We come here every Friday after a cold swim. They offer beer 🍺 on tap. Which is nicer than nice. And awesome selection of wine 🍷. We have light snacks or a pizza 🍕 to share. Love this place

I ordered a GLUTEN FREE meal, asked the waiter twice that there is no flour in the meal. He replied twice that there is no gluten in it and yet I got a normal bread. A big mistake form the waiter but the chef came to apologize and was very understanding of what had happened. More training on gluten free food, very very good customer service! Will still go again to give a second chance!

My favorite morning spot in Gardens. Bike friendly, great lunch take out meals and salads. Super welcoming staff. Excellent service every time! Yummy cakes, especially the speculos cake. Although I miss the turquoise building. Shame they had to repaint after the lawyers next door forced them to (doesn’t make sense) *update*: The vibrant turquoise facade was forced by their mean, Lawyer neighbors to be repainted into a less vibrant color. Still great coffee, pastries and wine tasting every Thursday at great value. Still five strong stars for excellent service

Interesting place. There’s a set menu for dinner each day (at least that’s what it seems) and it appears that the food is pre-made and then heated up, which doesn’t matter to me at all because it was really good. This means that our food came really quickly. There’s not much of a vibe or a view, but there’s beer and all kinds of other stuff, also great for takeaways.

Small, cozy cafe with very friendly staff and great coffee. In my opinion, they serve the best coffee in Gardens.

What a great little place with a lot of warmth and great coffee. There is such a good feeling as you walk through the door. You will be easily sidetracked by the delicious baked treats like lemon meringue or rye bread. Walk further and browse the ready cooked meals all perfectly packaged and then grab a tub of ice cream for later. The coffee is best enjoyed at the "bus stop". Support local! The entrance is not wheelchair friendly as there is a step up from the pavement.

Quirky little spot, with interesting selection of wines. We were just there for a drink. Staff were knowledgeable and keen to help, and atmosphere had a buzz.

Very warm cosy coffee shop especially for a winters day. I had a delicious red cappuccino (the coffee is the best too when you can take caffeine!). The spinach and feta quiche was a great lunch. The banana bread smelt amazing and looked to be very popular!!! Highly recommended 👌

Chose here because we got ignored at Peppertree. Public holiday and clearly understaffed. The guys were honestly trying their best but needed help. Barista was clearing tables and trying to take orders as well as make the coffees. The only other team member had to try be behind the bar as well as the floor and at 1130am it was too much. We never got water for our table or wifi we requested when we ordered. Saw customers leave after waiting a while at the counter. Saw food and drinks sat waiting to be run. Liked the menu, decor and setup but on a busy day they looked to struggle. Great area of Cape Town we love to visit regularly so hope to be back next time.

Traveling all the way from the United States we weren’t sure what to expect when it came to food, but we’re so glad we stumbled upon T/W! We visited this establishment for breakfast 5 of the 9 days we stayed in Cape Town - you could say we’re obsessed! Their croissant with mashed avo and poached egg is to die for, but really everything on their menu is fantastic. Friendly staff genuinely want you to enjoy your time there. Definitely will visit again during our next stay in Cape Town.

If you're ever in the mood for some truly delicious food, as well as some top-notch wine, Tamboerswinkel is the place for you. This deli and wine bar, located in the picturesque Tamboerskloof district of Cape Town, offers an extensive menu of both sweet and savory dishes, as well as a wide selection of wines from all over the world. But the real star of the show at Tamboerswinkel is the Lotus cheesecake. This rich and creamy dessert is simply heavenly, and is the perfect way to end a meal. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. In addition to their regular menu, Tamboerswinkel also offers wine tasting evenings on Thursday nights. These events are a great way to learn about different wines, and sample some of the deli's best dishes. I highly recommend checking it out if you can.

I haven't tried the food here, but the staff is very good, friendly, and professional. There are a lot of good wines here, but some of them are very rare. So in the evening, they gave good wines and perfect coffee in the morning. And always the best atmosphere and service. I need to try food here.

  • 5/5 Vimanyu B. 4 years ago on Google
This is one of the best places to go when you want a relaxed romantic atmosphere in the evening. The food is amazing - I had the salami platter and homemade sweet potato gnocchi and they did not disappoint at all. The wine bar is very extensive so you will surely find something to your liking. The staff is friendly and very helpful when you need some recommendations.

A Cape Town gem. They sell iconic Cape Town food and snacks (like Mama Bongi Cookies), make Rosetta coffee and are in a prime position to grab your morning coffee en route to work. Adore.

  • 5/5 Jason H. 6 years ago on Google
Very good food. It especially hit the spot after a day of hiking. They were all out of gnocchi, but didn’t hesitate to whip up a fresh batch for my wife. Only took 30 minutes. Near the top of Kloof Street, it’s a good place to start a pub crawl through Kloof and Bree st.

(Translated by Google) a super great wine place👍 great wines, we had a wonderful cheese and bacon plate with olives and toasted bread = very fine. Unfortunately, we were not so hungry, the prepared food smelled wonderful and sensational. unfortunately it was our last evening in Cape Town, we would have come back for sure.

Best place for your post-hike breakfast. Tamboers Winkel open at 07:00 which is very convenient for early risers. They never disappoint! Great service and amazing food.

  • 2/5 Chris M. 4 years ago on Google
Very sweet and lovely and the decor is nice, but in a city with as high coffee standard as we have, they can't compete. It's just not very good. Unfortunately I will not go back, it's not worth mediocre coffee. Maybe thier wine is better.

  • 5/5 Gouri B. 4 years ago on Google
What a delightful little place with wonderful staff, a small but lovely menu (with excellent vegan options), and warm vibe. An absolute favourite of mine is their Monday night pasta and glass of wine (or any other drink if like me you don't do alcohol). And, don't leave without trying the Farinata (a chickpea omelette) - it's an absolute must-have.
