    I was very excited to try Ulta’s hair services because it seemed very professional and… what could possibly go wrong at Ulta? I won’t display the stylist’s name because degrading someone for their work isn’t something I would like to do, but I’m sure she will recognize her work. I just don’t understand how my hair went from what I asked to what I got, before she did anything to me we obviously discussed what I WANTED (a trim on my ends to remove any damage and CHUNKY HIGHLIGHTS). I came in with plain brown hair almost down to my waist and showed her a picture of what I wanted multiple times and I guess she was just not looking? This process took almost 4 hours and I had no problem with that because I was so excited for the outcome (little did I know). Minutes after the service was done my hair was frizzy, looked undone and very unprofessional. I payed over $300 dollars for whatever she did to me, walked out, called my friend to really look at my hair to make sure I wasn’t crazy and we both just wanted to cry for me. I obviously went back to complain to the manager who seemed annoyed and very dismissive, but still offered to FIX MY HAIR. I accepted out of desperation, I just hated my hair so much. After talking to many people, showing them what I wanted and seeing how much hair she CHOPPED OFF (bc it’s not even straight and some strands are longer that others) I just decided that Ulta was not an option for me, so I went back and got refund (that was the least they could do). I’m never ever going back to Ulta, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ULTA FOR ANY HAIR SERVICE. TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

    I have found a high quality hair product in their website, they had a option to pick up in the store. This i avoided shipping charges. Very convenient. I was in the area anyways. They have a dedicated order pickup room and dedicated person there. Pick up was smooth and quick. She has a very positive attitude and polite. Floor manager (She) overlooking everything quirky. Comforting! Store was organized and they had basics as well as very high end products. I had a pretty good experience ! Keep up the good work. By the way music was NOT loud, thank you for that…

    I would say overall I like the products here. In regards to the service. .it's half and half. Some Staff are pleasant and others just look at you lol I'm not a person who requires help with shopping because I know what I'm looking for. If your a person who requires help with finding products (good luck to you ) Will I be back ? Yes because I'm coming for the products not the service. If it was the other way around, probably wouldn't. This location is pretty busy but expected it's on 34th street.

    Made decision to purchase curlsmith hair products solely due to the offer for a free microfiber towel - they told me they ran out of the gift at the start of the month (why is the sign still up everywhere??) Also came to Ulta cause I saw the email for my birthday gift. They were also out of the birthday gift. They said they couldn't even offer as a replacement. When I pushed they offered this plastic bag thing - like legit something that looked like it was supposed to come with something in it but they were just offering me the packaging.

    As an out of Towner, I was super excited to be in an NYC Ulta...however, the MANY sales associates cluttered the already crowded aisles to gossip, while shelves were empty and shoppers were left to fend for themselves to find products. I was surprised to not be able to find products I normally have in my Virginia stores. The store was clean and checkout was very quick and efficient. Not that it matters, but I won't come back the next time I'm in the city.

    Tried to return something here for my girlfriend WITH THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT. Moronic cash register lady tells me I can’t return an item this big (it was a blow dryer brush, like tf?) for someone else. It doesn’t say this anywhere on their store policy btw. I tried to give the buyer’s email/phone too but no dice. Idiotic staff and customer service. Would not recommend. Also, their blow dryers are straight garbage.

    Came in to purchase last minute beauty supplies for holiday shopping when I was ready to pay Quintin your employee aggressively told me that I had to take stuff outside my basket & to put on the counter which I would think would be his job. Proceeded to ask for my phone number I had to repeat 3 times because he was not Paying attention when he asked For my phone number three times he didn’t ask politely was very aggressive with his tone. Told me that there is no profile under my name which is weird because I have a a whole master card with ulta. Proceeded to ask for my ID which was very uncomfortable ulta never asks for my ID. Overall be was making Me do HIS JOB do not hire people Like Quintin I’m Sure I’m not the first he gives nasty attitude to especially to ulta members

    The store itself is fine. Clean. Well lit. Glorified drugstore with a few high end brands. My issue is with their BIZARRE RETURN POLICY! I was returning 2 bottles of high end $60 foundation within 30 days of purchase date. All was going smoothly at the register until the clerk asked me for the gift samples back!!! I was confused and speechless. They were promos that came with my order, so why would they want them back??? Macys and Sephora has NEVER asked for that stuff back and even looked at me in horror when I offered it back! But the Ulta manager was condescending and insistent about getting the used or empty samples back and refused my return! UNBELIEVABLE! I made sure to read the return policy 2x beforehand and nowhere does it explicitly say that "gifts with purchase" are required for returns. The manager was taking a liberal interpretation of "components". To me, "components" of a product are its packaging, product and any applicators that came packed inside with the product. Thankfully I still have the empties but this is a complete waste of my time to have to make 2 trips! So be mindful NOT to throw away the promos if you might return product that you ACTUALLY paid for or you'll be stuck with them. I would've returned by mail IF they made THAT process logical or easy! 99% of big chain stores offer free returns or will deduct $6 from your refund to use their prepaid label but Ulta makes you go to USPS and pay for actual shipping weight. So you're Screwed if returning something large or heavy items like bottles since anything thicker than 1/2" and rigid is considered Priority Mail and automatically cost $12 minimum! NEVER AGAIN WITH ULTA! Sephora is not as petty!

    Let’s start off with the fact that this store is out of stock of plenty of things everytime I walk in, not just that but the cashier “Kianna” who “””took care of me””” needs to learn good costumer service. I wasn’t greeted when I approached the register so I decided to say “how are you” not a single word back from her, she proceeded to have a nasty attitude as she was ringing me up and can’t seem to do her her job properly in terms of finding prices of items. Someone please train her and teach her mannerism and friendliness as that is a big part of her job.

    The staff is SO rude here. I came in for a perfume that I got as a sample. The lady who helped me, who I assume was some kind of manager because she had a set of keys to open the glass cases, looked SUPER annoyed to help me and even gave me an attitude when I asked if she would be bringing the perfume from the back to me or to the register. Coming from someone who works in a high pressure job, I get having a bad or busy day but you have to set your emotions aside and do your job right. I will not be returning. The two times I have been here have both been really unpleasant and has left a bitter taste in my mouth. There are better stores with much kinder employees actually willing to help you than this Ulta in the area. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

    Horrible experience. I went to buy cologne for my fiance for Christmas, and literally every single cologne sample was locked behind the glass. So, I had to wait for someone with the key to come open the case for every single cologne that I wanted to smell. Very inconvenient. Go to another location if you can.
