This really used to be my favorite place to be period. I have been a member of this why for over 6 years. In that time I've seen this YMCA grow and get all sorts of new features and rooms and amenities. The issue I have is the main reason for us to joining was men's basketball on Sunday mornings. They then created an additional gym which was supposed to be the family gym which worked perfectly for all of the men who would bring their children to basketball on Sunday mornings which was the busiest the Y was all week. But they have continued to put exercise classes in a basketball gym instead of using the rooms that they have upstairs dedicated for exercise classes. The fact that I have brought this up on numerous occasions to all staff as well as the director for it to have gone unaddressed for 2 to 3 years is extremely frustrating. My membership cost doesn't change it only goes up but the few things that I've asked for have not been addressed. I feel like they're focused more on the money than the family aspect of the YMCA which is frustrating. While I completely understand the size of the class you speak of (I'm more than aware) why not displace the other workout areas instead of the only other place in the YMCA with basketball hoops. Or, again as has been brought up multiple times, schedule the class before or after men's basketball. The room adjacent to the family gym is often empty during this same time as well and has AMPLE space. You could simply move the class there. There's many solutions if you actually look for one. It's been years and still no change here. Still

First off the staff here are absolutely incredible. They go well out of their way to serve you and make you feel at home and give you everything you want and need. Shout out to the amazing staff here! Secondly the facilities are top-notch very clean and well taken care of. There is a huge variety of things to do anything you could really want. Also my kids absolutely love spending time in child watch. They have different environments for different ages and will watch your kids for two hours every time you come and check in. I can’t speak highly enough of this place!

Even when it looks packed by the number of cars in the lot there is always plenty of equipment, free weights and universals. The place is always clean and the coffee pot full.

Nice large Y with multiple gyms for all types of activities with indoor track. Gets really busy at certain times but has loads of cardio equipment to share.

My home away from home! Great staff!! From Mike to Helen and Margaret, culture is exceptional. Bike instructors Lisa and Amy as well as Mindy (sub?!) provide clear guidance and enthusiastic support on a consistent basis. Fitness Instructors always ready to assist with a variety of issues. So grateful to this Penfield YMCA. We are truly fortunate!! So important for those of us here during our long cold winters to stay active; having a welcoming and clean atmosphere has made all the difference. We are truly blessed.

This is the cleanist, friendliest Y. that I have personally experienced. The pool is always sparkling and the locker room ( women’s ) is spotless always !! The equipment is always in tip top working conditions. The complimentary coffee is delicious and appreciated. The staff is warm and welcoming and always available to assist . I am enjoying the Peloton bikes and complimentary classes offered. The only change I would make would be an update of the E 8000 zero runner . The Eastside Penfield Y is my Y……..

Just returning to the y. Eastside is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. Only thing I thought the pool stayed open until 9 like the rest of the y. Fyi it closes at 8...also closed for camp 10-3 in the summer. Starting to get busier. Lots of swim lessons.

I now know why i dont do the ymca. They would not let me go in the pool area/ building with my girls. Only my mother in law and the girls because they are members. The member director was rude and told me that there is no visitor policy ( which there use to be one) treated me as someone who was above her and pushed a membership on me. But if we pay for a swim lesson then I can go into the building/pool area. She tried showing me the junior member policy but didn’t point out that I had to be members until i said something about being their parent. What a good christian company I will NEVER join the YMCA!

My one year old was assaulted at this location's child watch. I was never alerted thay she was injured, she was left with multiple open bite wounds, her wounds were never cleaned or tended to, and I had to witness her getting bit when I picked her up. The woman that was supposed to be watching them was still employed last time I checked. The chain of command hasn't done anything yet, despite me and my family informing them what happened and about my daughters medical visits.
