Finally had a chance to try this legendary seafood spot and it definitely lived up to the hype! The chowders were amazing I had a mix of the New England and the Manhattan it was outstanding the clam strips were crispy and fresh as well as the calamari and the home made tarter sauce and and cocktail sauce was great with it as well can’t wait to have this place again!

I had read about this place in a few different places and have been meaning to check out a place renown for its fried offerings. I came with my son and since the portions are large, we could only try a few things. We ordered the New England Clam Chowder, the fried clam strips, fried oysters (more for my son), and the onion rings. First, we ordered a cup and it must be a large serving since they generously offered to split it for us and we ended up with a good sized portion cup each! The soup was thick and hearty and chock full of clam meat and potatoes. The clams and oysters were perfectly fried with just enough breading to balance against the meat. But if we’re being honest, the onion rings were simply amazing. My son is particular about food and he was talking about the o-rings for days afterwards. The onions were crispy as well as the crispy breading. And for all the frying - nothing was oily. Amazing! The service was good and there appeared to be rigorous cleaning of tables as people left. Yes, the decor is … cozy but, hey, it’s a fried food shack. Yes, it’s a bit pricy for what it is, but as a guilty treat, wonderful.

Been coming here for years. This is a staple of the neighborhood for great fried seafood. I love the New England clam chowder here it's amongst the best that you'll find anywhere. Good things to try are the fish and chips, the fried Ipswich clams and fried oysters. All very good all very fresh and all cooked to order. They have since expanded to the exterior wood for additional seating. This is great because it allows more people and less of a wait. The staff are amazingly attentive quick to serve and very polite. They now accept credit cards so that's a great plus. Always a worth while trip. The only thing that stops me from going more often is the fact that it's all fried, but oh... it tastes so good.

My 5-Star rating is based on taste and freshness of the food, cleanliness of the restaurant, and above average staff/service. I've driven by Bigelow's quite a few times and decided to make a stop for some fresh seafood. I am huge on customer service and staff are extremely friendly, which made it even more enjoyable. Thanks Anthony! I felt like family. I ordered the grilled salmon sandwich with lettuce, tomato and grilled onions with a side of cole slaw. It was a nice portion of fresh fish, beautifully grilled and juicy. Cole slaw was okay, but it was all about the seafood for me. Definitely coming back for more. The only thing I would do different is dine-in, instead of takeout. I had a long drive home!

My wife and I just ate here for the first time. We had the fried clam strips (of course), the onion rings and the calamari. Everything was super fresh, and though fried nothing was greasy. Big portions and excellent service. We'll definitely be back!! Also, though there is only indoor seating, all the windows are wide open and plenty of ventilation, so we fealt very safe eating indoors.

A hidden gem 💎 in Rockville Center. Great fresh seafood 🦞. Lite Batter on all fried items. Not a heavy oil taste. Nice staff. Credit Cards 💳 accepted. Plenty of locals dine here. We will definitely be going back.

Best clam chowder! Spot on lobster roll 🦞 Prices have gone up over the years like everything else. Perennial quality and charm remain worth every penny! Old timey counter service still closed; might come back in the future. Don’t miss some of the best seafood on the Island!

We haven't been to Bigelow's New England Fried Clams in a while and decided to stop in today. A few things have changed since we were here last. Two positive things they implemented are the expanded permanent outdoor dining area, and they now take credit, which we didn't know. It's either credit or digital wallets now. We had the Lobster rolls, hot and cold. And calamari to start. Both were done nicely with no complaints. They have an attentive and friendly staff to boot. Hope to visit again soon.

Bigelow’s is a Rockville Centre gem. The best fried clams you will find around. They have very generous portions as well. I Have been coming here for over many years and it’s always consistently good. The staff have always been friendly as well.

Bigelow's has been here on Long Island for a long time. And there's a reason which I, and based on my visit today, many others still appreciate. It's one of the rare restaurants around where there are NO compromises in quality. And when you're selling cooked seafood, that's hard to pull off. Once one of the east coast's greatest sources of shellfish in the country, Long Island has not been able to maintain that status for many reasons, especially as a consistent source for the famous soft shell clams. I am glad that Bigelow's is thriving and able to source the best of this dwindling resource. I've had "Ipswich" fried clams in all the northern coastal states and Vermont and these are some of if not THE best! p.s. you can now use a CC. Bring it.

I was a bit hungry, so I stopped in and saw they had a scallop sandwich ( which I love scallops) but never had it in a sandwich, so I thought I'd give it a try. Fried scallops, on a bun, nothing else on it. And a side of slaw. I travel for food, just food across the country, at least twice a month. So I'm serious about finding good foods. I took a bite, and there was zero flavor. I took off the breading and tried it separately. The breading had no flavor, and the scallops had no flavor, not even a dash of salt. I will say that the scallops were cooked decently. The bun the margarine they used had an off taste, so I did eat the remaining scallops without the bun. The tarter sauce was the saving grace for sure. So I try the slaw (coleslaw) thinking, "Okay, it's saucey. This looks like it's gonna be good." It didn't have flavor either. I was extremely disappointed. All it needed was some flavor on the breading, maybe sear tue scallops first with a little salted butter. Add a little sauce like a Sriracha mayo or garlic aloli or even Bruce up the tartar sauce and drizzle it over the scallops.

Food was very good, having gone straight for the fried clams. A little overpriced, but that's definitely down to my getting takeout. The location is beautiful and the staff seemed super friendly, making sure to ask if I wanted utensils. This is a place to dine-in, so I'll have to come back.

Ordered take out on Saturday evening (calamari , sea scallops, clams, onion rings & fries)everything was good except the fried clams. We couldn’t describe the taste because they were mostly tasteless …usually they are good. Wondered if anyone else experienced this? Very disappointing.🙁👎🏽
