It took everything in me to visit this area. I literally had to get my nerves under control. I'm quite happy I decided to return with my husband by my side. The last time I visited the World Trade Center was days after the buildings fell and the smell still haunts me. Returning here gives everyone an opportunity to heal. Whether you were in the city the day of or watched on TV, you can always visit and pay respect to those who were lost in this tragic event.

The 9/11 Memorial is an absolute must-stop when visiting NYC. Allow ample time so that you are not rushed. Allow your emotions to swirl as you read, listen, watch, and remember. Allow yourself to move at your pace. Once you are done, walk Outside to the reflecting pools and process what you experienced. And I highly encourage you to visit multiple times over the years.

Such a nice memorable place, the pool is great and got a lot of meaning, the names of those who died during that day are engraved on the Pool sides. When you’re there you feel how sad that day was and how much people suffered. May they rest in peace, and god bless the people who worked on changing this place into a nice memorable venue

A most visit for anyone. The architecture design is modern, crisp and perfect as a memorial pool, the constant water flow a reminder of the water of life. The mood is palpable and our visit will always be remembered.

A must visit while in NY. Memorial fountain on the once stood twin tower building. Never built any building on it. Museum of 9/11 nearby. Shaded areas with benches to sit.

Very nice memorial at the original location of the towers. The names of all the victims are engraved on the side. Made us very humble. Relatives have also left pictures, messages and flags attached to some of the names.

The North Tower Pool at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City is a poignant tribute, occupying the footprint where the North Tower of the World Trade Center once stood. This solemn space is defined by the largest man-made waterfalls in North America, which cascade down the sides into a seemingly bottomless square, signifying the depth of the loss felt by a city, a nation, and the world. The pool is surrounded by bronze panels on which the names of every person who died in the terrorist attacks of 2001, as well as those from the 1993 bombing, are inscribed. The arrangement of the names is meaningful; they are placed not alphabetically, but in a pattern reflecting where individuals were, their affiliations, and personal relationships, telling a silent story of the lives intertwined by tragedy. As the water flows endlessly into the void, the pool evokes a sense of continuous memory and the perpetual nature of remembrance. The sounds of the waterfalls create a hushed sanctuary, offering a respite from the bustle of the city and allowing for a personal moment of reflection for visitors. The North Tower Pool is a site of collective mourning and individual sorrow, but also a place for collective healing, remembering those we lost, and celebrating the unyielding human spirit that rises in response to adversity.

It was an honor to finally visit the memorial of the site where the two world trade center towers stood. It is a beautiful memorial to those who died in the towers and emergency responders and bystanders who heroically gave their lives that day. Very solemn and emotional experience. I think most people are respectful while on the property which is very nice to see.

The Pool commemorating victims who were in the North Tower during the 9/11 attacks. Their names are engraved and a white rose stuck in them means that this person would celebrate their birthday that day. The roses are being put there by the 9/11 Memorial Museum staff. Very moving and reflective place. A must-see for everyone coming to the NY.

A place of recording and respect for those who died in the World Trade Center attack on 11th September, 2001. People's names were engraved on the site. May the peace of God be with these people and their relatives.

Something to visit when in New York. The memorial is closed on Tuesdays so plan your visit around that. The whole area is a large park and there’s a lot of space to wonder around while visiting the site. At night the location is cordoned off and guards will petrol the area.

Amazing location, completely humbling. The beauty of this location and peaceful feel truly drives home the importance of the monuments. The names are a sobering reminder of all those lost. Understandably emotion provoking but a location you must hit while in the city

It's a very stark place to go to. It's a very good perspective check. I like the design and the simplicity of it, yet it carved deep and remains, to remember. It was disturbing to see people taking smiling selfies in front of the north tower pool, but that's what you get in 2023.

Much like the other pool, this is a place that all, not just Americans, should take the time to visit. Try to think back on that day and all the hurt that we all went thru. Take the time to reflect on your life since that day, even if you were not alive at that time. It can get busy so go early in the day. There are many reminders on the towers in the city and this is a good spot to start that journey of that fateful day.

So simple yet so overwhelming. Both Tower Pools are right where the World Trade Center twin towers once stood. The names of the people who lost their lives during the 9/11 attack are carved around the walls of the waterfall-like fountain.

Simply impressive. I stood on the tower in 1991 and can't imagine what people went through when the planes hit.

This site must be visited yes or yes. It is a very well-kept and very secure space. Personally, it imposed a lot on me. The history behind these monuments gives anyone goosebumps. It is a place you have to go to with great respect.

Very impressive monuments with insane surroundings. Next to it is the associated museum. On the list every time we visit NYC. πŸ—½

Next to the base of the terrorist tower on September 11, 2001, the United States built a new modern tower that is taller, brighter and more beautiful. Around the two old tower foundations, there are a number of stylized tree structures that symbolize America's strength and strength after the past traumatic event.

An astonishing place. It’s hard not feel the power of the crashing water that is no doubt intended to evoke feeling. Spend a few minutes if you can just listening to the water and think about all those that perished on 9/11. It’s hard not to feel some emotion when standing there.
