I wanted to update my review after some time since I last visited. I have been to this place on and off for many years. Always received a nice welcome. It’s got a traditional style, award winning food, plenty of seating with stools and wingback chesterfield chairs. There’s also, an outdoor rear patio area with more outdoor bench seats at the front. There is also a high level of cleanliness throughout together with hand sanitizer’s available. I wish to pay tribute to “Kat” for this. And, more recently the outstanding fundraising for the people of Ukraine as well as providing supplies. I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a quick pint or a Sunday lunch. Highly rated.

Always a great pint, and lovely to sit in the sun. Had the vegan nachos and they were SO GOOD, loads of jalapeños, loads of dips, was delicious. Facilities are clean. Staff are friendly, although service isn’t the fastest, and the prices arent the cheapest, but still good. Really great pub.

Brilliant pub ideally located in lively part & recently refreshed area of Southampton town centre. Great drinks selection & fantastic (price wise & offering) menu. Check it out whenever you're in town - not to be missed.

Really enjoyed the first vegan night at this very friendly pub. Food was lovely and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Wheelchair access was difficult, I needed help to get in and help to get to the toilet (I can walk a few steps with assistance), but once inside I could get around very well. Really hope they do another night like this one, or even better to put some of the things we tried tonight on the regular menu! The fish pie and the battered sausage were my favourite (our group of three tried everything between us, tapas style). Price was good too!

Great venue, lovely staff and a good selection of pub food classics, draught cider, lager and ale. A great supporter of the local Music scene with a weekly open mic and regular live acts at the weekend.

SUCH a cosy pub!! Jazz night. Loved their performance, which was spontaneous and so incredible. One just knew that legends were gracing us with their presence.

Just back from a weekend in Southampton. The Cricketers was a great find. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere created by the staff was very friendly. As we were a large group, we tried most things from the menu all of which was of a high standard. I would recommend the carvery if passing by on a Sunday. It was hard no to sample some of the award winning ales which are available. We plan to go back again soon.

Lovely staff. Great, live music. Good value. Definitely worth a stop on a night out.

We had a very enjoyable time here on Sunday. We ordered a variety of the the Sunday roasts (lamb, beef, vegetarian etc.) and found all of them to be very tasty. The staff were so friendly to us all and the atmosphere was friendly. I would definitely recommend!

Went here to escape Orange Rooms (I didn't book it, don't judge me). Was expecting a sedate old man pub (which is the vibe it's given when going past it in the day). Was quite lively, with all manner of people belting out Spice Girls and Queen. It was good fun. I'd consider going again. Didn't get food ofc so I can't comment on that.

5/5 great music and atmosphere. Literally just lost my phone there 10 minutes ago, had a panic, went to a the bar staff and somebody handed it in to them. All sorted, all good, and ducking great music and service to boot.

Came here on the off chance to watch the open mic on a monday. Great staff, Lovely burgers, good selection of drinks and friendly atmosphere. Was really busy and even ended up playing a few tracks, will definitely be back

I went for Sunday roast with two friends this Sunday. The food was tasty and abundant. I’d add some greens though. The service good as well. Bravo.

Went there works leaving do the other night and had an unexpectedly amazing time! Went in there for a couple before planning to move elsewhere, then ended up there the whole night! Live band were amazing and service was pretty rapid! Only downside was that there wasn't any food being served from a kitchen, however they had a massive range of crisps which saw us through! Highly recommend

Most expensive two pints I have purchased in Southampton for not much atmosphere and only one bar staff on for a busy Friday night. Very slow not very welcoming.

Had a great evening with friends. Drinks, no food, live music and lots of laughs. Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is always great fun. A good range of drinks and lots of standing room and seating too.

Second time I visited this pub, second time I had a frosty reception, so I thought I would now share my experience, landlady of this pub is very rude and abrupt, I simply asked why they never answer the phone, her reply very rudely was we had a football match on and I can't answer the phone because we are busy, all i wanted to know was is there a band playing, trouble was I rang several times of the day and all you get is a voice message, so to have this attitude in the pub business is the wrong attitude, and will certainly not be drinking in this unwelcome establishment, my opinion, AVOID, unless you want an unwelcome reception. 😡

I have been here a few times and it never fails to disappoint. It has amazing and welcoming staff, great vibes and delicious food. I had the steak platter tonight (new on the menu) and it was a variety of beautifully cooked steak and also reasonably priced. Honestly could not recommend it enough. I will be back
