I went here this morning for breakfast good coffee beautiful waitresses beautiful establishment! I did not get to eat here because I want to $21 for steak and eggs I’m not paying that! I don’t even care of your Ruth Chris steak House :-) nevertheless I had a great cup of coffee I also bought three bottles of their spices that they use that is homemade it is awesome!!! I’m gonna send it to North Carolina, Georgia and Florida my family‘s gonna love it I would recommend the place 100%. Brad

Southern Spice hits a grand slam with their Southern Hospitality! From the greetings you receive as you enter to the wait staff hustling the whole time! Such a delight getting true customer satisfaction with a meal as close to home cooking as possible, which is SO rare these days! They have daily specials that include one of their dessert options that may be Chocolate Cake, Lemon Cake, Bread Pudding, or something that'll surely satisfy your sweet tooth after a large serving. The specials are totally awesome as well as their Chicken and Sausage gumbo. And when you order a cup, be prepared for something larger than what the other places serve with very nice size chunks of chicken and sausage! Also LOVED they are not shy of having wait staff of all ages! One is the sweetest lady who comes by to make sure you are getting everything you need to help out since it does get busy, so ALWAYS go early or you may have a slight wait but they get food served quick and turn tables quick, without feeling rushed 1 bit! Love this place and highly recommend eating here to try a few of their specials each week!

The staff was very nice, we were seated very quickly. The food was good, I wasn't blown away by it, but it wasn't bad.

Southern Spice is my favorite breakfast spot! The service is impeccable and the food is consistently excellent! Our waitress today was Kaylee, (not sure of the spelling)she was excellent, providing the best service and plenty of smiles with her great personality!! I highly recommend breakfast at Southern Spice!!

This place was absolutely amazing! Food service cleanliness. We were from out of town and will come back if we are ever back over here.

Old fashion family restaurant, hostess greets you with a smile, very busy but seating is fast, Kaley was fantastic, very personable, knew about each item on menu. We had 2 hamburger steak specials, an entree salad with grilled chicken and an appetizers, 2 ice teas, and 1 water for less than $48. The hamburger steak is the best. The warm salad with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and grilled chicken was awesome. I despise cooked carrots, and their carrots taste almost like dessert. You need to try it to understand. Great portions are reasonably priced. Many restaurants after COVID increased prices with smaller portions, and Southern Spice is the exception. I am moving to Lake Charles from New Orleans, and Southern Spice is already my favorite.

One of my favorite restaurants. Food is always good, best of employees who make you feel welcome, and clean. Parking is sometimes difficult at lunch because everyone love it here.

It is not too often a restaurant exceeds my expectations today. We visited southern spice for a late lunch. This place is a simple example of perfection. The food is perfect, the service is perfect and the atmosphere is perfect. We were seated immediately, drinks ordered immediately and the food was out in ten minutes or less. I did not catch our waitresses name. She was knowledgeable and courteous. Restaurants do not have to be complicated. Southern spice has mastered simplicity and perfection.

Had a great lunch yesterday. Came back for breakfast this morning, were seated and left alone. I was very worried that the wife and I became invisible. The four dolls standing around did nothing to aid our coffee and breakfast craving. So we left after a solid 5 minutes of desertion. Customers lost for good. With respect the shrimp poboy the day prior was delicious.

Friendly staff, fast service and the biscuits were amazing! They were moist with a thin crunchy crust. We were visiting from Texas and got a local recommendation to eat here. Would highly suggest for good home cooking and family business.

It was my 2nd time there and it was just as enjoyable as the 1st time. Great place to have breakfast and they do it really good. Business lunch prices are reasonable lake charles little hidden gem.

Fantastic plate lunch with so much food that I had to take almost half of it home. Crowded, but service was fast and excellent. Pricing was under what you would expect for this type of meal.

Had the special. Beef tips and rice. Sides I chose were mac n cheese and green beans. It came with a roll and also a piece of cake for dessert. The food was really good. The roll was amazing. Highly recommend. Was busy. Parking lot was packed but we were seated in no time and in and out quickly.

Southern spice is the place to go for breakfast in Lake Charles. The staff is friendly and seating is usually fairly quick unless you have a larger party. They don't try too hard with extravagant dishes, they do southern comfort food and they do it extremely well. Their breakfast options are simple and too the point. Their bacon and their biscuits are a just try if you're there for breakfast. The plate lunches are home runs, giving the option for a smaller or larger portion of the daily offering. The beef tips are to die for, the fried pork chops are always on point.

Man, what a great breakfast steak. When I buy a breakfast steak at a diner, I usually regret it. This was NOT the case here. Cooked just right & full of flavor. A fresh biscuit & some tasty thick gravy, was a pleasure to eat as well. Wanna point out CLEAN A TOILET. During my travel that isn't always the case, so thank you for that. Add friendly service & some good grits, & all this will make me comeback upon my travels, 100%.

Catfish Louisiana is pretty good along with the grilled potatoes. But the shrimp and crab meat gumbo was just seasoned water and a few very small shrimp. Nothing else was in it.

Excellent food. Homemade. Wonderful people and a great price. I'm from Texas, but the next time I'm in Lake Charles, I will be stopping by this place.

Rated best place in Lake Charles for breakfast and I couldn't agree more! Friendly atmosphere!!! Highly recommend and can't wait to go back for lunch!
