This building houses organizations that promote Scandinavian culture. There is a library with books on all aspects of Scandinavia, an event space,a photo gallery and children's programming. There is also a restaurant and gift shop. If you are at all interested in the culture of this little known part of the world, a visit to the Scandinavia House is worth a trip .

It’s a tranquil dinner place to have some conversations with friends. We went for dinner at a busy Friday night and we never regretted. Good Swedish food (not unexpectedly amazing) but the vibe did make it even better.

Such an authentic Scandinavian vibe, feels like you're in Copenhagen. Delicious Scandinavian fare at their modern, natural Birch wood cafe. Stylish furniture and Marimekko napkins, beautiful cutlery, a real visual and culinary measure. Very friendly service, everyone willing to explain the novel cuisine. Our brunch smorgasbord plates had a bit of all the favorites: herring, new potatoes, smoked salmon, crackers, cheese, pickles. Very yummy, nice desserts, well priced. Great gift shops.

As a disgruntled New Yorker eager to leave this wretched city, its places like these that bring back that nostalgic love for a city I once truly adored like nothing else on earth. Which other city (outside of Scandinavia) would have entire center devoted to Scandinavian cuisine, art, history, film and culture?? They feature films, book-readings, events all connected to Scandinavia. The space is beautiful and the service was excellent and welcoming. The little shop is so cute and reminded me of the beautiful time I spent in Norway 5 years ago. This is what New York is about! Incorporating so many different cultures and people into one city so that we all belong here as one. We are the city of the world 🌎 💜

The Scandinavia House promotes Nordic/ Scandinavian culture & vibes... with a library, gallery, events space, special programs for children, a gift shop and the Björk Café & Bistro serving some typical Nordic specialties, drinks & pastries. 👍 😊👍

Quiet, good food, and there's a tree inside. I got the prix fixe dinner and liked all parts of it. Some friends got signature drinks and raved about them as well.

A favorite place to go for Nordic inspired culture (e.g., films, concerts, exhibitions, language study, readings, interviews). High quality throughout. Note the cafe is currently closed and will open under new management. Check website for more info.

Helpful, friendly place where you can pick up some Scandinavian treats and indulge in regional art. When I lived in Minneapolis I regularly frequented the American Swedish Institute there, this is nowhere near as large or well equipped as that institute. Give the Park Avenue address and the compact space, it is extremely good. Unfortunately on my visit, the Bjork cafe was closed.

Welcoming peaceful cultural center, even in its off season where not much is going on. The gift shop is a little pricey so come prepared to pay a fair price for good quality items you cannot find elsewhere.

If you're looking for a taste of Scandinavia come to place. The American Scandinavian Foundation gives all taste of all the Nordic countries. They a have a gallery upstairs, a restaurant, souvenir shops straight from Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden. Its a few blocks from Grand Central in case you want to explore midtown via Park Avenue.

Really cool little exhibition of Scandinavia tucked away in an unassuming storefront. You could easily walk by without realizing what's inside. Once you step in, you're greeted with an amazing typical Scandinavian architecture that's unrivaled by any other public display in the city. With a restaurant and art gallery on site. Make sure you check the hours for the art gallery as it is different than the restaurant.

This place is absolutely stunning. Visually breathtaking. If you need to take new selfies, COME HERE. Flawless lighting. The workers are all super friendly, helpful, and welcoming as well. Also, if you take pictures from your first visit you can use that to get in for free next time!

Came here for an evening event in their space on the second floor. Service was great and they provide a lot of flexibility in terms of venue setup and decorations. Catering provided by the Scandinavian restaurant was simple but good.

Fantastic. The freshness is unmatched. Lovely food. Just a nice quiet and quaint place. Everything is 5 star here. The gentleman open sandwich was perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a palate for fine dining. Scandinavian food at its best.

I know everyone has their own taste, but honestly even having traveled to Sweden many times, I consider Scandinavia House's meatballs the most memorable. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
