Had dinner for our anniversary based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews from friends and people that work in Milwaukee hospitality. It was overall a great experience, particularly in the execution of the food. Not a single bite disappointed, and we had a lot, both of us choosing the $44 unlimited Tapas. Service was attentive, especially considering how busy it was, and our table was touched regularly by both our server Josh and other servers, food runners, etc. Only one off note for the evening. The biggest issue, and it definitely affects the food, is the boards that much of the food is served on. They're pictured here with the Pan Con Tomate and the Pimento Cheese, both of which were so good. But, the boards were incredibly musty, and it did transfer to the food a little bit. Think musty cardboard or corked wine. If you know that smell, you know how powerful it is. This should be a big concern. Other than that, we will happily be back for more dinners.

Had a fantastic meal here with incredible service from Kylie. This place changed the way I feel about tapas. Perfect for a date night, especially if you've got things to do and don't want to leave too full (although that can easily be achieved as well). Decor is top notch, bathrooms also get five stars (can't review a place without checking out the bathroom). Look forward to dining here again!

We went here celebrating a birthday, it is an amazing fun cook and unique place for drinks and tapas. We had a great time early in the evening with well-volumed music, friendly and attentive staff, and great moody ambiance, it felt more like a small Cafe in the heart of Spain than a quiet street in Walkers Point! Not the cheapest cocktail on the block, but one with charm and atmosphere! We'll definitely be returning 😉

First visit here, the whole experience was great. From the hostess, the sever, and the food & drinks. The ambiance is great, the bar area, the dining area and they also have a large outdoor area which is well decorated. For drinks we had Movida Old Fashioned and a Margarita. Both were delicious. We had a variety of tapas, all were great but the wings & croquetas. We will definitely be back!

One of my favorite spots in Milwaukee! Do yourself a favor and grab a Paloma from the bar, I know it's my namesake but they do a great job on this particular drink. Their Shishito peppers are always on my list and I order them without even looking at the menu. They come caramelized to perfection and garnished with salt crystals that explode on your tongue. My other recommendation is to make your reservation for the patio that is just to the right of the main bar. I don't know who did the decorating, but they deserve a raise. Berber rugs divide each seating section and it adds a cozy ambiance to your stay. Between the menu and the atmosphere, Hotel Madrid is like a little vacation right in your hometown.

This was the last meal I shared with my beloved partner , Kyriel, before she passed. She lost her battle with mental health the next day. We enjoyed this place immensely. I can not stress how close to the heart this place is because of the happiness it had brought her.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with all you can eat tapas. The tapas were very good. Food came out quickly. Service was excellent. We ate at the bar. Bartender, Alec, gave us good suggestions on food and drinks. He went out of his way to accommodate and make us feel welcome. We will definitely go back....next time with friends.

Came here for my anniversary with my partner and it was truly worth the trip! I love the atmosphere in this space. Very romantic and it has a great vibe. We were greeted right away by the staff and they were so friendly. Our waitress was nice and very helpful. Since it was our first time we just did the unlimited tapas and it was pretty filling. We got it because we wanted to try everything and still couldn’t make it through everything. But overall the food and the experience was great and I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for a fun night out!

I really like the atmosphere of this place. I took a friend here who was visiting from out of town and we did the unlimited tapas. The food was quite good. The only turn off was that everything was served on very thick bread. It seemed like the presentation was done in a manner that would fill you up quickly. Outside of the bread, the food was very good. The service was friendly and the restaurant has a fun vibe to it. I would totally come back.

I'll start this off by saying I'm very critical when it comes to food and trying new restaurants. Always looking to try something new. Movida I think was some of the best food in MKE. First time doing tapas as well and it was amazing. Service was great. Each plate came out hot and fresh almost minutes apart. Could not believe how fast it was. I would go back here 10x over. Amazing for date night as well in my opinion (that’s what we did).

Always a great place to eat with steady improvement over the years. Lately their tapas are more filling, so it's less expensive. They have an unlimited tapas option, but it's not really necessary. Also, the paella burrito is amazing!

Such a nice experience especially being it was my first time there. We were early for our reservation so we sat at the bar. Our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Carl, our server, was friendly and took good care of us. The manager, Giovanni, (spelling?) was very friendly and so much fun. The food was amazing! I will definitely be back! Thank you xo

Had brunch here, and while the food was pretty good—especially the movida paella—it was some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced at brunch. It took the server 10-15 minutes to approach our table after we were seated. The appetizers were brought out at the same time, but the entrees were not timed well. Two people were served, and then it was more than 15-20 minutes before the next two entrees were brought out, and the fifth person had to wait an additional 5 minutes after that. The restaurant wasn’t that crowded, but we had to follow up with the server at multiple points. I understand if the staff is used to Spanish tapas style service, where the small plates come out as they’re ready. But the brunch isn’t set up that way, and it creates an awkward situation where we all have to eat at separate times. We didn’t think it was primarily the fault of the server, who seemed new. We got the sense that no one was running the show.

We LOVED this place! Great menu selection, and the cozy vibes be fire pits and Spanish decor is incredible. the Barbacoa tacos are a MUST have. We also thought the curry noodles were delicious, perfectly creamy with fresh vegetables. We enjoyed the whole selection on our sangria flight, but the Soda Pop sangria was our favorite.

The food, staff, and ambience could not have been better. I went to here for dinner with a group of ten friends last night, and couldn't believe how creative and magical their outside space was, where we warmly sat despite the late November chill. Deep red-woven rug-curtains enveloped secluded tables with fire pits and heated lights about. Each plate was layers of scrumptious flavors and thoughtful textures. The staff was extremely kind, especially for our large party. Thank you for the beautiful birthday celebration, Movida.

Great date night place! Did all you can eat tapas. Being vegetarian the huge selection of meat free options was appreciated. Everything was delicious! The service was friendly, attentive, and fast! The atmosphere and seating felt very private and serene. They serve Simmas cakes so that's an added bonus. The only critique I have is that as someone that does not drink alcohol I wish they had more mocktail options. Can't wait to come back though!

We went to the fabulous Movida as my first dining out experience since covid! And it didn't disappoint! I don't know how they can make every tapas more delicious than the next bit they do. And staff were so attentive and courteous. We sat on the 'patio' in our own private area marked off by the beautiful hanging rugs with fire pits everywhere. Such a great, unique dining experience! Oops! I forgot to say thanks for their fabulous red sangria which I also make at home after taking their class in how it is made. So, so good.Thank you.

Went for endless (~75 min limit) tapas and no regrets it was all delicious. Highly recommend going in very hungry. Sangria was good. Large vegetarian selection. Ate inside but there is a cool patio with heaters.

Everything was absolutely delicious!! So many good tapas dishes to choose from, but our favorite was the roasted potatoes (make sure to add the chorizo!) I highly recommend the paella too!! Seriously the best I have ever had in the Milwaukee area!! If you get the chance, sit on the covered patio too, for an even more impressive ambiance!

The atmosphere was great. We sat "outside", which was more like indoor seating with the patio covered by a roof; open and airy but very private from the busy street corner. Tables are separated by large oriental rugs hanging from the ceiling, two or three staggered in layers, along with sheer curtains that could be drawn closed for my privacy, or in our case, to block the blinding sun. It gave a bit of a Moroccan vibe and we really enjoyed it. The food was good. We had all you can eat tapas. Which was very fun with 8 of us at the table. We got to try nearly everything in that category and with that deal we could just keep ordering more of what we loved. The service was good as well. One thing that I would add is that, needing to eat gluten free, there are some dishes not labeled gluten free, but they definitely can substitute bread for GF crackers so someone with dietary restrictions can definitely enjoy this place as well. I left feeling overly satisfied (very very full 🙂).

I went with my family for dinner. It is in the category of Spanish food, however the paella is not prepared at least similar to the traditional Spanish paella. I hope they can improve their concept. Even the musical environment could be adapted and improved… The waitress very helpful and friendly. The only thing I loved was the bread and tomato tapas, very good!

My significant other and I went here for dinner and drinks and we were not disappointed. The food was good but not the reason we would come back. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the drinks were so above what we were expecting. Definitely going to try to come back for drinks.

Saturday night of Mothers Day weekend, we arrived for our first time visit early dinner reservation and were immediately enveloped in the total experience of all things Movida. Great lively vibe, cool interiors and caring staff. Seasonal Sangria an immediate hit with wife, although the sangria samplers is on for her return visit. The tapas are expertly prepared, delivered in a staggered timely process and are generous in quantity and flavors. Potatas, mushrooms and the slightly different take in garlic shrimps (mix of pepper brine), all winners. Enter, savor, stay also for the great coffee.

Nice place and excellent service for dinner. The sangria is the best of this place. Also, we tasted the paella, it was a different one I used to eat before it but this version is really good. Tapas are good too but I think the portion could be more generous for tasting better and appropiate for the price. Nice experience!

I opted to get the unlimited tapas option at Movida so I was able to try just about almost everything on the menu. And let me tell you there wasn't a single bad dish served. Everything was delicious and the portions were more than generous for a tapas style restaurant. The drinks also were a great. If you want a good Spanish style cuisine I highly recommend giving Movida a try!
