Disclosure:
This
is
a
long
review
with
a
laundry
list
of
items.
I've
stayed
at
many
properties
across
the
country
and
with
different
property
groups.
Anytime
I
have
arrived
early,
I
have
been
given
the
grace
to
check
in
early.
I
arrived
at
2:30.
I
could
not
check
in
as
my
room
was
not
cleaned.
That
is
no
big
deal
on
it's
own,
but
the
first
of
many
issues
I
had
throughout
my
1
night
stay.
My
room
was
not
ready
until
3:05.
Again,
not
a
problem
on
it's
own
but
more
to
come.
The
customer
service
level
of
the
staff
was
fine.
Despite
any
issues
I
had,
they
were
apologetic
or
understanding.
The
Front
desk
agent
the
working
the
night
shift
was
very
empathetic.
The
lobby
would
lead
you
to
believe
the
property
has
been
recently
renovated.
This
is
not
the
case.
While
the
lobby
is
contemporary,
the
room
is
very
dated.
From
the
90's
at
best.
No
smart
TV
for
streaming,
poor
finish
work
on
repairs
and
the
mattress
had
quite
a
wear
to
it.
It
had
a
convalescent
home
feel
to
it.
Coincidentally
enough,
I
observed
more
octogenarians
than
I
could
have
imagined
during
one
stay.
Remember
them
when
we
get
to
the
bit
about
the
elevators.
One
of
the
elevators
started
to
act
up
and
was
shut
down
shortly
after
my
arrival.
The
remaining
elevator
began
acting
up
as
well,
stopping
at
floors
that
were
not
called.
Twice
while
waiting
with
another
guest,
we
waited
so
long
that
I
grew
impatient
enough
to
trek
to
the
end
of
the
building
and
take
the
stairs
from
the
4th
floor.
Both
times
I
descended
faster
than
the
guest
I
had
left
at
the
elevator.
Shortly
after
that,
the
remaining
lift
was
out
of
service.
I
spent
the
remainder
of
my
stay
using
the
stairs.
I'm
fortunate
it
was
only
one
night
and
I
am
athletic.
I
needed
to
do
laundry.
The
washer
and
dryer
only
accepted
quarters.
I
inquired
at
the
front
desk.
Her
response
was
weird;
"only
if
you
have
money
to
trade
me."
I
have
to
imagine
she
deals
with
folks
who
think
they
can
charge
the
quarters
to
their
room...?
Or
something
to
that
effect.
She
did
not
in
fact
have
any
quarters.
I
was
directed
to
the
gas
station
and
told
"this
is
where
I
send
guests
when
we
don't
have
quarters."
I
was
told
I
could
walk
there
as
it
is
only
a
football
field
away.
The
roads/walkways
were
covered
in
ice,
so
I
decided
not
to
walk.
That
was
a
smart
decision,
as
the
store
is
in
reality
900
ft.
from
lobby
to
gas
station
entrance.
I
advised
the
gas
station
attendant
that
the
front
desk
said
if
I
bought
something
I
could
get
some
quarters.
He
asked
how
much
and
I
said
4
or
5
dollars.
His
response
was,
"wow,
that's
a
lot."
We
stood
at
each
other
in
silence
for
a
moment
before
I
responded,
"so...."
I
did
not
get
quarters.
My
mission
to
find
quarters
was
a
complete
adventure
ending
at
a
bowling
alley
that
required
the
emptying
of
my
personal
effects
and
passing
through
a
metal
detector
to
gain
entrance.
Upon
my
return,
I
took
the
stairs
back
to
my
room,
gathered
my
garment
bag
full
of
dirty
clothes
and
descended
back
down
the
stairs
to
get
soap
for
the
washer.
The
same
admittedly
lovely
young
lady
who
directed
me
to
get
quarters
asked
if
I
had
obtained
them.
Well,
miss,
as
a
matter
of
fact,
I
have
a
story
for
you.
She
thought
it
was
peculiar
that
the
gas
station
did
not
change
me
quarters
as
she
sends
people
their
"all
the
time"
with
an
emphasis
on
all.
Again,
I
again
want
to
emphasize
on
how
nice
she
was
in
all
our
interactions.
It
does
bother
me
that
management
does
not
ensure
there
are
quarters
in
the
till
on
such
a
regular
basis
that
the
desk
agents
send
guests
to
the
gas
station
"all
the
time'
for
change.
After
sharing
my
harrowing
adventure,
with
laundry
in
hand,
I
asked
if
I
could
get
some
soap.
Her
response
tickled
me.
"So,
you
need,
like,
hand
soap
or...body
wash?
No,
laundry
soap,
thank
you.
I'm
not
a
cheapskate.
In
fact,
this
is
a
business
trip
with
reimbursed
expenditures.
But
I
could
not
believe
that
I
had
to
buy
the
soap.
If
you
need
a
place
to
stay
West
of
Detroit
along
I-275,
I
don't
recommend
this
location.
It
was
certainly
far
above
a
Super
8
but
far
from
my
expectations
of
a
Hilton
property.
