Absolute Milwaukee haunt. It’s a classic. Not only will you be living Milwaukee history coming to one of the oldest cocktail bars in the city, but you’ll also feel like you’re living in a Quentin Tarantino film. Drinks: damn good. Fair priced. Plenty go to cocktails for $10-$12. Bowl drinks to share. I’m a sucker for ice cream and those ice cream drinks don’t play. Cherry in New York was great. Atmosphere: Some of the coolest vibes in Milwaukee. You feel like you should be sucking down a cigarette among the dark lighting, mirrors, wood paneling, lamps, and leather seating. This is a prime date spot, place to stop and sort of pregame with friends, or to just experience Milwaukee cocktail bar culture. Service: The only wait staff that was working was an absolute sweetheart. They were super bubbly and fun. Just made me smile. Absolutely awesome while completely on top of providing solid service. They alone make me want to return! You need to stop here!

A Milwaukee staple. Not only are you getting an iconic Milwaukee experience but you are also enjoying an amazing drink while doing it! I took my wife here for her 33rd birthday and I ordered the Hot Buttered Rum, she ordered the Spike Hot Cider. Both we done to perfection and warmed the soul. At Random has been around for years and for good reason. You will find few places like it. Just go and check it out for yourself! As of this writing they have the place decorated for Christmas which adds to the ambiance. You can not go wrong with stopping in for a drink. They have warm drinks, classic cocktails and ice cream drinks. Something for everyone.

Fantastic place! The drinks are fantastic, and so is the staff! Spent some time in the outside heated Hut and I highly recommend checking it out!

At Random is eccentricity at its best and a must if you ever long for the nostalgia of the 60s and the classic ice cream and tiki drinks that accompany those bygone days! I loved everything about this bar, from the old electric fireplaces that adorn the walls and take me right back to my Grandfather's basement bar from my childhood in Wisconsin to the formica bar top and carpet covered bar sides! The red lighting takes it to a whole new level, and the knowledgeable, friendly, and humorous bar staff keep it light and entertaining. The Love Bowl is great for couples, but mind the "it doesn't taste like alcohol-ness" of the drink... it'll sneak up on you! Known for their ice cream drinks, I wouldn't pass up a chance to try the Grasshopper or Pink Squirrel! If you get a chance, chat up your bartender about the history of At Ramdom or the sculpture in the back room, and you will certainly be told some great stories! This place can get busy very quickly, and they don't take reservations, so we recommend getting here early to grab a seat at the bar!

Ten out of ten would recommend. It has a calming atmosphere that is perfect for a chill night or date night. The oldies music is great for background music as you have a conversation with your significant other or coworker. This isn't the best place for a dozen guys to hang out at and take shots after a soccer game, but that's not really what they're going for. Definitely great for small group conversations. The bartenders are what differentiate this place from others. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Especially one bartender in particular. I think her name was Danielly or Daniella. She was very welcoming, made delicious drinks, and made great recommendations all night long. We had some quick conversations in between her making drinks, and she seems like someone I would enjoy working with if given the chance. Overall, this is an outstanding place and should be visited at least once.

Beautiful summer night in Milwaukee. Three of us sit down and order a round of delicious boozy ice cream drinks at $11 a pop. I sipped mine down and became thirsty so I walked into the bar (which was dead) where there were 2 bartenders and one barback and I asked for 1 water. The bartender told me they charge for a bottle of water but will let it slide THIS time only. I’ve never been told the water behind the bar isn’t free especially after spending over $40. Perhaps I’m overreacting but I’ll never come back.

What a place! As a lover of all things kitsch, I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and drink selection at At Random. My favorite was the beautiful collection of swung vases above the bar and the complimentary post cards at the door. The drinks are boozy and reasonably priced. The service was also very good! The outdoor space is also just a fantastic as the inside. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to other vintage, kitsch enthusiasts!

First time visiting last night. Our first impression was horrible. The hostess was extremely rude and condescending. When we checked in, told there was a wait. We asked if we can wait at the bar and was told “We do not do that here” so we waited by the door. We noticed 2 tables opened and stated this among our group of 4. He must have overheard and said “ Do not worry about those tables. Those are reserved “ And continued to tell another waitress that these people obviously don’t understand this place. I’ve never been treated this way, or talked down to at any establishment. At this point we wanted to leave but because we drove 30 minutes here, decided to stay. As we were seated the customer service was night and day difference. Treated as customers should be. The drinks were absolutely delicious and the Ambience was relaxing. Dim lighting, retro decor. As a business, first impressions are everything and this establishment with the male hostess was horrible. The Owner needs to be aware of how customers are treated when first walking in. Would have gave 5 stars.

Super aesthetic and fun place with indoor and outdoor seating options. The indoor space feels like you've stepped into a different world, or at least different time period 😍 Fun old-school swing/big band music when I was there. I believe the indoor area gets busier as the night goes on, so be prepared for a wait (for groups), or try to get there earlier in the evening. Outdoor seating is equally as pleasant and fun to hang out at - great for dates or friend gatherings! And super delicious tropical/tiki cocktails and ice cream cocktails, with vegan ice cream options!

A fun place for a get together!! I attended a MEMORIAL get-together to celebrate the life of a friend who passed away in February 2022. At Random has a really comfortable patio area, for outdoor parties. It was very enjoyable. It's been a fixture in Bay View, Wi for quite a long time & it's quite a popular business. I recommend it highly. It's clean, comfortable and enjoyable!! 👍

While staying in Milwaukee for the weekend my girlfriend wanted to stop at at random after seeing pictures online of their boozy shakes so we decided to visit during later hours around 1:30 and we're happy to see they stay open as late as other bars but were also disappointed because the patio that we looked forward to sitting on was closed at that time so we had to sit inside but glad we did because the whole Ambiance of the place just has a feeling that takes you back in time it's very dark with a red lighting all around giving it a very cool vibe. At random offers a very large variety of specialty shakes with a menu multiple pages long full of delicious options and we decided to go with one of the many varieties of pina coladas they offer I can't remember specifically which one but it was very good and appealing to the eye and I was especially happy to see that they offer a dairy free ice cream because I'm usually not able to have alcohol shakes being lactose intolerant so I was very grateful that they cater to those with dairy allergies and it did not take away from the experience at all because this was the best pina colada I've had and I've had a lot. The service that night was great and our waitress was very friendly so we decided to come back the next night at a earlier time to enjoy their patio and while somewhat small they managed to do a lot with the space they have a few covered Dome like tents for you to sit in which seats around six people each they have games to play but the big downside to enjoying their patio is that you get nowhere near the full selection offered inside the bar which was the biggest disappointment because with the very large menu that they have you can only choose from a few of their drinks if you are outside and that sucks because the weather was great that night and all we wanted to do was try two specific drinks we were looking at from the night before and were not able to have them unless we drank indoors which took away from the whole reason we even came back in the first place and ended up getting a cookies and cream shake which was good but not what we wanted or came for so I would like to see them change this and offer their full menu to customers in the patio section but aside from that we both had an overall great experience and I would recommend them to anybody in the mood for something sweet and intoxicating.

This is one of my favorite bars of all time. The place is a corner neighborhood bar. Been there since the 60's. The interior has that vintage, wood paneling, comfy booths, dark as sin kind of vibe. And I absolutely love it. They also have a small patio where you can sit outside and order drinks. You can't get the full menu outside, so keep that in mind. Everyone was on the patio ordering their dole whip - so I assume that it's good cause so many people outside ordered one. I love the ice cream cocktails. I have a dairy allergy and it's the only place that I have found that serves vegan ice cream cocktails - complete with vegan whipped cream and cookie. I have even got the "Diana" cup to bring home. (Her statue is in the back room.) Such a unique place. My boyfriend and I have tried so many cocktails and there hasn't been one I haven't loved.

This place is the definition of vibes. Great post dinner spot to satisfy your sweet tooth and to keep the drinking going. Highly recommend the espresso martini, but enjoyed sharing the chocolate boozy milkshakes as well!

Decor is on point. The bar staff is very pleasant. I only gave four stars because their drinks leave something to be desired. There doesn’t seem to be any house made ingredients and they use a lot of sugary syrups and kinda cheap ingredient items. If you’re looking for a complex amazing cocktail this place won’t be that place. If you want a cute sugary drink in an awesome environment then this is your place. It’s def a cute place to bring a group of friends also since pretty big on the inside. It’s pretty much a vintage bar meets an ice cream shoppe, Not a place for a hardcore cocktail lover.

The boozy butter pecan milkshake drink was yummy! The other drink I got was alright. The service was very slow, though. Even to get a glass of water, which was then forgotten about, it took about 20 minutes. If the service was at a quicker pace, I could’ve enjoyed an extra beverage or two during the 2.5 hour period I spent here.

Hadn't been here in about 10 years, but it was just as I remembered. Totally dig the Mid-Century vibe. Got a Pink Lady and Vesper for my drinks. When they got super busy and our 2nd round wasn't ready, the server offered us some of their house punch, which was delicious! Will definitely be back.

Fantastic Place. Wonderful Atmosphere. On Street Parking in a nice area... Get there just after they open (5pm) and you wont be waiting for a table. There is inside seating and outside seating in heated greenhouse enclosed glass type huts for rent. Awesome and Fun. The Cocktail selection has Everything you can imagine. The Alcoholic Ice Cream Drinks were great, they even have non-alcoholic drinks for you DD. The Mood Lighting is fun. Its a great place for conversation and drinks without being loud. Cozy. We are definitely going back.

At Random was a great vintage bar before Covid...They transformed and created an amazing Patio landscape with individual heated clear bunkers....They have this safety thing under control. It was an amazing experience again given the fact that the inside is closed except for a Bathroom. We reserved a private bunker and we had 90 mins to enjoy a few of their specialty drinks...it was nice to get out with our immediate family and feel safe and relax with a few drinks...well be back!!

Want to visit the 30's? Want a truly unique experience? Want a huge selection of delicious specialty drinks? Do you like ice cream drinks? Well get up off your duff and get on in the AT Random. The old style lounge feel with the muted orange lighting, complete with old lounge music and old style seating make this a fun adventure. The drink menu is in a 3 ring binder. Trust me, you will find something you will want to drink. Prices are not as cheap as the local corner bar, but for what you get, very reasonable. I love gin so I had a Corpe Reviver. Good lord was that yummy! Then I couldn't resist the urge and had a chocolate/raspberry ice cream drink. Heaven! Seriously, if you are looking at this and have an urge, do the right thing and go. You may have to wait a while to get in, but it WILL be worth it.

Love love love this place! Retro 50s cocktail bar, dim red lighting, vintage booths, any icecream cocktail you could ever want. Hidden gem for sure. So glad we randomly stumbled upon this bar

I’m obsessed with this place. It’s so relaxing. The red lighting and jazzy retro music makes me want to sink into the couches and drink 5 shakes.

The atmosphere is very chill, we felt like we were in another era (in a good way). The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, Dan the bartender took amazing care of us. We didn't have any of the ice cream drinks but saw a few of them made an they look so good!! The drinks we did have (both gin based) were phenomenal and did not take an excessive time for the bar to make. I will be back and will be bringing people from out of town!! Highly recommend.

What a fun atmosphere! Previously owned and operated by a bunch of elderly people and open "At Random" times now is a "normal" cocktail lounge. It's as if you're walking into the 1970s. WONDERFUL boozy ice cream drinks. Definitely what they're known for. They started offering outdoor seating amongst Christmas trees and lights inside a heated dome during covid. Fun experience to go with a couple friends but still bundle up!
