I was riding home the other day and pulled into the Top Pub in Uralla for a counter meal. Wow I’ve eaten in restaurants all over the world and this pub food is fantastic. I’m that impressed I’m taking a few friends back there for a sleepover just to try more food. The restaurant and bar have a lovely atmosphere and the outdoor dining experience was beautiful and the staff couldn’t be more friendly. When you’re leaving try one of the world famous home made pies straight across the road. It’s also a short ride to the Ebor falls.

Best pub ever! This pub not only looks fantastic (in & out) but also has amazing food (pub food & some fancy dishes), a huge wine selection & good service too! Wish we knew we could stay here! Next time!

Excellent service and quality food! Passed by for lunch and had a lamb back strap that was perfectly cooked, super tender and well presented. Tho the lamb was bit pricey $40 for pub lunch but worth a try! The chicken palmy was so crunchy and moist, perfect to go with local beer.

Dined for dinner. I had 3 crumbed lamb cutlets with mash & veges. It was very tasty. The menu had lots of great sounding food, seems like a pub that likes to serve more upmarket/gastro pub type food. Service friendly. Large place with tables inside & outside. Would definitely return if I was ever visiting the area again.

Dropped in here for lunch on a drive from Newcastle to Tenterfield. This is not your average pub This place serves restaurant quality food. The Lamb back stap was sensational and perfectly cooked to my requirements There is a good range on the menu from standard pub fare through to restaurant style dishes and some fabulous daily specials. Well worth a visit and this is also a destination dining experience

It's a lovely space in the dining area and we really enjoyed our meals. I would recommend stopping in here when visiting Uralla. They have alot of Gluten Free options too, and this was a nice surprise for a family member dining with us.

Great pub in town. Very popular on the weekends. It pays to book. The food was great however the service could improve, some servers were abrupt perhaps because it was so busy. Also the dining areas are too dark at the back if your dining at night - needs better lighting.

Stopped in on the way back from Tamworth. My wife and my self ordered bangers and mash and soft shell crab thai style burger. What can I say except BLOODY DELICIOUS. Worth the wait and will definitely recommend the food. Compliments to the Chef👍👍👍👍👍

Stopped over for dinner, busy little pub the only place to grab a meal and it was packed, it seemed everyone from town was in and it was a good feeling All the customers were nice and friendly, family primates pub We couldn’t get a table inside and it was just a little cold outside so we decided to grab takeaway and eat back were we were staying. Easy to order from the menu We got 2 kids hotdog meals and a parmigiana, so we waited around for our order. Not after I saw other tables getting their food first after ordering after us I had to go and ask for an update. 30 minutes and we headed off. Just your average pub meals, kids just happy with their ice cream as part of the kids meal. Good place to go and have a drink and meal and see everyone in town

Pros: - Nice atmosphere - Clean toilets - Nice menu items Cons: - Clueless wait staff - Slow service of food - Poor service of drinks requested - Food was luke warm at best - $13.50 for a jug of Coles branded lemonade This pub was highly recommended to us by the Info Centre in Armidale as we head towards Tamworth. We arrived 1.15pm and ordered shortly thereafter. It was 1.50pm when the kids meals arrived. Thinking ours were following shortly, we had to wait until 2pm for ours and only got them when my husband chased down a wait staff and asked where our meals were! The pub wasn't at all busy - a few tables with patrons but more empty tables than not. We ordered two kids meals - both were chicken strips. Us adults ordered the steak ciabatta. When they arrived, the chicken for the kids was luke warm at best, the steak in our ciabatta was cold. The ciabatta was literally just half of a ciabatta roll to make an open sandwich. Why they couldn't include the other half of the ciabatta roll I have no idea! With the kids meals, a poppa and ice cream is included. We asked three times for the poppa while we waited for our meals. The wait staff member we spoke to was completely clueless that the kids meals included a poppa and ice cream. After the third time, they finally arrived... but after the food arrived! Then the ice cream. They were sludgy as had been kept in the fridge. My husband at this point was annoyed. He went to the bar and spoke to Daniel who seemed like he didn't care and passed us onto a kitchen staff member. It was confirmed that the ice cream had been kept in the fridge next to the poppas in the bar area. Seriously... why keep a frozen item in the fridge?! New ice cream was retrieved from the kitchen and these were frozen thank goodness. Finally, let me tell you about the jug of lemonade my husband ordered. It cost $13.50 for this. The guy behind the bar grabbed a 1.25L bottle of Coles branded lemonade (valued at $1.10) and poured it into the jug right right in front of my husband. OMG! Not even Sprite! We had the SAME Coles branded lemonade in the car that we could've brought in! At least it was cold from the fridge. Husband was gobsmacked... when he paid for the jug separately from the food, we were charged credit card surcharge on top! This is completely unbelievable. Come here again? We are not locals and were travelling through. Honestly, the other cafes in town are likely to be better than here. If we stop in Uralla again, we will go there and not to this pub!

A great place to go for a meal, a wonderful menu including a wide variety of gluten free & vegetarian options. Indoor & outdoor seating & in winter a beautiful warm open fireplace. Friendly staff, delicious food & lovely atmosphere.

Had the Lamb Cutlets and they were delicious. 3 juicy large cutlets on a bed of mash with gravy and vegetables. Very filling. Place was busy on a Saturday night so suggest you book. Choices of indoor or outdoor dining. Will definitely be back.

We have visited the Top Pub for dinner a few times now and the food has always been excellent. Last night, however they outdid themselves. My partner had the African spiced lamb backstrap and stated it was excellent. I had the Surf and Turf and can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever had. We will be making the Top Pub one of our regular venues for a dinner out. Just make sure you book if you plan on eating there as it is immensely popular, with good reason.

Nice meals and honest service. Asked for additional Parmesan for my Carbonara to give it a bit more flavour. Received a butter dish, tiny, for an additional charge of $2 that went on the credit card. My wife and I are still laughing at the experience.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Awesome mulled wine. They definitely did not use the cheapest red they could find, and the spice blend was perfect. The bistro meals were better than some hatted big city restaurants I have been to. We had the "house specialities". The back strap and pork chop. Both cooked to perfection. The dessert selection was decadent, rolled pav's, Broulee, and locally made Petit Fours. Love this pub and food. Well done, team. Sorry, no lamb photo. The smell and presentation were devine. We tucked into it and realised we should have taken a photo.
