What is a Boston, New England ice cream shoppe ice 🍨🍦🍨🍦 doing in Peoria!? Who cares, the ice cream is awesome. Check out their rotating flavors. I got bananas foster 🍌🍌🍌 and blueberry crumble 🫐🫐🫐. It was a delicious 🤤 choice. You can also sample the flavors to see if you like them before you order.

Review Date: August 14th, 2013 Emack is whack! When I say ‘whack’, I mean the aesthetics of the place was out there. I felt like I was in some kind of hippy store with all the early 60’s to late 70’s stuff going on. Not only that, but it had a very Ben & Jerry’s ice cream vibe about the place. On this particular day, we had just partook in the 2013 Taste of Peoria and needed something to wash down all the yummy food we had throughout the evening. Matt and Laura suggested we hit up Emack and Bolio’s for some ice cream. I said, “E-heck and what?” It turned out, there was a riverfront ice cream place in the area. As this was the beginning of my travels, I was still new to a lot of the things around me. Without hesitation, we walked the short distance to Emack and Bolio’s for what I was hoping was a good time. We got there and must’ve just missed a crowd from the Taste of Peoria as there was signs of busyness and a lot of people milling about. We headed in and the sights inside were something else. Have you ever been to a diner and saw Elvis memorabilia everywhere? This place was like that but with bands like Beatles and Led Zeppelin. As a music lover, I had a hard time splitting my attention on what I wanted to order and seeing all the cool decorations throughout the place. Eventually I was able to rope in my short attention span and ordered some ice cream. I don’t remember what I ordered but I was a bit surprised by the slightly high prices. But with those higher prices came quality. This was some pretty good stuff. Granted, I don’t remember what I ordered but I do remember thinking it was just the thing we all needed after spending time trying out various food vendors. Now, I didn’t know there was not one but TWO Emack and Bolio’s in Peoria. Mind blown! I have been to the one in Peoria Heights a few times but at the time of my visits, I didn’t consider the other locations for a place needed for my travels. It felt like double-dipping. As time passed, I warmed up to the idea of trying all locations as each place can offer a unique experience. So, when I get to go back to the second location, I will do a post for it. I guess what I am trying to say is that Emack and Bolio’s is one groovy place. Pretty good ice cream that is a bit pricier than normal but worth the extra cost.

Our experience was great. Me and my husband were walking around and saw the ice cream shop and they were open so we decided to go in. The employee was very welcoming and polite. We were both having a hard time deciding on which flavor ice cream we should try. So the employee had us try all of the ones we were wondering about. Then I decided on black raspberry chip and my husband got grasshopper pie. We found out my sundae had the last of my flavor for the whole season and our sundaes had hot fudge and whipped cream they were amazing. We had a wonderful time and we can't wait to go back and try something new

It's a very nice and interesting little place. We were there on Mother's Day afternoon with the kids. There's a couple tables inside but a really nice patio outside. Plenty of parking. I would imagine when there's an event down by the river front it might be crowded. You can see the river from the patio. It's a very short walk to the edge of the river. Which is nice because you can walk up-and-down there. And the most important part is the ice cream is very good.

Love this place! Tucked away in the oldest riverfront building in Peoria, they serve great ice cream with a great attitude. Good place to get a scoop before some of the summer Riverside concert series.

Absolutely delicious ice cream. Very small ice cream shop with tons of delicious flavors. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ice cream. Black chip rasberry (low fat) is our pick. Location makes it a chill out point right next to the river front. Facility has a restroom in the store.

A wonderful place to get ice cream on a summer evening downtown Peoria. A walk by the river and good ice cream is a perfect combination

First time stopping in ice cream was very good and well priced. The girl working was alone and did a good job for how busy it was.

Our family loves coming to the riverfront for the farmer's market, festivals and of course Emack's. Try one of the unique flavors and then walk the bike path.

Fantastic ice cream - best in town - but you never know when they're going to be open, certainly not what Google says! Very frustrating to go there with your tastebuds all set for something great when they're supposed to be open and they're not. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure before driving there. Same with the Peoria Heights, IL store.
