    Andrew, ( using wifes account ) I have just return from a great customer service experience at Halfords in St Helens. I called in there this morning as one of my gear cables had snapped whilst out on a ride. There was only one person working in the bicycle department and I forgot to ask him his name. Male, beard and suffering from a bad back, I asked if he could replace the cable for me. He initially said he could but it would have to be tomorrow as he was on his own. He could see the disappointment on my face and then asked me to bring the bike upstairs and he’d have a quick look at it. I did as asked and then he decided he’d do it there and then as there was no one else in the shop. Whilst replacing the cable is also check the back gear cable and said that could do with replacing before that also snapped. He promptly replaced both cables and oiled up a few other places as well. Tested them out and did a top professional job. Told me to return within the next 12 weeks and he’d Tighten everything up as the cables would probably stretch with use. Fantastic service, with a smile and so polite conversation at the same time. A credit to your store. Thanks one again.👍👍

    Brilliant!! Great service and price.... after Lookers wanted to charge me £72!!! for 2 windscreen wipers (although they told me only one needed replacing but they "come in packs of two!!") Halfords replaced only the faulty one for £18.79. They also couldn't believe what Lookers was trying to get away with!!! Took Halfords 5mins to do the job and take payment....lovely guys!! GO TO HALFORDS FOR WINDSCREEN WIPERS!!

    At the end of a pretty awful day, the cherry on the cake was my neighbour letting me know my brake light had gone as I pulled up at home. All 5 stars to David who sorted it out within minutes and had me back on my way. Spot on.

    I went to Halfords in St Helen's and I wasn't really sure what it was I needed for my car, I asked the sales assistant and he was fabulous, his name was Dave. He was really informative and was giving me lots of good advice. I was really happy with the friendly service I received. Thank you Dave

    Very easy to get what I need, good price but that is about the shop, could be 5 stars but I put 2 because service. I was booked my car for a air conditioner check and I went there 10 minutes before booking time, they said wait until somebody will come to me, I was waiting 30 minutes after booking time and no body came to me, then I ask,they said “ we don’t forget about you “ What the sense of booking if they don’t care about you, 2 stars ⭐️

    I bought a child car seat for my grandson yesterday (130423) at Halfords, Peasley Cross retail park, St Helens. I was pleased with the product and the price, but it was the two staff members who helped me who impressed me most - they were absolute stars. Pleasant, courteous and professional, they went out of their way to help. Ann found the item in stock for me and collected it herself, and gave me good advice. She asked Dave to fit the seat in my car for me, and he unpacked and carried it out for me, and demonstrated how to fit and use it. Both reassured me about my choice and made a stressful experience so much easier. I owe them a big thank you.

    Very happy with product. I reserved item and paid £12 online. When I went in to the store - the shelf they took the item off had £8.99 marked on it. I felt too shy to say anything, so overpaid. My fault I guess.

    Ordered a new battery for my VW Polo online to collect. It was a good price and there was a 10% offer on so it became a great price! 45 minutes later it was ready to pick up. Great service!

    Went to collect a bike, staff very busy, bike was being built as I got there, but the staff were very thorough in the checks which is a very good thing, so it was worth the slight wait. Note to Head Office -- Should be more staff to take the pressure of the hard working ones that are there.

    What a brilliant end to end journey. I needed some new roof bars for my car. I ordered them online. Unfortunately I incorrectly ordered just the feet and not the bars. I called Halfords St. Helens (565) and spoke to Gareth to book in for my purchase to be fitted. Gareth’s incredible knowledge allowed him to spot my error, and helped me correct it in the most polite and professional way. He booked me in the very next day and I arrived at the St. Helens branch where I was looked after by Dave. He explained the fitting process and fitted the entire roof bar system with meticulous precision. Mike then double checked the work and the job was complete. No whistles, no drama just excellent service from start to finish.

    Shocking service and communication !!! Both in store and online! On Sunday I visited the St. Helens store with my very excited 7 year old to buy her first mountain bike, she picked her lovely pink bike but was told by the female assistant it wasn’t in stock but they had them in other stores and she will call around and get her one ordered, after 30 minutes she was still on the phone but wasn’t giving me any updates to what was the delay, I then approached the desk and she informed me ‘I’m sorry I can’t get hold of any, we don’t have them in stock’ ?? Even online… I was confused because she’d name the store Chorley that had 3 in stock, and we’d seen the bike online and that’s why we went in store to test it etc , we left the store as it was closing, my daughter was obviously upset, I sat in my car outside the store and ordered the exact same bike online, stating it would be delivered on Wednesday 13th July or before ( great my daughters birthday Thursday ) Wednesday comes and no update, tracking still states order being packed, I left work at 4pm and called customer services and was informed not to worry and the bike is out with the courier service and would arrive before 9pm (obviously frustrated but happy my little girl would have a bike on her special day ) obviously the bike didn’t arrive and now I’m stranded without my daughters present ! The communication and service you wouldn’t expect from a well established and nationwide organisation, if the bike arrives it will be sent back, I’m also in the market for a bike and I will be taking my custom elsewhere! Very disappointed.

    Wonderful service from Dave. Turned on as my car warning light came on to tell me my headlight bulb was blown. Due to do a long drive through the night to the Lakes that day and he had sourced a bulb and changed it for me within 10 mins for less than £15.

    Amazing service! My bike had a flat tyre, I've managed to visit the store literally 10 minutes before their closure, and they've managed to fit a new tube for me. I will highly recommend it to anyone.

    I was 3 miles into a 25 mile planned ride this morning when I noticed my rear wheel was flat as a pancake! Thankfully I was within a short walk of Halfords St Helens who took my bike, recommended a new inner tube and sent me for a cup of tea while they made the repairs. I was frustrated as I had just had my bike serviced by another cycle shop who had also replaced the rear inner tube just 4 days earlier. I collected my bike about 30 minutes later (along with some new gloves and a portable pump 😉) and received advice and a safety notice that my chain was worn and needs replacing ASAP, as well as giving my current chain, set and jockey wheels a good degrease, clean, and lubrication as my bike was making a lot of noise. I cut my ride short but still had a good one and got home to do the necessary maintenance save the chain replacement. I cannot thank Mark and the maintenance team enough for helping me out this morning! True gems in our little town

    Visited Halford today and a lovely sales assistant called Megan helped me with my purchase of a child’s bike. Megan also fitted the accessories to the bike with care and recommended a good aftercare service. This was the first time I had bought a bike from there and was impressed with the customer service, value for money and quality of products. Thanks Megan!

    Staff at St Helens we’re really helpful and friendly on the two visits I made recently. In fact, I was so impressed that I drove past my local Halfords to go to St Helens branch due to make my purchase. I didn’t get all of the staff members names who helped us but I know one was Donna who was excellent, as where the other team members I dealt with

    When I go to Halfords the staff are always friendly, polite and helpful. I have always found the items I needed at a reasonable price. I have even road tested an e-bike which I was allowed to take away and ride for 6 hours. I am quite happy with this store
