Recent secret spot find. This is a great place to walk along the river south to the railroad bridge. I didn't make the full trek yet. There is boat ramp here. Plenty of parking. And it's all free.

Easy to launch small craft boats. There are two islands. One you can walk to when the river is low. If you boat to the other island, there is rustic camping. No cost. There is a bathroom on the big island.

Easy river access with the boat launch. I was surprised by how close King Island is. The water was flowing fairly calmly near the boat launch but picks up a lot of speed further south along the island. I would watch out for that when kayaking. Nice little trail headed south from the parking lot. There was quite a bit of beaver activity along the trail today though I didn't see any myself. Will be back when the weathert gets a little warmer to explore with kayaks!

I find this little trail running along the Connecticut river simply mesmerizing. The views are pretty, and the sound of birds chirping along the trail is amazing. It's an easy trail and most likely you will be seeing and certainly hearing the noise from the passing train during your walk. Oh and you can see a train bridge too, kind of a nice sight.

Not much too it. You do get clear access to the river and the walking path to the left was ok.

It has some nice views. I wish the path was wider though. I'm always worried of my dog and I getting ticks.

Relatively quiet, and a nice place to watch the sunset and feed some ducks

Not much here. Boat ramp is shallow, no more than 3 ft water. Good for canoes / kayaks.
