I am so thrilled with Koala as a timeshare owner of Shell points. I had a week at Peacock Suites in Anaheim that I forgot to cancel. I was within the penalty cancellation period, which would mean a loss of a significant number of my Shell points. Instead of cancelling and losing points, I listed it on Koala. It was verified within a few hours. Just a few days later, my week rented with Koala. I am thrilled with Koala. I have tried Redweek for the rentals I have for Peacock Suites and have had little success. I love that Koala has protection for me as an owner as well. If a renter damages the unit, the company has insurance to cover the damage. That's another worry I do not have. It's great for my peace of mind. With no upfront fees and the wide audience Koala seems to attract, I see no reason to use other rentals sites for my other rentals. I have now had 8 successful rentals through Koala.

Traveler Beware: I booked a vacation stay months in advance only to have my reservation canceled 7 days prior to check-in due to changes within the resort. The only communication I received was via email from an employee who claimed they were forced to cancel after exhausting all other efforts. When I reached out via phone, I was contacted by the same employee who had signed the email but then presented a conflicting story from what was in the email, saying they had just found out and canceled the reservation. If you exhaust all efforts, I, personally, think you probably knew before being forced to cancel. When I explained my distress about the situation and the urgency to rectify the situation due to my upcoming travel plans, I was met with a "not my problem" attitude. I asked to speak to a manager and was told the representative I was speaking with was the only manager of customer relations, which is more than concerning. I asked to speak to the boss or superior and as a response I could hear laughing in the background what I can only assume to be more unprofessional co-workers. The representative would not let me speak to a manager or superior today but instead explained that she would type up notes regarding my reservation and send in. I asked to be cc'd on that document so that I would know exactly what was happening. The representative said "that's not going to happen" and eventually said that I would be included but I, in fact, was not. Lastly, the call was ended by the representative hanging up on me without a single word of closure. Not a "bye", "Have a nice day", or "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." I have booked with KOALA previously and had a great experience, but this last minute cancellation and poor example of customer service will be the absolute last time I even consider booking with this company and I would encourage any one looking for honest review to take heed to this warning before it is 7 days until your check-in and have no where to stay. Update: I did receive an email from the representative with information she was passing on to her superior within 90 minutes of posting this review.

For an older timeshare owner with too many medical issues and too many timeshare points, Koala has been a blessing. I have posted over a dozen properties and sold ten. I feel great knowing that someone is going to have a holiday in a two bedroom condo instead of a one-room hotel with two beds for the same price. I use Koala even with neighbors because it gives both the renter and me a contract we can count on. I especially like the emails from Koala reminding me to check my listings or telling me when one has been purchased or one that may have been cancelled. My timeshare company has a website that would let me rent listings, however, their business model is the pits and they charge 40%. Ack! I have been advertising my Koala listings on our community newsletter to advertise the benefits of Koala. Big thank you from me to Koala.

Fantastic experience all around! The reservation process was quick and easy, allowed me to make payments before the trip, and was very user friendly. Our check-in was flawless and our room was ready five hours before schedule. The resort was beautifully landscaped and maintained, the staff was helpful and friendly, and our room was very comfortable. We stayed in a poolside studio, which was big enough for two, and clean, and we never heard any noise from the pool unless we sat on our patio. Laundry was complimentary and available 24-hours a day. The pool is awesome and is connected to a beautiful beach. Some spots you could be at the pool in one direction and literally on the beach if you turned your chair around! The local neighborhood beach is a quick 5-min walk or they offer a free shuttle from the hotel. The walk is quick, but kind of treacherous and messy if it’s rained recently. The Shoreside restaurant is also a quick walk in the opposite direction, they serve good local food and the views pretty great! The resort itself isn’t super close to anything else, they do have a small market and one restaurant, but both are expensive, so be prepared. You need to take a taxi to go anywhere, so that’s the only thing we didn’t love, but the location and grounds were beautiful, clean, quiet and felt safe at all times.

I just had a very kind, helpful person assist me with a listing. Her name was Laura and she went out of her way to resolve my problem (my computer kept changing the email address). She went through every part of the reservation process to make sure all the information was complete and accurate.

This was absolutely the best service I ever had. Check is was awesome at Kingsgate resort in Williamsburg, VA. I arrived way.... earlier than my check in time and my room was ready. Let me say to my new KOALA friends. Thank you all so much for y'all awesome service and keeping me updated with everything and what I need to bring for check in. I will definitely spread the word to family and friends about y'all awesome service. Thank you🤗

I’m a timeshare owner and I’ve been with Koala under a month now. So far one of my suggested listings have been booked and the Koala team has been extremely helpful to all my questions etc.

I had an issue during my reservation and this is the moment you can tell how this would be handled by the property manager, in this case by Koala. They understood the problem and fixed it in a timely manner. Thank you. I would recommend them.

Terrible experience with koala, tried their gold service last year, but misled as to payouts. They implied various rental rates but turns out only payout at mvc maintenance fee levels in $0.70 range....and you pay $189 for the privilege. Impossible to cancel, tried a month after signing up last year, but they say no refunds. Told me I need to cancel before the renewal date. I left messages and emails to cancel prior to dec 14 renewal date....no reply and guess what...they charged my card again for another year....what a scam. Stay away from this company
