The only place open after a snow storm. And what an amazing stop. The food was delicious and the drinks were yummy! The bartender was the sweetest. The selection they had for whiskey and bourbons were unreal. We had the tuna poke which was a very generous portion of tuna for around $20. And the shrimp and grits was also tasty for another $25. Can’t forget the appetizer Philly cheese egg rolls! And of course we had try the whistle boss.

Great wait staff and food. We had the Cajun shrimp and grits, meatloaf sandwich, and chicken Marsala. All was great and the food came out pretty fast. They have a great selection of craft brews on tap from around the area and a bit beyond. Check out the cool drawing out waiter did on the back of the check, sketched from my daughters book on our table!

Got a $20 salad to go (TWENTY DOLLARS?!). Walked in as soon as I got the text message it was ready. They put the hot chicken on top of the salad in the enclosed Togo container and everything got wilty and soggy. The apples were like warm soft noodles. They put the plastic togo dressing containers nestled in the salad, which is unsanitary. Was willing to overlook all of that, but then the greens had black slimy stuff all over them. This place used to be so good and high quality, and this was such a huge miss. Definitely won't be back, especially for how high the price was. Such a bummer and so gross they would serve old greens

Omg, loved it here...I went for brunch on a Sunday so it was chill and not overly crowded. Atmosphere and decor is really cool, our waitress was awesome, and the food and mimosas were very very delicious (even tho they forgot my bacon, lol).. Definitely worth a return visit!

I really wanted to love this place. The ambiance and selections seemed fabulous. Food, no. Brie bacon jam-very little Brie on the top, wasn’t a great balance of flavors Stuffed Chicken Marsala-I love seared foods, this was actually burnt, tasted like coal with a simple mushroom gravy, not Marsala Corn-loaded with sugar, too sweet to eat and tasted very unnatural Mashed potatoes good Nashville chicken-boring and no heat at all Pickles were fabulous Bloody Mary perfect Service good For the price, we should’ve walked away impressed.

I've been here before a few times and always came back for the food and service. Unfortunately, this time wasn't a good experience. I was seated and ordered a Pail of Ales flight and when Heather brought to my table, she asked if I was ready to order and I said that I'd like a few more minutes. That few minutes turned into 15 minutes until she returned. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was brought out by another server as he had noticed it had been sitting in the kitchen awhile. Which it had been as it was lukewarm at best. Undeterred, I was browsing their extensive bourbon menu for an after dinner drink when Heather dropped off my check without asking if I'd like anything else. Figuring I would get the same level of service if I asked for a drink, I paid my bill and had a seat at the bar. Unfortunately this same lack of customer service continued. I asked Ben for an old fashioned neat with Elijah Craig 18 yo ($30) which they didn't have, so I ordered a Jefferson's Ocean ($20) which he poured straight up. I reminded him that I had ordered an old fashioned, he promptly used another customer's old fashioned glass that he was making (with ice) and poured the Jeffersons over the ice. Again figuring things weren't going to get better if I asked for the drink the way I ordered it, I contented myself by enjoying the Jefferson's and watching Sunday night football. This is one of the few places that's open in Peoria on a Sunday night especially in the downtown area, so my choices were limited. My next trip to Peoria will probably see me going a across the river or driving to the west side in search of good food and good service.

Heard very good things about their fried chicken. But it was a disappointment. The chicken was drenched in some powdery spice mix, which was a tad bit bitter after a point. The chicken was cooked well. The tater tots were good. But the beer was very good. The decor of the place was excellent. The service was good.

Great food!! The decor is a little whimsical and unique, and the music way too loud, but the food is fabulous! I ordered the chicken Marsala. While I would maybe not classify it as tasting like any other Marsala I know, it is a fabulously flavorful mushroom gravy sauce over some tender, juicy, and perfectly done chicken. I tried my friend’s order of meatloaf too! Not like any meatloaf I’ve had, theirs has a delicious smokiness to it and a delightful texture. It wasn’t the warmest, but sometimes things like that happen. This place has got great flavor!

Great place and walking distance from several hotels. Got in and got seated right away. Much larger than appears. The server was great, we received great customer service. She was helpful in describing the menu. Food was excellent! Some was very unique but great! If you’re in town looking for a great place with a great atmosphere. Definitely come here.

This place was such a blast to visit. The employees were wearing Halloween costumes when we went. The whole bar was decorated and super fun, we sat at the bar and had excellent service. The tuna poke tacos, and meatloaf were excellent and I wish we were here longer because I'd love to try the whole menu. We came here for a datenight and it was perfect, it was casual and fun. Just what we were looking for. The prices were right, and they have a little bit of everything to make anyone happy.

We stopped into Thyme today after spending some time at the farmers market since they had a vegan option and everyone in our party could eat something that they enjoy. They were serving brunch but offered to let us order off of the regular menu. Two of us had the roasted celery root. It was delicious and hearty. So many unique flavors that worked really well together in one dish. The salmon burger was also ordered at our table. It was definitely fresh, made in house, and very tasty. Great food and a full bar! We’d go back.

Amazing place. Our burgers and charcuterie board were delicious. I especially enjoyed their whisk(e)y and beer menu. We went in the early afternoon for brunch, so it wasn't as crowded.

Lunch before flight out of Peoria, first visit. Unique setting and decor. The drink menu is extensive,we(4) each ordered a different cocktail, and all were well crafted. Our server was attentive. We ordered the fried cauliflower appetizer,it was well prepared, and the aoli was a perfect accompaniment, plenty for the 4 of us to share. We ordered the stuffed chicken marsala with mashed potatoes, a bison burger and fries, and deconstructed duck tamales ,were our main dishes ,all were delicious. Will definitely return the next time I'm in town, it's not to be missed!

Thyme Kitchen and Craft Beer is a neat place with a great atmosphere. The openness of the restaurant, decor, and cool vibe will get your attention from the minute you enter the door. We had a group of four enjoy brunch on a Sunday around noon. We enjoyed two orders of the brussel sprouts appetizers - this is a must try! The brussel sprout leaves are very light and flavorful - the balsamic glaze makes it delicious! I loved the lemon ricotta pancakes. There were two big pancakes with a blueberry reubarb compote - the flavors went well together. Two of us enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches - they looked good. One of us had a salad and soup which he liked a lot. The restaurant is very clean, the food is very flavorful and fresh, our waitress was very attentive, and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend trying this restaurant located downtown in the river district of Peoria. I believe our waitress's name was Hope and she did a great job. It was nice that we got seated without waiting. One thing that you will notice is the bar area with the extensive selection of bourbons. The walls are decorated with weathered barn wood, deer heads, and interesting wood and succulent plants. We are definitely going back for dinner and drinks one evening. We saw a few people sampling the beers and bloody marys - they all looked good. We were happy with the price point of the foods for the value - we all had plenty to eat with food to spare. The food had such great flavor - this place is a must - add it to your list!

I loved the menu and I really liked how they tried to do different things and be creative. It was really close to being amazing. The restaurant is really cool and I loved the decorations and feel of it. Our server was amazing. They have a lot of alcohol selections. The Nashville hot chicken was okay. The celery root was interesting but I really liked it. Our family really likes brussel sprouts and we got the appetizer. It was interesting as it was flakes instead of the whole sprout. But it was delicious. I would try this place again.

I immediately thought that this was gonna be a good time when there was a line at the door upon our arrival! The atmosphere was very enjoyable, the staff was very friendly and had us seated without a wait on a Friday!! The food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner. This was my second time here and I am more than pleased! I came back for the Bone Marrow and the delicious Bacon Jam but I’m staying for that Grilled Mac and Cheese!!! 🤤 Kelsey was our server and she was super awesome 😎 Will be back again soon!

Went here for brunch for the first time. Probably one of the best breakfast I've ever had in Peoria, the Ricotta Pancakes were incredible and my husband's Denver omelet was so fresh and served with ham sliced from the bone. We will be back

The food was good, but Geno made the night! We had a party of four and didn’t know we needed a reservation and he was able to squeeze us in. He gave great recommendations on drinks and food and had us laughing every time he stopped by. 5 star service. He even sketched my husband and me. Would love to return!

Was in town for a work trip and this was recommended by the very helpful front desk employee at the hotel where I was staying. Let me just say… she did well! Thyme was a great place for a late dinner; barkeep was helpful with food recommendation and beer menu. I really like their beer flight and pour options, everything from a flight/sample to a pint, and the appropriate glass for each style. I enjoyed the rustic yet modern sides, and the “lacquered” salmon was a bit salty but overall good, and cooked well. Overall a very enjoyable place.

  • 4/5 Jessica H. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely stellar food. I've been to Thyme twice and my orders both times were delicious. The rest of my group loved the food as well. They have a spicy ketchup, especially, that seems to be quite a hit with their tater tots! It's a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, but it tends to get fairly loud. So, it might not be the best place for an intimate get together. Would definitely come back again!

Would return here in a heartbeat. We were very impressed by our waiter... Just the right about if attentiveness... The menu was interesting and the food was excellent. Good mix of traditional and adventurous fare. Amazing and affordable craft beer options and if I was a whiskey fan I'd be in 7th heaven. A must visit if I Peoria.

I thought their seasonal drinks were ri I had the "present" from the ghosts of Christmas and it was really good. I had the salmon and the fish was really good but the slides were a little spicy for me. The waitress said she's never heard that before and full disclosure, I have a very sensitive spice tolerance. I really loved all the signs they had.

Went for a lunch meeting. The atmosphere was nice. It was interestingly decorated. The bar is set up nicely and visually interesting. Our server was kind and helpful. The food was alright. It was just very salty. I am unsure if it is a one-time thing. I got the deconstructed duck tamale.

The curtains don’t match the rug!!! I ordered the house bacon based on the pictures on yelp and feel like I got duped! It’s like looking at the menu at McDonalds and then actually getting the meal, it’s 2 completely different items. Maybe the original cook left? Or they are under new management or….? Either way the curtains don’t match the rug!!

Food was so delicious, got the Bacon Jam appetizer and Spicy Fried Chicken. Everything was so good. Beer selection was on point, got a flight of some local brews. The whiskey selection was amazing, although I didn’t have time to try them all 😉 Would definitely recommend for visitors and locals alike.

Away from home and was looking for something that reminded me of Chicago. This was a great fit. They have a great beer selection (I had 2 different flights) and their menu reminded me of what my chef husband would make for me. The bartender was even kind enough to find me an Apple charger and charge my phone for me as I’d forgotten mine and had 2% left in an unfamiliar area. Thank you!

The environment of the restaurant was right on. I was there with my sister and cousin to have drinks and food. We had 3 appetizers and they were not good. The corn fritter were good but greasy and was served with a jam of some sort. The country board was terrible a mix of assorted meats pickles and goat cheese pesto grain mustard and jam, the meat was thick greasy taste u couldn’t get off your tongue. The Cuban croquettes was like deep fried what looked like cat food. I didn’t Taste any potato kind some kinda bbq meat. Our waiter was great very personable liked him. Would definitely go back for drinks.

Stopped in for brunch on Sunday before leaving town. This gem was one of the few places open and was packed... so we knew that was a good sign. They had an very expansive beer, bourbon and drink menu and offered flights. So, had to try a few new selections. They also have their own barrel aged specials! Food menu had lots of traditional items. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and eggs + smoked Gouda grits and were not disappointed!

We really enjoyed our experience here. The menu looked interesting and the beer/bourbon selection was crazy! We ordered the bone-in pork chop, the tuna poke bowl (table favorite) and the lacquered salmon with balsamic brussel sprouts and lentils. So darned tasty!

  • 1/5 Seth S. 3 years ago on Google
Disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area, we went back for the first time over the weekend after not going out for a while due to covid. They took several of the featured items off the menu including pulled bacon and brisket sandwiches and also the burnt ends appetizer and I believe a few other things as well. Everything that I went there for is no longer available so there’s no reason for me to go back.

Had the double burger with fries and the maple chipotle dipping sauce. The burger was excellent. They put a seasoning on the fries. I enjoyed the taste, but it was on the edge of being too much. Ambiance and service were great. Price was roughly $35 for two people. That's without alcohol or appetizer, so expect more if that's your thing. This is my second time here and I've enjoyed myself on both occasions. A random side note, no free dessert if it's your birthday 😝.

I came today with two friends and had a very disappointing visit. From the moment that I walked in the door I realized that I was not being treated kindly. The host, which was an older Caucasian man, was very standoffish. We asked to be seated outside, and he acted as though that was weird for us to ask. When we ordered three margaritas, we asked for two of them to be made with a salt rim, and the other one to be made with sugar. 20 minutes later, the order was not correct. Not only did it take 20 minutes to make three margaritas but all three margaritas had a salt rim. I had mentioned this to the server and she said oh, that’s my bad. But she didn’t mention anything about fixing it. So I said, can we get another margarita for her with sugar? And she said oh yeah. Which again was, standoffish. We also noticed that one of the margaritas had a leaf in it, and not a mint leaf, which wouldn’t even go into a Margarita, but a brownish leaf from a tree. It was all the way at the bottom of the drink, so it didn’t fall from outside. So, we proceeded to exit without drinking the drinks that we not made correctly. At the end of the day, we are all regular customers, and we feel like we were discriminated against. I hope that no one else ever has to have this experience!

Thyme disappointed me tonight. The menu has changed a lot, and not for the better. I don't even know where to begin with this. So here we go. The appetizers. Bone marrow was excellent as usual, as was the bacon jam. The "Cuban Croquettes" tasted more like Ruben Croquettes, not bad, but not as described. The Nashville Spicy Chicken was ok. It was juicy, and that's where it ends. The pickles that came with it we're not good at all, they were almost medicinal. The Kale Slaw was absolutely disgusting. I tasted it and all I could think was "why?". Service was excellent, although our mains came to the table less than 5 minutes after our appetizers were put down, at a small 2 top table, it leaves little room to eat without juggling dishes. Thyme can do better.

Hands down best chicken I have EVER had in my life!!! Beer was outta this world amazing as well. The atmosphere of the place is rustic but chic, and the liqour wall is something to be seen in person!! Highly, highly recommend checking this place out, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Great food, we enjoyed the fried catfish which was cooked perfectly and the shrimp and grits which was rich and delicious and definitely a comfort food! Service was excellent they had a different N/A beer to try which is always nice.

The food is amazing! The craft beer selection (which is mostly local) is incredible! The ambience is very unique when compared to most of the other pubs in the area. Thyme definitely has a classy feel to it, but that does also mean that a trip here could get pricey quickly, but it's worth it! They also have easily 100+ different bourbons/whiskeys! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Go for the food or go for the drinks, either way you won't be disappointed! P.s. they have an Australian bar tender that works most days and he's the coolest guy ever! Very nice customer service throughout the entire staff!

Stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Our server was very nice and greeted us promptly. The food was excellent! We’d never been here or heard about it and man was it good! We went their on a Friday night and had an appetizer of Candied Bacon on Brussels Sprouts. Nice thick pieces of Bacon that were seasoned to perfection,. Then I had the Prime Rib Sandwich with a side salad. The Prime Rib was warm and tasty with the horseradish sauce as the perfect compliment to the bun and meat. The side salad was mixed greens with a Garlic dressing. The salad was nice sized and tasty.

They were so good, we had to get more to go!!! Service was decent for as busy as they were. Servers could be a little better at multitasking and quicker at bringing checks at the end of the meal. Will definitely return next time we’re in the area!!
