    I reached out to Luke about six months ago because I wanted to take more control of my health & fitness. Above all, I wanted to maintain a healthy weight & build muscle. I’d seen success in the past, but hadn’t maintained my progress. As a result, my confidence had taken a hit. I also knew I struggled with consistency, this was something I found frustrating & wanted to change. I chose GymHippie because of their experience. The journey so far has inspiring. I’ve learned an awful lot about myself and my relationship with both food & fitness. I feel like this improved self-awareness will be the foundations of my future success - and prevent me making the same mistakes I’ve made in the past! Alongside this Mindset “gains”, I’ve also developed a solid base of knowledge when it comes to strength training. My prior knowledge was a little “Swiss cheese-y” (containing a few holes!); however, I now feel well equipped to tackle the weights room safely & effectively. I certainly feel stronger and more empowered as a result. I’ve appreciated Luke’s compassion, understanding & empathy throughout the journey. I thought I just needed a trainer, but I’ve really benefitted from a holistic & personal-development driven approach. The accountability has also been invaluable! I’m really pleased I made the investment, and I’m excited to start a new (more sustainable) chapter in my health & fitness journey.     I’d recommend gym hippie to anyone looking for a change in their life whether you’re just starting your health& fitness journey or have been into it for a while. Personally, I found myself stuck and needed the guidance and someone to push me in the right direction. I’d say I came into it with quite a lot of knowledge / experience, however what I was lacking was self believe and strength to pick myself up after I fall. I wanted to break the vicious cycle of being 100% in or 100% out and have someone to help me find the healthy balance. Gym hippie is all about sustainable changes and sustainability is one thing my approach was not giving me in a past. I started working with Ben just under 6 months ago and I can honestly say it was the best decision I could have made. Since then I went through a complete transformation- both physical and mental. I have the healthiest relationship with food I have ever had and I no longer make my self feel guilty about things, which also helped me get rid of old toxic habits and binge eating episodes. Working out has never been an issue for me - I have always enjoyed it, however, since working with Ben the quality of my workouts is 10x better and it shows. I also have way more confidence going into the gym and am no longer anxious about being there on my own. My sessions with Ben are always fun and full of laughing but despite that I always push myself to the absolute limit and give 110% (Ben wouldn’t let me give any less than that 😂). After each session I always leave the gym with a big smile on my face and feeling proud of my achievements which is something I’d be ashamed to admit even to my own self in a past. Overall, what I love about gym hippie the most is the holistic approach and learning how to create sustainable change rather than just quick solutions. You get all the tools you need that suit your own needs and lifestyle - whether you’re a control freak like myself or a spontaneous person who doesn’t like to track every little thing. I’ve been on the health & fitness journey for about 10 years now but I feel like it only really started 6 months ago. 100000% recommend ❤️

    I have been training with Ben for just under six months so far and within those six months Ben has helped my confidence in the gym whilst developing my knowledge and understanding of executing exercises correctly and making adjustments to adapt exercises to work with my body. From the initial phone call, I knew Ben’s commitment, passion and extensive knowledge was perfect to help me achieve my fitness goals. My PT sessions with Ben are productive, fun and informative - Ben makes the gym environment a lot less scary and without his brilliant support I wouldn’t have the confidence I have today, Ben is worth his weight in gold. Highly recommend.

    Couldn't be happier with my gymhippie journey. Luke's process is thorough and absolutely holistic - a full mind/body/soul workout and learning curve. With what seems an endless supply of knowledge and empathy to guide me through, I really feel empowered to keep pushing towards my goals. I've come from being too afraid to even step into the gym to feeling that this is a space where I actually do belong. With Luke's support and focus to achieve lifestyle and perspective shifts such as this, I know ultimately I'll be able to keep the progress going for myself.     I needed a change and training with Luke was the best decision that I have made. I was tired of carrying extra weight and without confidence, and started to develop health issues. I needed the expertise of a trainor to help me become a better version of myself and Luke was the answer. During the training proces that exceeded eight months, I lost fat weight, worked on building and maintaining muscles and strength and most importantly I feel alive, confident and stronger. Luke has the patient and experience that continues to help me while we train. And I enjoy the training exercises that he choose for me. For the first time in my life, I actually enjoy training. I love that this is not a quick fix because I have tried it and became disappointed as the weight came back as quickly as I lost. It's building habits that are sustainable. The way that I look on the outside has significantly changed and I will never be tired of hearing others compliment my new look. I dropped several dressing sizes, and I owe it all to Luke and trusting a process that takes time but in the end is sustainable. My relationship with food is better, and I have a good understanding of my eating habits and how to train. The best part is that I did not eliminate the foods I love or my beloved coffee, but I learned to make small, sustainable and mindful changes. I will always be grateful to Luke and highly recomend him for anyone who wants a real change where you can still enjoy life while getting to the body and health goals desired.

    I was not someone one who had ever really thought about fitness or the gym, that was for other people. I was more concerned with mindlessly eating my way through life. I was very overweight, wasn’t happy, and I didn’t really know what to do about it. After a chance encounter online, I stalked Luke’s Instagram page for about a year. I started thinking that it was maybe time to try something different. After a thorough initial consultation, it was time to take the plunge and step foot in the gym for the first time in my life. Thank’s to Luke’s preparation, I wasn’t nervous - just keen to get started. Having said that, most of the progress I have made has been outside of the gym - the gym has been a fun treat every week. With Luke’s guidance and support, I have built a collection of new habits and routines which are all more supportive of my fat loss goals than my previous life. Individually they are all small manageable changes that build on top of each other, and have allowed me to shed 37kg in 51 weeks without ever feeling like it was a chore… in fact it sometimes feels like I am cheating! It’s a flexible approach that allows me to indulge when I feel l like it’s worth it - all because I am consistent the other 90%+ of the time. Investing in myself with Luke has been well worth the time and money, I only wish I had started sooner. It’s almost been one year and I find it so much easier moving around, and I have started thinking about the future in new and interesting ways. I still have a long way to go, but I now hove my map and compass thanks to the work I have done with Luke. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

    I reached out to Luke six months ago wanting to get in shape & lose a bit of weight. I was also interested in the mental-health benefits of exercise. I’d always found exercising a chore in the past, and had never strength trained before. I wasn’t totally sure what I was getting myself in to, but I was curious to see what was possible! I’ve lost about 15kg since we started. I’ve learned how to train safely & effectively, and I feel stronger. I’ve also observed how regular training has helped my day-to-day mental health. With an important event on the horizon, my motivation has been high from the start. Luke has facilitated my goals, but also encouraged me focus on the big picture. We’ve talked a lot about my longer-term relationship with food & exercise. I’ve enjoyed his holistic approach. It was more than I’d expected when I first had the idea of hiring a personal trainer.     I have learnt to accept that lifestyle, especially mindset changes takes time. I no longer focus in fat/weight loss but concentrate on the habits that help me to achieve my goals. Luke has helped me to identify the negative/self defeating beliefs that sabotage my lifestyle goals. I no longer diet but eat healthily with a little bit of what I fancy in moderation.     My experience of working with Luke was fantastic start to finish. I’d set out a very clear ambition for myself to work on strength building and muscle gain following a significant weight loss journey. From the initial consultation it was clear that this would be unlike (and much better) than previous personal training I’d had in the past. The holistic approach beyond just diet and gym really sets GymHippie apart and was super helpful for integrating new habits into my lifestyle. Luke’s approach is friendly, engaging and above all encouraging. The appreciation for what’s going to be sustainable and ultimately become part of a lifestyle was very refreshing.     Ben was a big help redirecting my relationship with the gym. After Covid I needed some structure and to know how to re-start, and in our months working together he definitely helped in doing exactly that! It wasn't only the weekly hour spent at the gym, but the mentality for the rest of the time outside that. He was always helpful and knowledgeable, and found ways to be flexible towards what I wanted (even when work or life didn't make it easy). It was great to be supported in the "scarier" parts of the gym while also being challenged when needed. You feel supported also via whatsapp, social media, newsletters, and from the beginning they make you think WHY and WHAT you're working for long-term. And the way to address it in a mentally healthy way. That definitely stuck with me, in contrast with the overwhelming diet/fat-loss/quick muscle gain tips you can get lost in. I've always had a terrible time being consistent, but I'm proud I've kept the habit I built with Ben, going to the gym 3x a week, even after not working with him for a while. I hope to train together again when I can, but meanwhile I can enjoy the gym because I understand what I'm doing and why much better.

    I enlisted the help of gymhippie to help me to get fit and was expecting to be straight in the gym doing a workout. But actually going to the gym was one of the last things I did! Luke has a well thought out process which is holistic, psychologically minded and designed for lasting change. Way before we entered the gym, Luke and I had long discussions about my goals, nutrition, dealing with obstacles and setting a realistic and sustainable routine. In the few months since I started this process, I have lost over 10 kg, have learnt to eat healthy foods, altered my body shape, built muscle and most importantly have changed my mindset when it comes to exercise and nutrition. I cannot recommend Gymhippie highly enough. In the words of Nike, just do it!

    Luke is by far the best personal coach I’ve ever been with. He’s a thorough professional, very kind and understanding person. When I decided it was time to make some changes after crossing the three-figure mark, I started looking for a personal trainer and came across several of them; what made me choose Luke is his approach to the whole process. From the initial discussion itself I’ve realized Luke is the right coach for me! The initial questionnaire he shared made me introspect about what went wrong in my two earlier failed attempts at the gym to reduce weight. Soon I realized it’s not the weight I should reduce but the fat, and it’s not just about cutting down a few kilos in a short span but developing a healthy and sustainable lifestyle which is exactly what I was lacking. Through his journals and 1:1 chat, Luke has made me realize the mistakes I made earlier and set out a plan for how to improve and recover from the obstacles that one would face during the journey. I never understood the importance of calorie tracking and the importance of a balanced macro diet until I met Luke! The training approach was tailored to suit my requirements/body. In the initial sessions, he emphasized the importance of bracing and the use of proper techniques, which are the cornerstone to building sustainable and injury free training. The subtle changes he recommends to the posture, or the movement could do wonders; trust me on that! I’ve hit and knew the muscles which I never knew existed before. It’s been 5 months since I started training with Luke, and I’m standing at 88kilos, which is more than 14kilos from where I started! I feel more confident, and I could feel my strength has also increased considerably, all without starving or doing an insane amount of training.     I approached Luke over a year ago to help me identify an approach to fat-loss that could be integrated into my busy schedule. It was also during a time where I had experienced two bereavements. I was feeling low in energy & mood as well as physically sluggish and fatigued. I was pretty depressed. Luke's holistic approach has really helped me. He is attentive, considerate and realistic. He listens. After a thorough analysis of my needs, Luke designed a plan for me that felt attainable and integrated training alongside mindset change. At first I was worried that results appeared slow, but over time I’ve seen big changes in my body and behaviour. I am far more conscious now, and I don't beat myself when I hit bumps in the road. Instead, I am quicker to step back into who I want to be and I no longer let one derailment control the rest of week, month, year. I have the tools to feel in control, which means I don’t slip back into crash dieting as I did before. I have appreciated Luke's patience & non-judgemental approach. I have all the best intentions but consistency and continuity are not my strongest traits. Luke took the time to understand my strengths & weaknesses. He also doesn't give me a hard time for making excuses because life can suck. On the contrary, everything I do is celebrated. I don't feel like I am reaching my goals on my own, but instead I have someone who wants me to excel at taking care of myself.     Post COVID, I found myself working longer hours at work and felt time poor & short on headspace. My health & fitness took a back seat & my well-being suffered as a result.     A lot of people ask me if you need a coach / PT, my answer after the 1st training session with Luke is absolutely. Before joining GymHippies I had been to the gym loads of times between 1 - 6 months at a time on and off, with spotting partners / friends and on my own, lets just say I never really stuck to it because I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't have clear goals. With Luke as my coach I go to the gym regularly, I eat healthy, I feel stronger and I am a lot more positive even when I miss some of my weekly goals due to life's ups and downs. Luke focuses on gradual sustainable change rather than fad diets and has a holistic approach. Its funny but a lot of people have already commented that I look younger or that somethings different about me.

    I started training with Luke because I wanted to lose weight and get fit. His approach appealed to me since it was about changing my mindset around my nutrition and fitness. I has tried losing weight on my own through diets and found that I put it all back on in a couple of months. Luke has helped me to set realistic goals that focused on nutrition for weight loss and cardio and resistance for body shaping. This meant that I have been consistently losing weight since training with him, while feeling motivated enough to keep up with my other life goals. We definitely push it at the gym, however my programme is built on a foundation of good technique and whole body workouts. I previously had a habit on focusing on my upper body (like many men) and ignoring certain muscle groups. Luke’s programme fixed that. I am very pleased with the progress I have made since I started training and feel I have a great base to keep it going. I highly recommend Luke as a trainer to anyone who is looking to get results and is willing to put the time and effort into changing their mindset.     I am so glad that I got an opportunity to get trained with Luke. He is a true professional, knows his craft very well and is best in business. There are so many misconceptions around fat loss and building body strength and sometimes we blindly follow them. The fact is that there is science and logic behind everything and Luke gives clear logic and facts and provides a very good perspective of what’s right and wrong.     Luke is an absolute genius. He empowers you with the knowledge you need to succeed and is with you every step of the way. He is truly dedicated to his craft and genuinely cares about your wellbeing and helping you achieve your goals which sets him well apart from all PTs I’ve come across before or heard about. I honestly can’t recommend him enough, if you are serious about losing weight and getting into shape, you honestly won’t regret it.     After switching to home working and with the disruption caused by the events in the world at the time, I needed a new approach to training as my routine was up in the air. I looked around and found Luke online. I was interested in his detailed oriented approach and the use of Myers Briggs - something I had seen in my professional life but never thought I would see outside. From the outset it was evident Luke was a different class. There is what is perceived as a slow build up to the training but this is all part of a wider methodical approach. Luke takes the time to properly assess what type of training is required, building a base of understanding and providing a bespoke plan that works for the individual rather than the masses. The benefits definitely do pay off over time and this work is all a necessity to prevent injuries in the future and lay a solid foundation. Luke puts in the work so that once you stop training with him, you don't flip back to an old version of yourself, something that isn’t spoken about enough in this world. If you’re really willing to make a lasting change, Luke is the man to see.

    I originally came to GymHippie in search of some much-needed structure after lockdown. I have always been into exercising to feel good, but I simply didn’t know how to progress on my own. I also wanted some no frills advice on how I should approach my diet to build muscle and tone up, as the fitness scene is shrouded by misinformation. It's so hard to know where to look! After reading through reviews, GymHippie seemed like a trustworthy place to start. I have been coaching with Ben for a little while now, and I only have positive things to say about him! He works closely with me to ensure that the pace of change isn't too fast or too slow and is just right, especially as I can get quite anxious trying new things. I have seen results quickly, in my strength, form and body, and Ben made sure that the exercise progressions made sense to me and were within my capabilities. We constantly chip away at improving my form, something that Ben places lots of emphasis on, and worked around a difficult relationship with my diet to ensure I achieved my fitness goals sustainably, never compromising my mental health. Ben gives me so much confidence in my progress because unlike my exercise habits before coaching, there is no guesswork involved; there is always a plan of action with everything we do, inside and outside of the gym to make me the healthiest, happiest version of myself.

    I’ve been working with Luke for the last 4 months to achieve my health and fitness goals, and it’s been a very positive experience. I was looking for a personal trainer after an injury over a year ago while I was exercising, I’d been to a physio and chiropractor but I knew I needed to find someone who could help with making sure I trained correctly and also to build up my muscle tone and strength without further injury. I chose to work with Luke specifically because of the principles he uses to help embed life forming health habits which I want to sustain, and not a quick fix which becomes forgotten after a few months. Luke works with the mindset to help find your ‘why’ which is brilliant, before you dive into the physical work…from the on boarding 121 meeting to the communication, nutrition and workouts, he sets out a really clear pathway for you to follow, so no excuses not to do the work. I am forever recommending him to friends because he is excellent, very easy to talk to and get along with…the perfect coach 😊. If I could give him ten⭐️, I definitely would.

    I wanted a personal trainer to help me drop a few dress sizes & feel more confident in myself. Whilst I wasn’t new to fat loss or strength training, I’d always struggled to achieve the consistency required to sustain my progress. The story was always the same: make changes —> see progress —> get derailed. Looking back, it was “all or nothing”, and it was frustrating! I’d also lost confidence when it comes to training on my own, and I wanted to get this back. I reached out to Luke because of his track record, holistic approach, and emphasis on mindset.
