They double downed on their policy of kicking out a couple on the wedding night. This place is a SHAME. Your policy for ID checking is meant to verify identity? Great! Then don’t deny a government issued form of ID as valid. We gave you our confirmation number, showed you all the emails confirming our stay, showed you our NYC Covid safe ID that has our driver license number and a photo! But sure, our identity still isn’t “verified.” The hotel uses “the law” to justify a bad call instead of just owning up to a mistake - laughable.

This most certainly should not be a 5* hotel. The arrival was not bad at all, we did notice straight away the lack of seating in the lobby but did not thing too poorly of it. We arrived a little earlier than check in time (arrived at around 2 pm) one room was ready the other one wasn’t. We have our ID and credit card and went for a walk to return at 4pm (when the second room would’ve been ready). It was ready but we could not receive the keys since we left our passports in the first room (even though they were in the system). We had to go up and get them. Overall room cleaning was good but we only experienced it twice in a 5 night stay. We were jet lagged so would wake up early and left the hotel at around 8. We asked for the rooms to be cleaned before noon as that was the time we were planning to come back. At noon, the room was not cleaned so we called them and they assured us it would be done as soon as possible. We quickly left our room so it would be done and came back an hour later for the cleaning to not even be started. Evening service was a joke. They came in at 10pm or even later at which time we had already been sleeping. The spa was closed completely. The furniture showed considerable wear and tear, the bath was almost falling apart. The cleaning staff, with dirty mops, pushes into the elevators with the guests rather than waiting for the next one to come. The only positive (which is why it is a 2 star review rather than a 1) was Justin at the front desk who did his best to help. Overall paying over $10,000 for 5 nights for two rooms is absolutely not worth it. This is not the same Langham you find in Boston, London, etc. Edit: forgot about the welcome snack, it was amazing but only had it in one room…

My husband and two kids (10 and 14) stayed here in a one bedroom suite and it was perfect! It is pricey, but if you can splurge -- I recommend it greatly. The accommodations are great - good sized rooms. Our suite had a little kitchenette and a washer/dryer which was wonderful with two boys! The location is superb. The staff was attentive and kind. We will definitely be back!!!

A great location. Definitely not worth the hype. The staff was very nice. The rooms were okay. We got a free night here. I would definitely never pay to stay here. The interactions with staff and the apple cider were the best part of the hotel.

I've stayed at this place a bunch of times and it never disappoints. Thanks to my AMEX Fine Hotel & Resort program, I've even scored a few free upgrades - talk about feeling fancy! The rooms are super quiet, like zero noise, so you can bet on getting some awesome sleep. And let’s talk about dinner at Ai Fiori – absolutely delicious. It’s like a flavor party in your mouth. This hotel nails it every time with comfort, quiet, and killer food. Definitely my top pick for a chill stay with some serious perks.

A remarkable stay with extraordinary service. With the clutch upgrade to the suite, we didn’t want to leave! The staff was insanely accommodating and was on top of every request. We dined at the restaurant for breakfast which was fine, nothing to write home about and typical crazy NYC prices as well as the room service. The bed was comfy but the pillows were a tad soft for our taste. Guest services zoomed up some firmer foam pillows in an instant. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Stayed here on business. Everything was first class. The suite was clean and gorgeous. The bed was comfortable. The location was great. It’s a tall building so has high floors which are relatively quiet for Manhattan. The service was impeccable - from front desk, to housekeeping, to concierge. Every little detail was perfect. A fantastic 5 star hotel. I will be back.

One of the nicer hotels of NYC. Ashley at the front desk is super nice, and the doormen are beyond exceptional. The rooms are extremely spacious, especially for an NYC hotel. This hotel goes ABOVE and beyond standards of service. I wish I could give them a 10 star. They are legitimately phenomenal. You simply cannot beat this hotels vibe or service. You will be treated like a king, they are so kind and accommodating, this is truly what a 5 star hotel is, a Michelin five star!

It is unfortunate that someone would get all or their friends to write bad reviews because they don't have their act together. This is a top notch hotel. Gov issued ID and credit card people, not a COVID pass. Who doesn't carry that? First time in a hotel???

My only complaint is we only stayed 1 night! Next time we will stay longer. Great hotel if you are coming into Penn Station, easy walk. Great location. Amazing room, very large, safe, clean and quiet. Everyone was very nice. Can't wait to go back.

B E W A R E I have stayed at this hotel several times, but I will not stay here again. After a problematic stay (partying neighbors all night long / hotel is only managed by one person at night who was powerless to do anything about it) - after all that - We got a ticket in the mail a few weeks after our stay. While the valet had our car, we got a citation for illegal parking. I immediately reached out to the hotel about this issue, and they assured me they would pay the fine. They did not follow up on that promise, and now the city of NY is threatening to send me to collections for this matter. I had to follow up again (and again and again) about this, and the hotel manager is totally unhelpful. This is a poorly run property by all accounts. If you are considering staying here - do yourself a favor. Sort reviews by lowest first, and read all the other bad reviews. I can agree wholeheartedly with a bunch of them.

We had such a wonderful stay! We felt right at home the entire time. Excellent staff, rooms were so spacious and extra clean. Bathrooms were beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. Room service was always delicious. Everything was top notch! Will be recommending to all our friends and family. Thank you again, for such a delightful stay and for helping us extend our stay when we needed to.- Pulido family.

I booked this hotel for 2 nights and both nights were exceptional. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. They remember your name, they greet you any chance they get and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I seen one of the bellman floating around on the floor a couple of times and he went out of his way to ask me about my day and things I mentioned prior that most people probably would have forgot about. I forgot a tie and needed one badly for an event. I did some Google searching about where to get one and knew there was a Macy's around, just didn't know exactly what direction. The receptionist walked me out of the hotel and pointed me in the right direction and gave me further directions. The cleaning staff made sure my room was in tip top shape and even when I was in the room, they asked me what a good time to come back and clean would be. I told them and low and behold when I came back to my room for the evening, everything was like it was when I first walked in. Except my gym shirt I had hanging to dry over the shower rod was now on a hanger in the bathroom. Wonderful. The bathroom has this 3ft deep tub. Literally about 3 ft. Amazing. If you are on the shorter end, getting in and out my be a little rough but you can sit and then swing your legs into it. It's the perfect size for a bath for almost all sizes. I'm 6'1 220lbs and I fit comfortably. There is also the shower head directly overhead which is nice. There are all the toiletries needed from q-tips to nail files inside the bathroom for use. The soaps are all super great quality. The room is a good size and the bed is very comfortable. The mini fridge is stocked with beer, wine, soft drinks, and energy drinks. There is also a coffee espresso machine along with mini snack boxes for those late night or mid day pick me ups. Room service was exceptional. Quick delivery and the food was amazing. Highly recommend if staying in and ordering in. Pricey but what can you expect? The gym is another highlight. Beautiful with a good amount of equipment to get a great workout in! Overall, highly recommend staying here especially with proximity to many things within shouting distance.

Positives: Great location. Excellent staff, service was top-notch. I’d rate both of those elements 5/5. Negatives: The bed is exceptionally uncomfortable; I’ve slept on pull-out couches that were better. As you can see in the picture, the mattress is extremely thin. It was so uncomfortable, I even went down to ask the front desk if this was just an issue in my room, or if all beds at the hotel are like this. The kind gentleman at the desk confirmed all of their beds are the same. I’m genuinely shocked by the fact a hotel of this ilk would have such poor-quality beds. It’s basically a mattress topper placed atop a bed foundation—just unbelievably bad. For what you pay to stay here, it’s a joke. 0/5 stars. Overall, I love the Langham brand and have had wonderful stays at their Chicago location, but I would not stay at the NYC location again. I would not recommend this hotel.

Came with great expectations but quite disappointed. The elevators are ultra slow. So are all services ranging for maintenance to housekeeping and room service. Seem really stretched. The absence of dining choices is painful Ai Fiori serves only breakfast 730-11 and dinner. And that’s it. Rooms are fine. Overall not at all a good value for the money

I wanted to love. But 7 hours after checkout they decided to charge me for additional items I did not take from the minibar. There was no moisturizer in the room and had to request they finished stocking the room. At turn down service they only turned down half the bed. So no water etc for 1 person I guess. For $2k a night they should be on their game.

The Langham denied my friend and her husband their hotel room on their wedding night despite having made all the appropriate arrangements months prior to the event. They had their confirmation number and a valid credit card on file. The clerk allowed them to CANCEL the reservation but did not let them stay in the room, which makes no logical sense. All of this also occurred at 3AM on their wedding night. The hotel turned them onto the street...I could not be more disappointed and heartbroken for them, and I implore the Langham to do this better and make this right.

I would love to give this hotel 5 stars because there was a lot about our stay that was INCREDIBLE but plenty that was really awful. We stayed for 2 weeks in November in a room with a kitchen, it was lovely and very clean. Biggest complaint with the room is that you had to ask for kitchenware. It should have been equipped with at LEAST some silverware, pots and pans, mugs, a sponge… but when you arrive there is nothing in the drawers. There wasn’t even a rack for the Miele microwave/oven combo. It felt like they didn’t want us to use the kitchen, so we.. didn’t. Even though that’s 90% why we paid nearly 2 grand a night to stay here. Second, there was someone near our room or on our floor that was smoking cigarettes nearly our entire stay. We called at least 10 times about this and nothing was done, just apologies. I’m sure the housekeepers could smell who it was when cleaning rooms, I’m not sure why nothing was done. I have asthma and our room reeked. It was terrible. I told the front desk at the end of the stay and they gave us a credit for our purchase at the bar, it was around $160. $160 for a $17,000 stay was a joke. Someone was supposed to call us and follow up but never did. We left a check that needed to be mailed ASAP with the concierge and it was never mailed. It’s been 2 weeks and the cashier’s check never arrived at its destination. The least they could do is mail a check! We called the bank to stop payment on the check, and they said we have to return to the original branch to do so. We are from out of town so that isn’t an option. Our renovations have been delayed 3 weeks AND we are out an extra $750. Wonderful! The saving grace of this stay was the Langham Club. Breakfast is great, the chef is wonderful and the staff is top tier. They were so lovely, kind, attentive, and helpful. Loved the option to go have a snack any time of day. When you’re paying nearly $20k for a 2 week stay, you expect everything to be near perfect. I won’t recommend staying here to anyone I like.

I can’t say enough about the customer service at this hotel. The front service desk was very friendly and accommodating, and the bell services team was excellent. The hotel itself is beautiful with large spaces rooms with incredible midtown views. Our family of 4 was very comfortable here. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The only reason we walked into the lobby was to see the wonderful holiday decor. It was so beautiful where we took photos. I never heard of Langham Hotels but from looking at this luxury decor I liked what I saw. The staff looked professional and helpful. The location was not bad where close to Empire State Building and right on 5th Avenue where will think about staying here for our next trip.

We stayed here for the weekend and were very happy with our stay. We received a complimentary upgrade, our room was very clean, and we were happy with the location of the hotel. There is 1 thing that separates this hotel from most - THE SERVICE. Every aspect from bell hopper, front desk, housekeeping, and management is beyond what you'll experience anywhere else. The attention to detail is gratifying.

Very nice hotel, very clean, very good location, very nice rooms. Best of all is the management (especially Erica! 🤗). We wanted a better accommodation and she bent backwards to make it happen. And that’s what matters; you want to make sure that the business cares for their customers’ satisfaction and that you’re not just a $. This is a winning business because they really care. I would reserve directly with the hotel (not 3rd parties, like Expedia), this way they can take care of any issues or dissatisfaction and you don’t have to go through 3rd parties who really don’t care.

At first I would like to thanks the authority of the hotel. It was an amazing journey with my family. ''The Langham''' is the most beautiful and luxurious 5 star hotel l have seen in my life. So, guys you can easily visit this hotel and can enjoy your trip safely.

  • 5/5 Christine C. 6 months ago on Google
Great experience - the rooms are comfortable, with an extremely large bathroom area. I hate the overly soft mattresses and mattress toppers you find in most hotels, and this bed was so comfortable! Employees were welcoming and efficient. The only negative - my room was next to some sort of supply room, so lots of noise and talking all day - starts early and goes through early evening. Also, the bathroom shower is in a tub with no grab bars. If you have concerns about your ability to step in, you might want to ask about accessible rooms.

This hotel will forever hold a special place in my heart. From the moment we arrived up to and including our goodbye, we were treated with so much warmth and kindness. Everyone was kind, professional and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. My family loved this place and will definitely return.

Wonderful, incredible hotel, with everything I like nearby, in addition to all this luxury, the hotel itself is an art gallery everywhere you look. Five star service from the reception to the end of the stay. There is no better hotel than this one. And New Jersey's best is right next door. A lovely place where you feel like a very important and respected person. It's worth coming back.

Stayed here for a few days several months prior…experience was lovely 😊. Convenient location, clean and comfortable rooms, sundry amenities available if requested. Staff was attentive, gracious, & responsive; everyone went the extra mile to make sure that everything was perfect. Taz (Concierge specialist) was a consummate gentleman, overall I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. 5 stars ⭐️ indeed!

Best hotel in NYC - rooms, service, location is all superb. I've stayed twice and will continue to return for trips to NYC. The employees all know you by name and are happy to help with anything, it is walking distance from great shopping and restaurants and the spa and pool are beautiful.

  • 5/5 William H. 4 months ago on Google
Have stayed here several times for business and with my family (including two young children). My experience is always perfect - the rooms are luxurious, nicely appointed and large (by NYC standards). The location couldn't be better - near Central Park, great shopping and restaurants. Despite being at a busy intersection, the street noise is minimal. Great shower/beds/towels. The differentiator is the service - top to bottom, the most attentive and courteous staff I've ever experienced. After staying here for work several times, I brought my wife and two young kids for Christmas and had an great experience, including complementary cookies and stuffed animals for my children as their thank your staying here so many times. Special thanks to Soledad Huestipac for answering our various questions prior to our stay and ensuring we had a perfect Christmas for my family.

My friends booked this hotel for their wedding night, and they were refused entry at the front desk late at night and tossed out. Inexcusable to do that to someone on their wedding day!! Their excuse for why they didn’t let my friends check in to the hotel is pitiful. The groom proved his ID, He had a card on file, and a confirmed reservation. Instead of apologizing, the hotel double downed and made it seem like their policy of requiring physical ID is reasonable…it is not. It makes no sense, do better.

This hotel defines luxury and comfort. The room was like a haven, with plush bedding, modern amenities, and attention to every detail. I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable stay. The spa services were also a highlight, providing the perfect relaxation after a day of exploring the city.

Stayed here a few times in different occasion and the service is always impeccable. The rooms are always clean and great views of the city 🏙️ 😍 Love the live jazz music at the lobby bar and also the Fiori restaurant upstairs. Very private and cozy place to eat.

Took a family weekend trip to NYC early October and was not familiar with this hotel but booked it through AMEX travel ("family room with 2 beds) and it was THE BEST hotel experience we have ever had in NYC. We visit the city frequently and have stayed in many many 4 and 5 star hotels throughout Manhattan and never had a room so large or service so amazing and genuine as we did at The Langham, and that includes many of the more well known (and more expensive) 5-star hotels in the city. We will book here again and again after this amazing experience. All of the staff was amazing from top to bottom including the engineer that had to bring something to our room for us but Amal at the front desk was especially amazing with her service. She was so kind and interactive with our young children each time we came in and out of the hotel and remembered their names every time. This place was a wildly refreshing NYC experience. I'm not usually a frequent reviewer (positive or negative) unless I have an extreme experience one way or the other but as a regular NYC hotel visitor, I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone. A+++ experience and value.

Great. Helpful staff, decent location, nice rooms. I upgraded to a room with a private terrace and that was excellent, giving me somewhere to go during the late afternoon and relax. The room itself was large and well appointed. Definitely be back.

I was thoroughly impressed with my stay. The lobby was beautiful and everything was immaculate. The rooms were spacious comfortable, had plenty of room, and pleasant. There were a few things that did not affect the quality of my stay. There were a few guests walking around without masks on and crowding elevators, but I expected such behavior from a few other guests. The bathrobes were also a little disappointing in their softness. But like I said, mild annoyances that don't effect the rating of the hotel. The bed was large and comfortable. I fell asleep without issues. The blinds blocked all the light and I couldn't hear any neighbors or above me. The shower was large and wonderful and the bathtub was luxurious and relaxing. I was completely satisfied by the room. But even more impressive was the staff. The maintenance was quick when our tub was draining when it shouldn't have been. The cleaning staff accommodated when we left and didn't disturb us to clean. I've also never used a turn down service but I really enjoyed it. And the front office was courteous and responsive. The location of the hotel is also nice. It's an easy trip from Penn Station, Central Park, or Broadway. I would definitely recommend staying.

I stayed in The Langham hotel for 2 nights with my family and I can't express enough that it was the best decision. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Manhattan from where you can walk to all the main NYC attractions. The hotel staff were really helpful, courteous and looked after us in every possible way throughout our stay. Can't recommend this hotel more. We will definitely be visiting this hotel soon :)

  • 3/5 Robert M. 1 year ago on Google
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was luxurious BUT there were standard features that were lacking. The TV guide was a list of channels but the list did not include names of shows being aired, times and any details so that one had to choose a channel to see what was being aired. There was no way to look at a schedule in case one wanted to see what was being aired at a later time. This was totally inadequate. Instead of a standard radio there was a bluetooth receiver that you paired with your phone. However, I couldn't get it to work without the engineer coming to my room and erasing the previous guest's pairing. Finally, bathroom was great but the rods that controlled the blinds were very awkwardly placed and out of reach. I actually had to step into the bathtub to reach one set of blinds that were fully open. This is not the level of convenience one gets from their 5 star competition.

My stay was INCREDIBLE! The service is phenomenal, Justin is a superstar, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The only reason I took off a star is because housekeeping kept moving my stuff (after telling them not to) - and I could not find it anymore. I actually left behind a few items in my room because I have no idea where housekeeping put it. But this one really hurt - they threw out the champagne cork my fiance and I popped our first night there, as he proposed to me that night. That cork was very sentimental to us, and after returning from our day excursion the next day, it was gone. One of the days, the housekeeping was perfect - for example: they found a sweater on the floor, they folded it, then put it back on the floor where they found it. That's perfect! But the first 2 days, all my stuff was constantly moved to other locations in the room, my fiance's stuff mixed with mine, we literally spent time looking for our belongings. It shouldn't be like that.

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had anywhere in the world. Executive room was modern and spacious. Staff were outstanding, and the location was ideal. Absolute best of all was the Langham Club. Service and atmosphere made the whole experience.

Don’t book here. They ruined a couple’s wedding night and had no reasonable explanation for it besides a scripted corporate response. My whole family will be writing a review to stay away from this place and we will warn anyone we can!

They ruined a wedding and threw the couple out onto the street at 3 AM!! This place is poorly managed. It is far from luxury. You can find a million better options in New York City.

Rooms were clean and well done, closet and bathrooms were outstanding. Service was good. 4 stars simply because we stayed at the langham in Boston and the service and rooms was just one step above. Still would recommend for anyone Traveling to the city. Edit:I stayed here again, while some of the amenities are not as great as Boston I was won over by the wonderful people working at the front door and decided to change my 4 star to a 5 star review.

We stayed here for a week and it was wonderful. The room upper level had the view of city (even in bathroom) which was gorgeous, the lower floor we stay with a huge space was okay but good to work during the day.

Right in the heart of midtown Manhattan is the beautiful modern Langham Hotel. Rooms are spacious and modern. I got upgraded to a deluxe room on the top floor. Staff is super friendly and everything is walking distance. Highly recommended.

The Langham was amazing. Dwayne and all of the crew were so kind and helpful. The room we stayed in was wonderful. So clean and when you leave they come and tidy up your stuff which is so sweet of them. My Favorite things about this place is the view, the rainfall shower, bathtub, bed, and the hot apple cider.
