greeting or asking me if they could get me anything when clearly saw me sitting there. That didn’t bother me that much until it took 15 minutes to get my single glass of wine. It was like that the whole night. So we realized when they finally drop the wine off at the table, we had to immediately ordered another one because it would take a very long time before it came out. The table next to us must have known the bar tender because they were getting their drinks immediately and the drinks were served to them by the bar tender and not the waiter they had. We then ordered the pretzel bite appetizer and that was delicious. When we ordered our entrees, it came out in a timely manner... but I ordered the steak medallions and my steak was completely cold to the touch just as everything else on my plate was. I told the waiter about it and they took it back and I think they microwaved it but that took at least 5 minutes And when it was brought out to me again, it was still cold. At that point I didn’t even care because I was hungry and clearly no matter what happened it wasn’t going to be warm. To top it off, the steak had absolutely no flavor. I rarely have to ask for steak sauce but I had to because it was so flavorless. I ended up barely eating it and ate everything else on the plate. Honestly the overall experience and entree was horrible. I was hoping to love this place but my first experience left me never wanting to go back.

We have been club members for over 1 1/2 years. We have noticed that the prices have gone up for food and serving size is much smaller. Vintage burger is much smaller with about 5 or 6 curly fries. Surf and turf 33.00 for a little larger than a couple bites of steak with 5 shrimp!! Portions are very small with a big price change. Will probably be canceling membership.

Horrible experience and won’t bother going back. Food took forever and once it finally came it was less than mediocre. Kids had pizza that tasted like burnt crust and pepperoni. I had a burger that was cooked med-well when med-rare was ordered. Burger was not tasty either. Their fries were good but that’s about it. All this to say that it is an absolute premium price for this awful experience. Everything is completely overpriced. I do not recommend!

I go here quite often and i've never had a bad experience. The wait staff is always prompt and courteous. My favorite meals would be the teriyaki salmon and the vintner wrap.
