Fitting room falling apart, held together by industrial tape, was scared the room was going to collapse as it was wobbling. Hangers said my Jean's cost £18 , got to till and they were actually £20. Realise this is not the immediate staff's fault as their hands are tied but could someone in Matalan who has the power to do so please give this poor branch of Matalan a makeover and the means to not mislead its customers?!

Went in shop today Cape Hill another app was blocking my banking app on my phone so I couldn't pay by card for some reason. When I decided to pay by cash the man who was at the self check raised his voice to say "ohhh your card has been declined"as if trying to command the attention of the other shoppers. I found him very rude I stood there trying to fix my phone but couldn't at the time. I've been shopping here for at least 9 years and not 1 complaint but I felt like my shopping experience was ruined today and I was very embarrassed. Shame on that man helping at self check today he was of no help to me and needs to be moved.

They have huge variety of clothes for everyone, we bought some suitcases and clothes. We couldn’t find big suitcases in whole birmingham. Prices were reasonable. They have excellent customer service.

Never have plastic carrier bags. They want you to buy the £1 .

Nice shop with lot of products. When we went, there was a sale. Brought dress for my wife and kids. Dresses were good, but shoes was not that great.

Store may be cheap but their customer service is cheaper.Bought a suit to wear abroad,they left the plastic security tag on my jacket which I discovered on the day I was supposed to wear it.Damaged my jacket trying to remove it

One of the worst places to buy shoes from and the customer service is so awful that they will blame the customers if something is wrong with their product. Manager and staff are extremely rude for customers and doesn't have sense of decency for customers. Treat the customers like they are trying to steal their money and matalan doesn't even have the online telephone number for the same reason I guess not to give customers a chance. Don't shop or shop here you will lose the money as they are unbelievably awful to wear.

I can't believe that the manager of a brand is so rude and ignorant. How did you choose such a person as a manager? My wife bought a pair of pants for me from your store, but unfortunately she did not choose the right size. When I went to the store to return the pants, I was faced with the ugly behavior of the store manager!!! I had not even worn these pants for five minutes, it is completely clear from the appearance that they have not been used at all. But this lady told me in disbelief that you wore this and ruined the belt and the lower part of it!!! And the last thing is that they told me that there must be a tick on the accompanying product so that we can exchange it. If no brand in England wants such a thing from its customers, and if your rules are different from other brands, you should inform the customer. When we don't know your withdrawal rules, how can we follow them! Maybe if I knew about your bad rules, I would have never bought from you, although I know that this is the last purchase for me and my family from your stores, and I will inform all my friends and acquaintances about this so that everyone will know about the bad condition of your customer service.

Staff is rude and never keen to help on when requested for alternative sizes for clothes to check in stock , The older lady by the tills like to get paid for doing nothing sort job ethic not helpful when providing information whilst the coloured workers have been grafting continuously through the years iv been there never seem to be recognised for there efforts not blaming this stores management but the company overall they should do better Very disappointed ☹️ in all honesty services is dreadful

Staff work very hard in this store, and are really helpful despite it being a very, very busy place. Needed a refund from an online order and lady serving was very helpful.

They charged me £30 for a dress that was £32, because they advertised the price incorrectly. That was good. I went back in a week later to exchange the dress for a smaller size. They said I had to pay the £2. The advisor who honoured the £30 advertised price didn't tell me that should I want to exchange sizes they wouldn't honour the £30. So, I returned it. Not only that, I had bought another dress for £30 - which I will return, a jumper for £10.50 which I returned and took a photo of a dress I saw in store and was going to buy from their website for £30 which I no longer am going to. Because of £2, they lost £100.50 of my custom. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Brilliant store and fantastic staff. Huge store and two floors. great prices as you would expect from Matalan. On my visit I came accidentally spilled some gel on floor and as soon as I notified staff the deputy manger rushed to mop it up herself. Then as coming down escalator I got separated from my elderly mother who became confused at the top and could have fallen igf the same manager hadnt spotted her and rushed to her and taken her arm to steady her. Then motioned me to relax as she would bring her down in the elevator. You cant buy this kind of staff awarenss and compassion. PS I accidetally deleted my review previously so am reposting.
