If you are looking for a comfortable, relaxing stay surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, Foxtwood Cottages are hard to beat. We have stayed several times in all seasons and place just gets better and better. The setting is rustic but the accommodation modern, with comfortable beds, excellent showers and very well equipped kitchens. On this stay we enjoyed the new lakeside deck on a beautiful early summer afternoon. Our bread was readily consumed by the hundreds of new fish which have been recently introduced and we were entertained by the curious swan and ducks. Alison and Clive always take time for a chat and are happy to recommend local walks, activities, the best pubs and restaurants. In all respects, Foxtwood is a great choice for a countryside stay!

Fantastic accommodation and surroundings. If you have kids who like exploring it is idea (take their wellies!) and picnic tables, trampoline and climbing area. The lake was a lovely swim, 11 degrees. Don't be afraid of the swans they are just curious. If you are a swimmer, try in the dark (take a torch to place on top of where the ladders are) was great under the full moon. Kingfishers, flora and fauna in abundance. Highly recommend and am looking to come back to explore the canal side.

Clive and Alison were lovely and really friendly! The woodland and lake were beautiful! We visited in Autumn when the leaves were beautiful colours. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area with wood fire cooking. The cottage was modern and spotlessly clean. Many thanks!

Another fab weekend at Bottom Cottage celebrating two birthdays. We have been to Foxtwood on numerous occasions over the past 20 years and we are always impressed with the high quality accommodation in a beautiful setting. This time, even though the weather was against us we hired the newly available BBQ area as a surprise for our friends birthday. It was truly magical with log burner, rocking chairs, throws, lights and music. Thank you Clive and Alison you have come up trumps again! We hope to return again in the future.

Swimming in the lake was the highlight: about 14-15C, fed from a spring (also supplies the cottage), and there’s a 30m ‘lane’ where the weeds are mowed. Further afield, there’s a shallow clear paddling stream - perfect for kids. The cottage is right beside the narrow boat canals for easy walks for the sensible but plenty of climbs for the intrepid walker or cyclist as Foxtwood is in a steep valley. The bolt hole is very generously sized for two, with jacuzzi bath, and walk in shower, and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. And comfortable mattress on king-size frame. And private garden at the back. The quiet late summer season (after the school hols) was perfect retreat for us.

Fantastic location, rooms clean and tidy. Alison & Clive were very attentive, nothing too much trouble. The use of the BBQ area was great even though it was wet & windy, great view over looking the lake.

This was our second Christmas visit and it is the ideal location for our large family. Close enough to shops for stocking up but far enough away so you don't feel like city dwellers. The cottages are always clean and the owners welcoming and helpful. As we have hired all the available cottages some are more modernised than others. Would love to come back for a visit in summer.
