When we arrived at the small museum, it was closed. We simply didn't know that we had to call city hall prior to a planned visit ... This was a bit frustrating. Cheers from Germany!

Fun visit!! It's a bit difficult to find, since the GPS gives you a different address, than the actual building. I'm not sure if they moved, or if it's just a glitch in the system. Go on one of their "Ghost Walks," if you can. Fun and interesting time.

Witches hat making was so much fun. Can't wait for some of their other upcoming events.

Went for a potion making glass as i was gifted the ticket by someone who was unable to attend and didnt want it to be wasted! Everyone was so helpful, friendly and welcoming! Supplies were included so you dont need to bring anything except maybe a water bottle/drink some ladies even had snacks! 🤣 The instructor Tyler was super clear in explaining everything and answered everyone’s questions so politely! Turns out he’s actually the museum curator, which was a wonderful surprise to find out that our cities curator is crafty and the one hosting these classes for the community! Highly recommend getting tickets in advance for witch hat class or potion making class as those sold out very quickly! Do the class, it was so fun, great time with friends or even a date night!

When you look around at all of the affordable areas to live, Wayne Michigan should come to mind. Beautifully built homes secure with a good school system. Affordable comes to mind that's not something that's normally thought about. I visited the Wayne historical museum and was shocked to see the depth that was going on with the group and the city that runs this. Wayne Michigan is done a great service to its citizens and it's something to be celebrated. I think they're right to put some great restaurants right in their downtown and move into the realm of the next Plymouth! It's going to take work it's going to sometimes be hard but I got to tell you it has all the makings of another Royal oak, MI. 😀 you got to see this today for its grit and its success and Future! It's a wonderful and very comfortable little museum. All of the people there with whom we interacted were wonderful. Do note that it is a little local history museum, a role it plays perfectly. It is not the DIA or Henry Ford. If that is what you want, there are plenty of options, but this place knows what it is and does it wonderfully.

We were treated in a very special way. We had made an appointment in advance since we were coming from out of state. My family and I were amazed at the information we were given. Copies were made of titles, records and pictures. It was a wonderful place to start searching deeper into Alexander McClaughry side of my family. He came over from Ireland, but don’t know where he lived in Ireland or from which port he departed or arrived here. Do plan to visit the historical society if you are interested in local history or genealogy .
