Wow. What an incredible museum. It's absolutely worth the money. I highly recommend. It is filled with massive planes in two separate hangars. Some you climb up to and a cockpit you can sit in. There is a small Cafe. The bathrooms are massive with tons of stalls, very cleaning, and also have a changing table. I also want to note that the toliets do not automatically flush (noise sensitive kid and public bathrooms can be a challenge) so it's always nice to know it won't be a stressful restroom break. The kids areas are huge with educational aspects with tons of fun. You could spend hours here, an entire afternoon really. My kid didn't want to leave. For the adults: tons of information to read and learn. I am very impressed with the information and quality of the items in the museum.

“Jaw Dropping” is the best way to describe this place. If you are into aviation or military history at all, you will LOVE this place. As we pulled in and saw the Titan Missile sitting out in front of the large domes roof, I knew I was going to be in for a good time. I was lucky enough to go to an event there for a convention I was in town for. And we got to have dinner surrounded by WW2 aviation history. Everywhere you turn is another wonder to look & interact. They have space capsules, helicopters, fighter, jets, bombers, simulators, a theater, games, and WAY more stuff. Just look at the photo journal I am about to post up.

I recently did a guided tour at the SAC museum on Sunday, November 29th. We were guided by Jim, whom was an extremely knowledgeable and thorough guide. Highly recommended to come during the weekends when there's a guided tour available. Lots of rare aircraft and memorabilia that you won't be able to see anywhere else!

Hidden gem! Anyone that remotely has interest in aircraft should come visit and take a look. The collection is quite stunning and well maintained. Aircraft mostly ranges from WWII to Vietnam era, with a couple of unique guys such as the SR-71 and F-117 (sadly in restoration at time of review). However, the exhibits featuring the workhorses of the older era (B-25, B-29, B-52, F-4 among others) are fantastic.

Always nice to go in. We never had a busy time when we have gone. They re did the kids area. My kids liked it better before and not the new one. The downstairs bathroom is awesome. And they have a nice food area. The planes are always awesome to look inside and around.

✈️ 🚁🛩️🚀🛸🛰️The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum in Nebraska is a captivating destination for history and aviation enthusiasts alike. This museum offers a remarkable journey through the evolution of air power and space exploration. The extensive collection of aircraft and aerospace artifacts is truly impressive. From iconic bombers like the B-29 Superfortress and B-52 Stratofortress to the awe-inspiring space shuttle Endeavour, the museum provides a comprehensive look at the history of flight. The meticulous restoration and preservation efforts are evident in the pristine condition of these aircraft. The museum's exhibits and displays are informative and engaging, making it an excellent educational experience for all ages. Visitors can learn about the role of the Strategic Air Command during the Cold War, the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the advancements in space exploration. One of the highlights is the outdoor aircraft display, featuring various planes and helicopters. It's a treat to get up close and personal with these incredible machines and learn about their significance in military history. The museum staff is knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter, readily answering questions and providing additional insights. In summary, the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum is a must-visit for anyone with an interest in aviation and military history. It offers a well-rounded experience that's both educational and inspiring, and it's a testament to the achievements of the aerospace industry.😊highly recommend.

It’s a great museum right on the interstate I-80 at Ashland, between Omaha and Lincoln. Across interstate from the Wildlife Safari. We visited many times, last time, for an annual car show in June. This year, not many cars. There are always many WW2 planes and historic exhibits. Very humbling and educational experience every time we visit.🇺🇸

The Aerospace Museum is such a great place to visit. Some of the displays have changed since I was last here a few years ago. There is so much history that goes along with these exhibits and displays, be sure to spend the time to read them. There are some interactive displays for kids, they are full of some fun and basic information in science and engineering. The staff was friendly and they do offer a guided tour that does cost a little extra. My thee boys enjoyed The SACM and want to go back. There is a nice tribute to the victims of 9/11 that you need to go see. As fun as it was, it may be a bit pricey. We still might come back in a few years.

I decided to visit the SAC Museum since I hadn’t been there in many years. I certainly underestimated the size and variety of exhibits/areas that were available for viewing. There are two hangars containing an abundance of aircrafts, some of which can be viewed up close. In addition, there are areas dedicated to the Holocaust, space exploration, and an activity center for children. Overall, the SAC Museum is a large facility that contains a wealth of knowledge surrounding military aircrafts, while adding value in many other areas too.

A really nice museum. There are over 50 planes spread across two hangers plus a lot of other displays. The planes are all fully restored and there are some very rare planes that you would be hard pressed to see elsewhere. The films on SAC are rather dated. I LOVED the way the SR-71 is displayed in the entrance way. It looks like it coming for you. My complaints: It should be possible to see into more of the planes. Too many can just be seen from the floor. It's hard to find the names / info for so many of the planes and two of the displays outside are not labeled at all. Also, I was shocked at the price of admission.

I've been to a number of aviation museums and none have been anywhere near as expansive as this one. (I'm sure the Smithsonian has them beat but I haven't made it there yet!) This place even has some of my more obscure favorites! I'll definitely be back here to see some of the aircraft under restoration when they're ready for display.

So many cool aircraft and missiles on display. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you are interested in the history of airplanes or space or even nuclear missiles. This place set out with the goal of preserving aircraft and their stories and they have done a fantastic job.

Cool place. Lot's of history there. Kids (young) didn't appreciate it nearly as much as I'd hoped, but there's quite a few things designed for kids that are under the age of 10 that were very fun for them. One thing to note, don't be confused and think that a cafe is some type of restaurant. It's legitimately gas station food.

I love airplanes and always love visiting the SAC museum. There is different learning areas to explore, they have lifelike cockpits you can actually sit in, and an interactive flight simulator that can go from mild to actually flying a plane with barrel rolls and all.

Fascinating collection of military planes and aerospace exhibits.

  • 5/5 Star W. 3 years ago on Google
A great place to learn about aerospace history and a lot of fun too. Surprised they put it in the middle of nowhere but it was worth the drive.

  • 4/5 Viper 3 years ago on Google
Lots of cool old aircraft to look at. Didn't think it was too expensive at $13 a person. Would have liked to see more interactive exhibits or to see inside the planes. But it is cool to go around and see the history in this place. The simulator costs extra and you have to buy the ticket at the front desk when you go in. I didn't get to try it out but it did look pretty cool. Overall it's a good place to see some history but I wouldn't return over and over again.

This museum has a lot of history and learning about the world. This visit, the power was out and the kids exploration/science area was under construction. The best part (this trip) was the car show- the boys loved it! Look forward to going again when the power is back and more things are open ☺️

This place is the real deal. Coolest museum I've ever been too. If you're a fan of aviation this is absolutely worth a 2 hour stop if you're passing on I80. They have a real SR71 in the "lobby" and all sorts of other cool birds in the hangars. A B52, B36, B29, B17, B24, B25, F4, F86, F111, Mig21, U2, F117, Avro Vulcan, B1A, etc. Tons of info to read. You can walk around and under the planes and touch them. You can go inside a B29 bomb bay, inside a B52 cockpit. The bathrooms are even cool. There is a cafe that isnt overpriced like most museum food. Only downside is the merchandise shop is a bit bare. Admission is $16 for an adult.

New to the area and looking for new places to check out, this place was on our list and we are happy we visited! The size of this place is incredible, and the planes are awe-inspiring. It's obvious a lot of people put a lot of time and energy into this place and all ofnits exhibits. It's definitely worth a stop!

  • 3/5 Kyle Beswick (. 6 months ago on Google
Pretty interesting but starting to feel a little dated and lots of exhibits are broken or missing parts or signage. Best part is the traveling exhibit from Boeing which was awesome. Also, kudos to having the absolute coolest bathrooms I've ever seen (yes really)

We had a wonderful time! My 8 & 9 year old were in awe of all the planes. They lived designing a plane and flying it on the simulator. What really made our time is a volunteer named Rick! He showed us around and answered all of our questions! We are so grateful to stumble across this museum on our cross country adventure!

  • 5/5 Cynthia P. 1 year ago on Google
We have been to several air and space museums and wondered if this would be worth the stop. It absolutely was and we consider it a must see. The museum is nicely done and the planes are impressive. Even the bathrooms are themed. Well worth going out of your way to see.

Wonderful aircraft display. Great history to read in stories. A very fun afternoon spent. So glad we went. My family loves airplanes and history. Keep up the great work museum!

  • 5/5 Jaita G. 11 months ago on Google
We went there on father's day & along with the magnificent cold war era aircraft we also got a closer look at the vintage cars that were showcased for the onlookers as a father's day special display. It was enthralling. Getting to see all the aircraft from so close is a rich experience to have & all the way more interesting when you read their history. Each aircraft has their interesting past and makes for a fascinating history. It is a must visit place.

Way cool museum to visit while traversing Interstate 80! Was amazed at the variety of planes on display: everything from SR71, U2, F117, all sorts of bombers, helicopters and spacecraft! Large parking lot so I was able to park my truck and trailer, mosy through the museum for the afternoon and truck on down the road. Even the bathrooms were decorated and an adventure!

This was a highlight of my year. Visiting Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum was just something that was extremely high on my list of places to visit. SAC really doesn't exist anymore, but for many years along with TAC (Tactical Air Command) and MAC (Military Airlift Command), were the three parts that made up the US Air Force. SAC was headquartered not far from the museum at Offutt Air Force Base. It's nice to have the SAC museum to look back and learn about the past in a nice museum. The museum has two levels. You enter from the upper level, then make your way to the lower level once inside. The museum is mostly broke up into a main section that's flanked by two hangers that house most of the exhibits. There are rest rooms on both levels. There is also a small restaurant on the lower level. The prices looked reasonable. But we didn't eat at the museum. So I don't know how good the food actually is. Besides, tastes differ. Outside the museum has some things like a B1 bomber and some other missiles and such. Parking is free, but there is an entrance fee. I think it was $16 per adult. I also think there was a military discount. I don't recall the price for children. Anyway, I cannot say enough how much folks who like military things will like SAC. Folks who like history and museums probably would like SAC for the same reason. So if you're in the area. Maybe visit the SAC museum. More than likely, you might like it. You may even love it.

We're on a roadtrip and were only able to stop by the outside after hours but even just the front was incredible!! Rockets, planes and tons of history to take your breath away and it was barely a glimpse- I'm sure the inside is stunning. Hopefully we'll be back this way during normal hours but if there's a chance, get there as soon as you can!!

Great place to take kids! My 4 year old and 18 month old loved it. You are able to walk around the outside of all the aircrafts and there are plenty of exhibits for the kids to interact with, giving parents time to read about all the great information they have.

  • 5/5 Eric B. 3 years ago on Google
A great learning experience on a large scale. I have grown up going to this museum and it has always been one of my favorites. There is so much to say about it. For such a large museum there are surprisingly few displays until the scale of each item is taken into account. Seeing the history of Strategic Air Command planes is neat. The smell walking through the museum of the old oil and paint drives home how these planes were used. The educational pieces that rotate for boistering the STEM field are appreciated and fun. Lastly it's a great place to go and walk around when the weather outside is less than ideal.

Great Museum, we went during the car show recently which was really a nice surprise. Really enjoyed the SR-71 which I had never really seen and was amazed at how big it really was!!. Didn't get much from the snack bar other than a couple of drinks, but service was very good and friendly. Will return if I am in the area again. Only criticism would be some of the children's activities didn't seem to work or maybe need some updating, but really the kids should really be looking and touching the planes
