First off, I would like to say I’ve had my fair share of staying at luxury hotels and this place was quite the opposite. The location is good in regards to taking route 10 and the shopping area, however, for the price you’re paying, best to spend it elsewhere. Initially the first room we stayed in, the sink pipe was leaking water, the bedside lamp wasn’t working, and neither were the phones when we tried to call them about this. I had to go downstairs and the staff were very pleasant and gave us a free upgrade. The room was indeed much bigger and it had two separate bedrooms, but overall, this hotel is outdated. The sofa was cracking and housekeeping couldn’t even bother to find the right sheets for one of the beds. They also didn’t give us additional toiletries when they refreshed the room, which is interesting considering you are paying the room per night. The heating system doesn’t seem to work either and when it gets cold at night, you’ll be wishing you stayed elsewhere. This is my first time staying at a Marriott chain hotel and it’ll truly be my last. From now on, I would stay at my usual Hyatt or intercontinental. I would like to say more, but this hotel truly drains you of your energy and your wallet.

This was a great hotel experience!! First, the hotel is elegant and at the same time cozy. The room was beautiful. It was clean and felt spacious. The hotel staff was very accommodating. I asked for a fridge and they brought it up for me! The pool was such a plus. It was nice to just sit in a lounge chair and soak up the sun. The cabanas are beautiful. If the music was not as loud it would have been perfect! The food at the restaurant was delicious and we were able to sit outside or inside. The only reason I rated this 4 star is because of noise. The hotel has a pet friendly policy (which as a pet owner, I appreciate). But when a neighbors dog barks incessantly and I’m told we have to wait til after 9 pm to do anything about it- that’s frustrating- especially when the rooms are expensive. In general, hotel walls are thin and that makes it difficult to sleep. Naturally, people walk down the halls to their rooms and talk. And staff call to each other and stand in hallways and talk. And when people party and drink and the walls are thin, it’s just not the best sleep experience. Thankfully for me, the noisy dog left before 9 pm and it turned out great.

After a long and rainy day at Disneyland, my husband and I chose to stay at the W hotel in west Beverly Hills. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a really bad experience. The room was poorly renovated and the service was terrible not worth the price. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. The lobby looked more like a nightclub. Our room was located right in front of the elevator, so we could hear people talking outside our door without a doubt. And the gap under the door was wider than the English strait. Additionally, the carpet and the chargers on the wall older than my grandma, and to top it off, the bathroom fan didn't work. Overall, it was an absolutely dreadful stay.

I received a wonderful welcome from Zoe at the front desk and the talent team members stationed at the entrance, who was eager to assist me with my luggage. It all set the tone for a perfect stay at the W Los Angeles. Zoe's warm hospitality and demeanor, and detailed overview of available amenities, made my second visit to LA off to a fantastic start (my first time in West Beverly Hills at this gorgeous property was in March). Every interaction with the W talent team (from valet to front of the house to housekeeping) was warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating. I am a morning person, and the energy and vitality from the morning weekend ladies at the front desk were fabulous and at least appreciated by me, though possibly not by non-morning guests. :) The hotel's interior design is on point and they even have fantastic artwork displayed by a local and talented LA artist Ruben Rojas. I love that they support and embrace local talent, and apparently they switch it out periodically to showcase other local artists too. The outdoor pool area is like a private and hidden oasis, and the rooms are lovely. The entire property and its talent team exudes such warmth and professionalism and makes the guest experience truly memorable. I so wish I could have extended my stay longer! I look forward to returning.

Been staying here for 3 days and what can I say, the service is great! Beautiful hotel very sanitized, staff is great I would like to specifically thank Brewer for going up and beyond to make sure we received the best service. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this hotel!

This is a W? It may have the scent and the elevator mats, but the experience is off because the property is old and the location is UCLA and not an urban hotspot. Flaws: low ceilings, weak water pressure; no executive lounge; not upgraded as Titanium at all, despite being asked about my checkout time; had to clarify twice about breakfast benefit ($50 credit at the outdoors only seating restaurant); being woken up at 3am from noise outside, and again in the morning because noise carries through the hallways Good things: location—I needed to be at UCLA and this was perfect; service was friendly; bed was great sleep Decent hotel but don't expect a typical W

Stayed for a business trip as a valued Marriott guest. Got the room upgrade to the best studio on the top floor. Overall hotel staff from valet, front desk, housekeeping has been super amazing. I do feel the hotel property is a bit older and may need some upgrades in the room and the carpets. I haven’t tried their bar and food yet. Not a fan of steak so may not be a spot for people who are into poultry or veggies. The location is super quiet and close to lot of good restaurants and stores.

I would like to start off by saying that my check in experience was amazing. I was checked in by David the valet who checked me in he was very personable and knew good places to hang and eat. On top of that our vehicle was low on charge and we were thinking about to taking the car out but David had already taken care of it without us knowing. Since he took care of that we were able to get our errands done faster. Great Guy! Also, front desk was amazing and stk. We will be returning to this hotel thanks for the hospitality.

I travel around the World and can honestly say the Hotel is Beautiful and the Staff were 5 Star. From arrival to departure, AMAZING❤️ The valet are extremely nice and respectful and my car was ready in minutes with just a text. The front desk was absolutely the BEST…I just returned from Paris and was in awe of the staff there, they were nice friendly Professional and really helpful… so I never expected the young man who checked me in at the W Beverly Hills to be even better than my Parisian experience. Michael was a sharp guy with an outgoing personality who engaged in a kind informative friendly uplifting way that should be taught in hospitality schools around the world. His last words to me before saying have a nice night was… Sir, our goal is to make your stay amazing and exceed your expectations so if there’s anything we can do please call us. I walked away thinking, how did he learn to be so welcoming then I found out who hired him. I met the GM Damien Hirsch and realized why the staff at the W are so amazing, he’s the highest caliber and known in the Marriott group as the Master of Leadership, he lives his job, he loves his staff and he cares about the guest experience. Being French and American, he has the best experiences of both worlds. We talked for 30 minutes and he couldn’t have been mor gracious kind respectful and professional. I can tell that he puts the guest first and and really cares about the hotel staff as well. There aren’t many GM’s like him and he should be an Executive VP in charge of development, there’s something beyond Special about Damien and that’s what makes the difference in our stay.

The staff is great. The hotel lobby is hip and cool. We did not try the food. As we were only here one night. We had a two-bedroom suite. And it was immediately apparent this was not built as a hotel and it used to be College dorms. The rooms are a little dated. The furniture had stains in it. It was clear they tried to modernize the room. There are no coffee makers in the room. As I found out at 5:00 a.m. when I tried to make coffee. And there's no coffee available until 5:30 a.m. as I find out when I went to the lobby to get coffee. You have to request a coffee maker in your room in order to have coffee in your room. It's the first hotel I have never stayed at where you had to request a coffee maker. The location is amazing and it's in Beverly Hills but there are some very classy and old school hotels that I would probably stay at the next time. However I was trying to use my Marriott bonvoy points.

Me, my dog, and my sister had a great time here. At check-in, they asked if my dog could have treats. The valet was completely worth the fee - all we had to do was text a phone number and our car was ready. Our king suite room was clean and updated. The area surrounding the hotel was safe to walk the dog and to walk around at night. Sightseeing and food adventures were a short drive or short walk away. The front desk, and management were all friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Will stay here anytime I’m passing through LA, and recommend it to friends and family, too!

Been to Ws at various location, can’t say this was the best stay. Reason being, the duplex room we had was spacious, but after one night I realised the room had constant noise from elevator and outside fans, couldn’t sleep at all. Then we had to change the room, and the concierge said that’s the only ones they get complain from because of the fan sound so they’ll change. Despite our relatively long stay, 5 nights, they appointed us a room allegedly had frequent complaints. I’m sure it wasn’t intended but as titanium elite and frequent Marriott guests, we have to say this was quite inconsiderate and there wasn’t any compensation or apology to our sleepless night and times to move around. Hoping the experience’d get better for the latter part of my stay.

A nice hotel located in a good location. The rooms were clean and spacious. Shame that you have to pay a fairly high price to park even if you are a resident at the hotel. Staff at the reception desk are helpful and friendly.

From the moment you step onto the property you are greeted with warmth and top notch service. The property is flawless, the amenities are wonderful and it’s a great location. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This is our second time staying at this W hotel. My husband and I are dans of the chain. We especially love this W because of its location (walkable to stores and safe), large number of suite rooms (we found this to be the best priced if you want a large amount of space), and amazing welcoming service. Kiara at the front desk has gone above and beyond to make our stay amazing by proactively offering things like shower caps and by remembering our name and our dog’s name! She was also very transparent about upgrade possibilities. Caleb was fantastic pre arrival when we arranged for an additional fridge. Nino and Jose at the hideout (hotel breakfast / lunch / dinner area) remember your names and orders. Everyone is so friendly and everything is very clean. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was nice, but in my years of being a Marriot Gold member and staying in dozens of hotels all around the country, I've never been charged to store medication in the in-room refrigerator.

The staff at this hotel was absolutely amazing. My mother-in-law and I were visiting while she was receiving treatment for stage four cancer at Cedar Sinai, and they treated us so well, upgraded to a lovely suite It made a few very difficult days much more enjoyable, I cannot thank them enough .

A terrible stay overall. There are revolving staff strikes happening here. From 7am to 7pm there are air horns, drums, screaming & yelling. When you walk in / out, you get barraged with noise and it feels awful to be staying at a place where they can't pay their service staff a living wage. We wanted to check out. The remaining staff are doing their best, but the stay was untenable. Avoid at all costs, the strikes happen randomly and no one tells you. Would not recommend at all.

The staff here went above and beyond to make my trip memorable to say the least. I let the staff know that I am celebrating my engagement and Ray and Ninoush took care of everything to surprise us. From the start they had direct contact with us to ensure our check in process was smooth, they went beyond our expectations for our preferences on our type of room, and even decorated our room for us after the proposal took place. I cannot say enough good things and I would not hesitate to stay here again purely because of Ray and Ninoush's superb customer service.

Platinum Elite with Marriott and this is the first hotel review I’ve written. We arrived early in the morning after a red eye and the staff that greeted us (Gaby and one other gentleman) were extremely welcoming and got us into our room early. Additionally, we asked for an HDMI cord and they sent someone out to buy a new cord for us. Lastly, the staff around the entire hotel was so kind and gracious, even when needing to deal with a very loud protest happening on their doorstep. I’m very impressed by everyone working at this hotel and will be staying here again in the future.

Rooms were large, but we had to wait 30 min after check in to get a room. Great pool, lawn chairs were available, but the service was weak, no one ever would take our drink order. Minor setbacks can't ruin the hotels convenience to Westwood Village and local sites.

I had the best experience at the W. I planned a surprise proposal for my fiancé at the outdoor restaurant. The service and generosity of the staff was truly something I could not have imagined. I notified the server of the surprise engagement and she went above and beyond to make sure our experience was one to remember. The restaurant manager, bar staff, hostess and valets all went out of their way to ensure a memorable experience. I truly can’t express my gratitude to all of these people! I will always try to stay at the W during my time in LA.

The staff really goes above and beyond. Was there for a boys weekend with my 2 sons and we had a great stay. Highly recommend!

My mom and I stayed here for Bruin Day over the weekend. Everyone was so kind and our corner suite was way bigger than we thought it would be. The location is perfect for walking to UCLA and throughout Westwood village. We both felt safe when walking at night. The toiletries and bathroom towels were perfect as well. All of the hair products were great. We both loved our stay here! The only downside was that you had to pay for WiFi but we just used our cellular hotspots so it wasn't a big deal. The outside of the hotel always reeked of weed, but it didn't impact our stay and the inside of the hotel always smelled good.

I came with our infant child and all they had in the room was a dozen alcohol bottles and no coffee. I decided to order room service but couldn't find any QR code for the menu or the menu anywhere online. They sent me the menu printed on a paper and I ended up ordering room service for breakfast of pancakes and coffee. The breakfast arrived real fast to my room but it came without syrup, like 3 tablespoons of milk for the coffee that I ordered which was cold by the time it came to my room. I had to call up and reorder the missing stuff. The breakfast itself was delicious. The rooms was very nice and neat. There were 2 TVs and I could only see 1 remote for the TV. The people at the concierge were very helpful and nice. The area where the hotel is located is quite safe and nice neighborhood to walk around. There's a starbucks inside Target which is a short walk from the hotel.

We booked a 5 night stay on points and extended for an additional 3 nights. There is wonderful Ambassador status recognition and we were thrilled with our upgraded 2 bedroom suite that allowed us to feel very comfortable during our stay. The room used to be dorms so they are laid out more like apartments and spacious. One little detail that was great was there is a square on the shower door that you can turn on the water so the water can get warm and you don't have to risk getting wet! I wish all hotels (and homes) had this! The restaurant for breakfast is outdoors so it during our stay in late April/early May it was chilly most mornings, but they had plenty of heat lamps available. If you are using the $25 credit vouchers per person, per day with elite breakfast amenity know that you will be paying out of pocket as most things are "LA priced" and you are responsible for taxes and gratuity. The restaurant on the first floor (STK Westwood) is rather fancy but the happy hour drink/food specials are great and worth doing early dinners. It was a little chilly for the pool, but it looked nice. The location notes "West Beverly Hills" but you are really in Westwood which is a great neighborhood and right by UCLA. You are within walking to distance to restaurants, shopping, etc. The internet was fast and reliable. There was one large table with 4 chairs so we shared that as shared working space. Since we had two bedrooms we could use one of those for when we both had phone calls or zooms.

This hotel is fantastic! It is in a beautiful suburban area, within walking distance to some great restaurants as well as Target and Ralphs. The decor and interior of the hotel is beautiful and the room was very spacious. The amenities such as the pool and gym were great! The staff were so incredibly kind and happy, and would always greet us when passing through reception. The valet parking was quite expensive but this is understandable given that this is a luxurious hotel with high end restaurants on site. The valet staff were great! Super accommodating and friendly. Overall this hotel is great!

Amazing hotel! Something happened to my house, so I came here for the night. The hotel was amazing. I booked a standard room, however, thanks to the Platinum Elite status as a benefit from my Bonvoy Brilliant card, I was upgraded to the WOW Suite.

  • 4/5 Dan Q. 1 year ago on Google
Overall a surprisingly good value considering the proximity to UCLA, Westwood, and Beverly Hills. Rooms are all suites, well stocked mini bar and fridge albeit for an extra charge per item, nicer refillable (very much appreciated to not have more single use plastic bottles) skin and hair care products, and generally comfortable furniture. The edges of the place are starting to fray a bit as evidenced by the fixtures, light switches, and just the corners of the spaces, but that's fine considering the reasonable value. The gym was well appointed although there are fantastic rolling hills to run right outside the door. The restaurant STK was adequate hotel food, and isn't anything particularly amazing to write home about. All in all it was a satisfying place to stay two nights for work.

Everything was great for the most part except the bathroom doors!! Why oh why did the architects think it was a good idea to have those closet-like sliding doors that don’t close all the way?!!! Even with just my husband and I, I felt so uncomfortable using the bathroom because I just wanted a real door! Now I know some folks don’t think it’s a big deal but I really value privacy in the bathroom! We only stayed one night because we had an event at UCLA. Other than that, check-in with Osirus was great and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful! And the room/suite was spacious and nice and clean! Although we didn’t take anything from the bar, it was well-stocked!

The W in West Beverly Hills is the very definition of average. The hotel's location is great, especially if you have business at UCLA. There are plenty of cheap eats nearby, and almost anything you might need is a five-minute walk from the hotel. Otherwise, the rooms are worn out, and housekeeping is weak at best, but the front desk does shine. They were helpful, great at solving small issues, and always happy to find you the small item you may have forgotten. If you're bringing a car, which of course you will, it's LA, expect to spend $55 a night for parking. It seemed a bit pricey, but the valets were nice enough to charge our car without needing to ask!

My husband and I stayed here for a little birthday staycation. I had stayed at this location before, but it had been a while. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suit, which was fun and nice. The 2nd bedroom had a Murphy bed and it wasn't as comfortable, but we didn't need it so it wasn't a big deal. Everyone we talked to was really helpful and kind. I had a lost item and they were very helpful in trying to help find it. It is in the UCLA neighborhood. The pool seemed fine, but kind of small for how popular it seemed. The pool restaurant was tasty. Overall we had a nice stay.

I don't write reviews but the hotel staff was so horrible it had to be said. I tried to check in after 3pm but the room was not ready and had to wait for over an hour. They took my number but never contacted me even though I saw other folks getting a room. So I get up to remind them I was still here. They had forgotten about me. So I would have probably had to wait longer if i hadn't talk to them. They finally give me a room key but just the key. Not telling me what room, where the elevator was, or a simple thanks. I asked folks in the elevator how long they waited for a room and they said 15 minutes. There is no parking and are forced to use their valet which I did not want because of covid. They also failed to mentioned that the price of the room includes being able to charge my car overnight there. They only informed me of this after I picked up my car to finally drive home after staying there for 2 nights. The room was nice but the shower would spill water everywhere. The bed was not comfortable. The pool closes too early for being in Southern California. They get 2 stars because the cleaning staff was amazing. They gave me extra towels right away because of the shower leaking everywhere. They also left extra water bottles without asking. This place feels like a generic night club with no personality of its own. You are paying for the location and facade. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The hotel service was good. The room we had was large and comfortable. The location is very nice. The only black spot was the breakfast restaurant. It was severely under staffed and the little staff was obviously tired and with an attitude. It happened on both times I ate there. The food was ok but not a lot of variety. Also $7 for a black coffee!!!

We stayed here last minute long term and the staff was nothing short of helpful and amazing. From housekeeping (Flor was the best most understanding housekeeper And always made our suite look beautiful) and bellhops including Roger and DJ, to the front desk (Shon was just lovely and always a smile and made us feel so welcome) and Ninanoosh (spelling) was so warm and accommodating. And the valet that never batted an eye when I took my car in and out 5 times a day. I was nervous this hotel wasn’t child friendly but the staff did everything to make it a great stay for my family and I. The hotel is clean and is decorated tastefully and upbeat. The pool is quaint charming and clean. We chose a higher floor to avoid potential noise from lobby and we never heard a thing. Don’t hesitate to stay here. It is a lovely stay.

Generally nice hotel, especially if you’re going to be around UCLA, Sawtelle. It’s really on the western edge of Beverly Hills so not super close to most of the touristy things that you might want to do. Several reviewers have mentioned that the hotel is dated, I think the decor still looks relevant but needs to be maintained. The grout in the bathroom needed a thorough cleaning and some of the furniture needed to be mended. Only here one night, opted to not eat in the hotel. The check-in staff was very friendly.

I’m not usually prompted to write a review but both ladies I spoke to in Rooms & Reservations were so rude. I am not a guest, but a receptionist at a high end nail salon trying to assist in scheduling an appointment for a guest who is staying here. Edgar was very nice on the phone and I was told to ask for him. There is no option for guest services when calling their number and both ladies who answered in rooms and reservations were short and rude; when I asked them if they were able to transfer me, they both said nothing and music started playing, meaning they transferred me without notice. The gentleman they transferred me to at front desk/guest services was very nice and assisted me in figuring out the situation for their guest. 5 stars for front desk and 0 for rooms/reservations. I hope they are a lot sweeter to their guests.

David in valet is awesome and very personable. The sandy blond lady working at the hideout on 3/13/22 at 4:45 was rude and extremely eager to stop my wife from sitting down in the restaurant because she said they were getting ready to close. That lady's obnoxious attitude was upsetting. We said that we would leave the restaurant then. At that point she must have realized how she must have sounded and that she had upset us and then she wanted to show us the way out after ignoring us briefly. She was the opposite of our experience with the rest of all the hotel staff we came in contact with. We didn't care that they were closing, JUST BE NICE AND FRIENDLY LIKE ALL YOUR COWORKERS ARE! Lyn at the front counter was very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was perfect. The STK restaurant was very good and a great selection of entrees. Full bar and good wine list also. The Hot coffee at the front reception area in the morning was really good
