Overall, our experience at the hotel was positive. The location was great, offering a unique island atmosphere. However, we encountered unexpected challenges with quokkas being a bit too bold, rushing towards our room whenever we opened the sliding door. While we appreciate the island's remote nature, the water pressure in the shower was disappointingly low, presumably due to water-saving filters, impacting the overall comfort of our stay.

All I can say about this place is Heart Emoji. Without Samphire, Rottnest would be a quaint little island with lots of Quokkas (which are EVERYWHERE on the island, in a sort of rat-locust hybrid kinda vibe, but I digress) and an overabundance of weird yellow villas. WITH Samphire it’s transformed into a luxury getaway with beautiful views and delicious food. The rooms are cool (literally) and modern, though as ever in Australia the toilet doors have an air gap the size of Colorado allowing for perfusion of smells and sounds not becoming of such a lush venue. At this point I’m starting to believe the Aussies are into that, because it is the case everywhere. Again I digress. Staff are friendly and helpful, the pool is glorious (and only 20% filled with bogan housewives-of-Beverley-Perth characters counting up the number of sexual exploits the achieved on the family yacht) and the adjacent restaurants serve amazing food and my favourite champagne. Joking aside, this place was an oasis of bliss in a glorious paradise island. Hugely recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The beachside room was well worth the extra cost. Amazing location and the service from the staff was wonderful. Our bags magically arrived in our room from the ferry and were delivered back on the way home, the staff were really attentive and gave us access to the pool and samphire club until our ferry departed. All these little touches made the stay so relaxing and easy. The bar also makes the most enjoyable cocktails! Wish we could have stayed longer.

I’ve been lucky in the past to stay at Rotto in every accommodation type including sleeping on the boat and beating the heat in the camp ground. I’ve always loved the units however they were unavailable so my husband and I stayed here for his birthday and for the start of our honeymoon. I cannot believe how incredible our service was. We received an early check in, a room upgrade and were given a bottle of Prosecco. The room is incredible. The shower is the best I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve noted the type of bed as it’s so incredibly comfy and I want to buy it. I throughly enjoyed the beach club where you get free snacks. The pool is great and I recommend the daiquiri! We also went to Isola for dinner and they were so attentive and the food was the best on the island! I would stay again in a heartbeat. It was the best start to our honeymoon and we felt like royalty! I’ve never paid for a resort before but if that’s the service you receive, then I’ll be doing it again asap! Thank you Samphire!
