The rooms were very big but smelled not too good. Bed was nice tho. The location was OK. I mean it’s in the middle of nowhere but directly next to a road which I find weird. Also there are no places to eat nearby except for the restaurant in the hotel which isn’t good except for the meat which comes from the barbecue , especially the ostrich. The ostrich farm tour which can be booked via the hotel is very good and should you definitely experience. The guide is also the barbecue master and is an absolute legend. Than the ostrich in the room, the service. I guess you’ll either love it or hate it. For me it’s the latter. They are very energetic and hyped. Calling you by your first name added Mr or Mrs and hyping everything such as the cake during breakfast. That’s all fine and well but they often do this hype talking in stead of bringing food or drinks which I don’t find very productive. They make the same joke at every guest, which you hear 10 times if you are early at breakfast. Also most people who come here are Dutch which they speak (which is my native language) which is a bit eerie. It’s quite hard to explain.

This place is really beautiful, and the staff, Andre we are going to miss you, you made us feel so welcome and you showed us a part of who you truly are which we really appreciated, you don't get that in manager's these days, Andre is so warm and entertaining, there are many reasons why we would recommend this place to world but mainly because of the wonderful staff, Andre I cannot express enough how awesome you are, My Wife and I shared our 2nd wedding anniversary at Mooiplaas and we will definitely come back as long as you are still there though, lol And Superman John was really awesome and such a vibe and positive energy about him Thank you Ben the awesome and excellent tour guide. Exceptional rooms and awesome staff and the food oh the food was Devine. Thank you once again Mooiplaas

Terrible!!!!!! We woke up TWICE to the sound of an alarm at night on our christmas day and at 8AM on our boxing day. Answer of the manager on the phone: "I don't know what it was, maybe it was a bird". I had to instruct them to switch off the alarm. Absolutely unprofessional. I should have rather stayed at home.

How long can a review be? We spend a fabulous weekend there. Starting with Andre who was always smiling, ready and available whenever you needed. Superman John was friendly yet so professional,Ben is a fountain of knowledge as well as an excellent "braaier" Every staff member was friendly and considerate.

This must be one of the best places I stayed at. Warm, friendly, welcoming, accommodating and efficient from beginning to end. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The room was clean and it came with a separate kitchen area with a microwave oven and fridge. My son was happy there was a smart tv and we could use our own subscriptions. On the first morning the waiter (John) saw me reading outside at 7.30am and promptly brought me a fresh cup of coffee. He called me by name. He had practiced it before hand! I asked for an iron and the lady took my clothes to iron them herself. Service was exceptional. We required a halaal meal and they accommodated us with making our eggs separately to order. The pool was clean and amazing. An overall great and memorable experience. Highly recommend staying here when in Oudtshoorn.

Excellent service from extremely attentive staff. Super comfortable rooms. The restaurant was expensive though and there really isn’t any other options without driving into Oudtshoorn

Life style of an ostrich farm a great spot in the heart of the Klein Karoo. Excellent food.

The person serving guests at breakfast is very overbearing. Germans prefer their privacy at hotels and don't need "clowns" to entertain them. This person learnt so_ called german but doesn't understand the culture or mentality of German people. They laugh at him not because he thinks he's funny but because he's stupid.

Cant ask for better. Service from John is tops. His Superman John. His a work horse. Always a smile. Can speak broken German but he try. He goes out of his way to know everybodys names. What a man. You ho John. Dankie Viljee en Hanlie for a unforgetable experience. Swimmingpool is next level. 44 dagrees and bliss in pool with SA best wines or beer right there. Dont miss the best Oudshoorn can give you.

What a wonderful stay. The staff at Mooiplass are SUPERIOR! Superman John is truly a superman...everyday! The room was spacious, huge bathroom and we had everything we needed for self catering and what was not available was supplied to us by the staff. The pool is a real gem with such a special view and comfortable loungers make relaxing there for hours very easy. I highly recommend this Guest House if you are anywhere near Oudtshoorn, do yourself a favour and stay here! Carol was a real angel. I left something in the room. She found it for me and sent it to me in Pretoria in just a couple of days! Fantastic!

This place is wonderful. Mr. Marshall and Mr. John were also wonderful with the service provided. We wish we could spend one more night. The ostrich dinner option was amazing. I definitely would recommend this place to all. Pur friend took the ostrich farm tour and loved it. Thank you Mooiplaas!

Mooiplaas is a great place to spend your holidays. We were surprised by the kindness of the people and the beauty of this place. We would also like to thank you , Ben , for the great farm tour ! You did it with great commitment and big smile. We will keep an excellent memory back on our way home.

After traveling through the Karoo desert, Mooiplaas is a lovely oasis with a very inviting pool. The rooms are well appointed and great wifi 👏 👍

I loved staying at Mooiplaas. One of my favourite places I stayed at in South Africa. The staff is soooo nice! Especially the waiters in the morning and evening are most welcoming, respectful, friendly, etc, etc. They made us feel super welcome. The ostrich farm tour the Guest House offers is definitely worth it! You'll learn so much about the ostriches and it'll be in a small group. The tour guide knows so much and can answer all of your questions. I learned so much during the tour. I would choose this tour over a show farm any day. The guide will also be chef if you decide to have dinner at the guest house, which is pretty cool. The dinner is absolutely to die for! I have never had ostrich in my life and it tasted amazing. On the side were some lovely potatoes and veggies. The desserts were also very nice. Do eat here at least one night while you're staying at the guest house. The rooms are also very beautiful. Comfy beds and even a bath!

John welcomed us as acting manager and was most kind and helpfull. Rooms were very big and fine. There is a nice pool to use, good dinner & breakfast and nice staff. Tip: try the ostrich! Delicious meat.

We had such a lovely time at Mooiplaas, went for 2 nights and it was amazing. The staff is friendly and the place is very warm and welcoming. The view is beautiful and the nature around it puts your mind at peace. We had a ostrich tour and Ben the amazing guide made it so fun and informative. The superman John was extremely helpful during our stay and an amazing waiter. The staff at the place makes you so happy that you would definitely return.

This place was amazing. I took a group of 12 clients there as the last night of a 9 day tour. Everyone was blown away by the hospitality, the rooms, the food and the venue. John was our man who looked after us at Mooiplaas and he was just amazing. He made sure that we were sorted on everything we needed and was on it in a flash if you needed something. He is an absolute gem. This setting in the Little Karoo is just a must. Away from the noise of the city with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. WAVOLT Adventures will be back at Mooiplaas.

Gem in the Karoo with view towards Swartberg Mountains, friendly staff, open air breakfast dine next to pool and views to the Swartberg.Room have a kingsize bed is spacious with hot tub and shower, also mini kitchen with fridge and microwave kettle and small living room with tv .A/C throughout the accommodation and wide stoep with table and chairs to enjoy your sundowner.

Best service I have experienced in SA so far. The staff is friendly, observing and well trained. This is a 4-Star guest house that feels 5-star. The rooms were well presented and clean. The overall experience was phenomenal and I would highly recommend spending at least 3 days to fully enjoy all of the activities. Big thanks to Marshal for his friendly services he made our stay memorable for sure.

We went through our photo book from our trip to SA in 2012 and this place definitely holds the best memories. Andre was such a great host and added a whole new level to enthusiasm, service and entertainment. Looking forward to going back to SA and Mooiplaas gueshouse.
