Move here if you want 1) things missing from your apartment from maintenance having access to your apartment. 2) your neighbors complaining about crowbar marks at the door when they come home 3) your car being broken into in their parking garage 4) people constantly trespassing into the building and homeless people living in the garage stairwell 5) your packages being broken into and/or stolen multiple times 7) the elevators breaking down on a monthly -biweekly basis 6) the property managers washing their hands from the severe security issues in their buildings Every 5 star review is fake, every person living in this building is looking to move out. Yes the rooms are spacious, yes it’s in a prime location, yes it’s a couple hundred dollars less than the luxury apartments in the area. However, it’s not worth your security and peace of mind. This has been a problem for years now and the current management doesn’t care about your well being, $$$$ is all they care about.

On move in day, he (a guy named Sam) showed us to the wrong apartment (literally a completely different layout/number of bedrooms and bathrooms from what was agreed upon). He eventually moved us the next available unit that matched our criteria (after insisting that we were wrong). We were promised a carpet cleaning since the apartment that we were moved into seemed to have either just been vacated or not properly cleaned. This cleaning never occurred despite multiple reminders. The most egregious act was when he once entered my apartment while on FaceTime with a possible renter while I was in my underwear in the living room. He proceeded to show our apartment without acknowledging my presence and badmouthing us. His lack of manners and courtesy was disturbing to say the least. The front office rarely held up their end in terms of promises or tasks that needed to be completed. They never set up our intercom to buzz people in. I had packages that went missing for months until I was finally able to convince them to check their offices where the packages magically appeared. If anything was completed, it followed numerous requests over a long periods of time. I lived here during 2020 and got the lease for an alright price, we got our deposit back with little issue, but I would avoid this company and these people. Shame because Orange St. is actually very cute.

I love living here. The new management is doing great work in terms of renovating, beautifying the space, and providing events for residents to attend. Also the maintenance crew deserves a special shout-out for how hard they work keeping this area spotless. I have the best neighbors. This is a friendly and super diverse community. I also just love being walking distance from a grocery store, sooo many restaurants, plant/flower shops, pharmacies, and parks. The only issue I have, is that I wish there were better storage options for bicycles.

Very loud obnoxious and invasive fire alarm system that lasts for 20min and pumped directly into everyone's apartment like North Korean propaganda that can't even be dampened. Can't swap out appliances for better more modern ones. And they need a tenant portal to change phone access or they should introduce access code system. They could use some more amenities for what they charge as other places have swimming pools and this place only has a(I'm assuming aspirational?)picture of one. Staff are generally pretty good though and building is kept clean.

I am dissatisfied with the whole process.I called and spoke to several office workers. And I told them that I wanted to apply. For an apartment that goes by your income. They told me that I was approved for a 2 bedroom 2bath apartment.then I was told that I was number 24 on the list and a couple of weeks later they told me that I was22. And then they told me that I didn’t qualify.I needed to make5600 I’m on social security and as my roommate.we were so excited to be moving there. I have called to speak with Ryan and they told me he would call. No phone calls. So I am disappointed that I can’t move there

Ninth Square Apartments is the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. Located in downtown New Haven, there are plenty of great places to eat and things to do within walking distance. The Ninth Square, within which the apartments are located, is a peaceful and safe area far enough away from the more frequented areas of the city. The apartments are newly renovated, feel luxurious, and are fairly priced. The management team and maintenance staff are excellent, friendly, and professional. Whether you work in the area or attend one of the nearby universities, such as Yale or the University of New Haven, I highly recommend making Ninth Square Apartments your home.

As a former resident, I can say the Ninth Square Apartments are a well-appointed, clean, quiet, and community-oriented complex in the heart of downtown New Haven. Management is personable and accommodating while providing the guarantees of a large organization. Shoutout to William and the maintenance team for always keeping the grounds shipshape. —Tom C.

I am a former resident and I loved living @ Ninth Square Apartments. It’s a great location. Their management is extremely friendly and helpful. The maintenance worker Dave is the absolute best. He is kind, respectful, and all around helpful. He is truly great at his job. I recommend this property to anyone in the New Haven area. I felt cool as hell living here.
