I went to the garden for 25 minutes and it is so beautiful and they have vegetables to the side. The view is spectacular and they have a museum right their very convenient. The staff helped us out to open the gate to enter the garden.

The gardens here are tranquil and peaceful. Bring a book to read and enjoy the beautiful Magnolia tree.

Local and national history mixed in one beautiful 17th century home, a must for any local or visitor to the area. Their large exhibit changes every 4 months, and they always have some of their extensive collection of Thomas Nast on display. Staff is knowledgeable and kind, and their director very approachable. The 3 acre garden is beautiful all year round, and free every day of the week. Truly an underappreciated local slice of history.

The gardens are free and are accessible every day. Just go through the side gate. It’s a lovely peaceful place to read a book or bring your lunch. There are benches and a couple tables under the trees on the lawn, but I wish they had more, especially by the fountain. No restrooms outside. Street parking only. Usually easy to find a spot.

The curator and guide Cynthia, gave us an excellent tour of the mansion. She was knowledgeable, thorough and very kind to us and our 3 year old. The basement kitchen is a must see. If you enjoy a tour of old mansion from 1800s this is a must see museum. And the garden was beautiful.

Amazing historical house museum with many interesting artifacts showing the stories of the generations of people who lived there. The curator was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the tour; no matter what questions we asked he always had an answer. The Thomas Nast collection on display was wonderful. Do be aware that they rotate the smaller drawings on display, since they do not have room to display all of the collection all the time, but it is still very interesting. There are other art pieces and artifacts in the Macculloch part of the museum that are connected to the Maccullochs themselves, including historical furniture and various decorative objects and utensils. The museum gives guided tours and has touchable artifacts and textured art for the visually impaired or for anyone who wants to touch a piece of history. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and a very restful place to explore.

Must call in advance to get inside & tour. Back gardens are open during the day. I'm sure it's even more gorgeous in summer.

Wonderful destination for a class outing! Cynthia, the curator of Education and Community Engagement gave us a tour of the magnificent gardens and then delivered the fascinating history of the family, the mansion and the estate. She then engaged the students in a creative art project and invited us to stay and enjoy the grounds. Next visit, we will certainly plan a picnic lunch. Many thanks, Cynthia

Not much to see as the upstairs and downstairs are now used for storage and offices which leads to just the entry level. Gardens were nice but not more than a 30 minute activity… was hoping to see more history.

Another day, another pop up museum. This time it's at the Beverly center. A place I haven't been in years. I was hesitant at first to go because for the most part I think anything over 20 for a small pop up it's pretty expensive, especially since it's timed. But this time around I was lucky enough to win some tickets through yelp (thank you btw!!)

Very nice historical house from 1800s. They said they have gardens in the summer. Portraits, original furniture from the era, and books from the family. They have an exhibit of Thomas nash's work, he lived across the street. Nice place to visit if you enjoy history and old houses!
