Nice openly spaced Sports Direct, a lot of variety of sports clothing & equipment all under one roof.

Great selection of sports clothing and equipment but terrible staff and an even worse returns policy. If you need sports stuff and you don’t want to break the bank, this is definitely where you want to go, but make sure you are certain in what you are buying and as you will not get your money back. Me and my partner bought complete tennis attire for a fancy dress night which ended up being cancelled. But the following day when we came back to return the unused, unopened items we were informed that Sports Direct as a company so not do refunds, at all. This was not clear at all when purchasing the goods and we were directed to a completely unofficial small unbranded statement which informs the customer about this awful policy. It was not clear, not visible easily and it is a bit of a con really. Luckily they have a USC in the same building so we were able to exchange for some clothing from there but it is still an awful policy. Also, the staff in here seem non-existent, you can never find them and when you do come across one they are miserable and make it clear they do not want to be there. Even when we spoke the the manger regarding the returns policy, it was clear she did not care at all about our complaint and just wanted to move on and go back out the back.

The store is well maintained and there is plenty of selection. Staff are hit and miss though... the minority are helpful but most of them are plain rude and way too busy talking to their colleagues to serve customers. Even at the point of making eye contact and gesturing, they will not approach a customer - YOU have to walk over to THEM, interrupt their conversation and ask for help. This is not a proactive approach to customer service. I have noticed this on most visits to this store so my complaint is not relating to an isolated incident. It's a pity because they've got the merchandising spot on and the store is always clean - they just need to weed out the poor staff but I really don't think Sports Direct give a hoot - they sell cheap products in large quantities so the loss of the odd customer here and there probably won't make a difference to their bottom line.

Terrible customer service and ridiculous exchange policy where they give you paper credit notes. Very outdated system from the dark ages.. Had a very poor experience today where each member of staff told me a different thing that needed to be done follwing a mistake they made themselves!

Nice big shop for good prices. Staff could be more friendly and helpful. The one I dealt with was Cocky and very unpleasant to talk to.

It's ok but it's always hard to find a member of staff in store and they're not always the most pleasant of customer servers. They seem to always have hardly any of the sizes of trainers and when you ask what other stock they have they're always tiny feet sizes! It's not too bad price wise but don't expect to find much under £30.

Awful service, the member of staff who approached me was rude and clearly uninterested in customers. I wanted to buy a pair of supernova running shoes, but felt very unwelcome in the store as the member of staff was talking to her friend and not at all interested in helping me. I walked out of the store and will never return. The Manager equally appeared to be uninterested as I commented on leaving.

Very disappointed when vising the store today brought few items online that i wanted to exchange had the receipt on my email to show proof of purchase but was told i needed the paper receipt by matt who had a terrible attitude and also made a few sarcastic remarks which were totally out of order. Even though 3 different members of staff had said the email receipt was more then enough to prove proof of purchase he turned us down and refused to do anything and just stormed off. Am 9 months pregnant my 3 kids wer in tears as they was tired and just wanted to go home and i Felt like matt didnt want to help and he was just being awkward like he had something against me when he could have resolved the matter. The worst customer service i have ever received from MATT he needs trsining on how to talk to customers

TLDR: Great prices, very large selection and convenient parking plus location. This is a very large store with a lot of floor space. Would highly recommend visiting this store as there is a vast variety of items for each category, more so than most other sports direct stores. Please note, that there is a large section for kids shoes upstairs, so don't be fooled by the smaller section downstairs near the tills. The store has a good range of items, and is especially good for trainers but also has a modest selection of formal shoes, something very few other stores stock. The specialist shoe sections are great. In addition, the equipment section is quite good providing a good range of items to browse from. This, as well as the very handy on site car parking makes this one of my favourite stores for sportswear. Still as good as ever, and good quality items at value prices.

This place used to be ok but not sure whats happened recently, i asked one of the staff on front door named Matt phillips for some help with an item and all i got was this disgusting look like he didnt care. Then pretending to help he walked off like a little princess.

Poor quality product and poor service!! I bought a sondigo foot ball (type : 821019) on April 9th for my son, after few days it was showing signs on damage. I went back to the store on April 15th to exchange the foot ball. After talking to the store manager, he has rejected my request stating that the ball was over inflated after I bought it. I have informed the store manager that nobody pumped the ball since It was bought. The Manager did not want to listen, kept blaming me 'the customer' and refused to refund or exchange the ball. As a consequence this store has lost 5 customers because of a 5 quid ball...

No staff on shop floor and I waited for 10 minutes too no avail of service, also noticed no staff on the cashier desks. Its obvious they don't want run out stock, would have give them no stars if I could have done.

Staff very good but very disappointed that the last 3 times I've been there are no right handed golf gloves for left handed players

£30 trainers on website but none in store. Not even the space for where they would have been, if they existed . This is clearly false advertising to draw people into the shop .The closest to what was advertised online were £44. Be wary. What is online is not what they have in store. I am happy with the trainers but feel I was lured into the store on a false promise.

Staff downstairs sent me upstairs to look for an item on my own. Asked upstairs and was sent back down. Seems like no one wants to find the correct item for the customer anymore. Place has gone downhill

This store isn't too bad. It's very spacious from inside and is near Shirley high street. There is plenty of free parking space. It is located opposite Sainsbury and away from the crowded part of Shirley. So convenient for shopping. You can find a wide variety of items here for men and women. I have been to this shop several times; you can occasionally find a bargain or two. It's joint inside with USC store. Prices are exactly the cheapest for a sport direct store; I reckon it's slightly on pricer side. Theres also not many staff working for how big the store is. There's like 5 workers across the shop floor.

Great place to shop, can be pricey with some of the brand names. There are lots of bargains with the sale stuff, still brand names so I would recommend this shop. Quality & a good range of all activity clothes are there in abundance. Staff very helpful & friendly but not many around.

The customer service here is so poor. I was waiting by the till to be served and two members of staff were present. They had to call another member of staff to serve me as they weren’t suppose to be staffing the till. I was stood waiting for around ten minutes. Another customer asked a question of a member of staff who was rude and didn’t answer their question as they complained to them that they weren’t staffing the till. The attitude towards the customer was poor and rude. Every time I come into this store I spend a motor time waiting for staff and often met by someone with a lack of politeness. The staff member who did serve me eventually was pleasant and polite.

Worse customer service I have ever received, returned faulty light up trainers the gentleman said they were faulty too, when the woman “manager” came she was rude, abrupt and condescending, implying I’m lying and didn’t take into account her colleague said they weren’t working properly either. Never had such terrible attitude from anyone before. Clearly she has a chip on her shoulder and thinks she is something special, when she’s NOT! Do not shop, cheaper to buy online, got same trainers £10 cheaper on Amazon,

Very spacious shopping place near Shirley. Ample parking space. It is located away from the crowded part of Shirley. So convenient for shopping. The store is very spacious and you can find a wide variety of items here. I have been to this shop several times.

The shop is not very clearly signed as to where each section begins or ends. The changing rooms are horrible, dirty and no seating.

Shocking experience here today. Unhelpful uninterested staff. Two for one deals are such a con. When you take them to the till they tell you you have to have two exactly the same - the marketing is very misleading.

Tried to purchase trainers eventually found a member of staff after 10 minutes of trying to locate one. Is was then asked to wait in the service area... again nearly 10 mins When a staff member passed by i asked for my size the staff member just said not in my size... Wasted nearly an hour in this shop needless to say i did not make a purchase and i guess neither did the other shoppers waiting did.

Exceptional store in many ways and such a huge range of quality merchandise. The staff are friendly and helpful and the store has a huge customer car park which is an added bonus

It just didn't stock what I wanted at that time. But sports direct is still the best sports store in my opinion.

No complaints apart from a man having a wee in the car park nothing out the ordinary shop was good 3 stars no 1 gets a five .. cheap prices decent stuff

Like the choice of footwear but staff not look overly happy, when you can get their attention. Took 65mins to get items I wanted - then another 10mins to pay !

Nice big clean store, plenty of choice. Went in Sunday afternoon, only one guy serving many customers buying trainers... Staff in other sections just leaning and chatting. Asked for help on some trainers was told to wait for the one guy serving. Eight people waiting to pay, a single person serving, again lots of staff not doing anything but chatting.

Much larger than I had expected with nice open aisles leading to the various sections. This store has a massive range of trainers & boots of different types along with various other sporting footwear. Clothing wise, they have a well stocked childrens section for all the ages. And the adults are well catered for too. Probably a little bit for almost every active sport going. Lots of commonly found brand names as well as affiliate hats and t-shirts. AND they have a decent COMPUTER GAMES / CONSOLE section too!!?! I wasn't expecting that. Nice store.

Friendly staff, covid-19 restrictions followed to some extent as some customers andcstaff not wearing mask didn't have what I required and wasn't offered as a click and collect item which is very disappointing. Good slections of items many at a reasonable discounted price, not available in all sizes which didn't help as everyone has different physique

I have to give a star as won't let me give non or half! was in there for over a hour trying on 3 shoes the waiting was awful, the lady said well this is going to take a while. as I Brought her 3 diffrent types of shoes to fetch. I wanted other items spoke to some else while we where there and there wasn't time to get them as they shut the lights out and told us get out. not impressed at all. very un helpful..

Store had plenty of wide open space for people to social distance Staff where incredible really friendly and offering lots of advice Popped in for the game store mainly but all of the staff members where helpful in directing me round the store Lovely selection of products for all sporting needs as well as gaming

my wife and l went on a Tuesday morning to choose trainers and walking boots... spacious store with vast product range of sports gear...spent an hour looking and trying on... spoilt for choice ... helpful staff and we bought a pair each.....surprised that there is no lift....and small narrow stairs..
