Maiden visit to K-Town BBQ for a birthday meal. There was a long queue outside and we waited about 1/2hr, looked forward to it. First impressions: the layout is spaced out, modern and functional. Service is good and they try to replace used plates and BBQ hotplates to avoid over-burning smoke from each table. On the flip side, our experience of the food isn't positive: Korean food selection was limited. Sushi lacked authenticity. BBQ was rather ordinary. In contrast, the prices were extraordinary @£25 per adult for what we thought was mediocre, fairly standard food. On top of that, the buffet layout and shared cutlery for dishing out food mean that this is potentially a hotbed for the spread of a certain virus. Overall, we think that there are better value and more distinctive BBQ offers out there in New Malden. Maybe we are missing something here; or perhaps we have dined at many other Korean and BBQ places. I left wondering what the long queues were really about.... 🤔

The food was actually quite to very fresh to my surprise. The all you can eat for 1.5 hrs was adequate and I love the no waste policy (an extra £10 each.) for wasting food. It was £31 per adult which is reasonable and you can have a great time with friends and family there. Great selection of food both hot and cold plus some Japanese delicacies. The staff were nice and kind too .

Whilst I was quite surprised and amazed with the concept of self-serve K-BBQ and the stringent rules such as extra charges on food waste age and extra time there, it is better value for money to come here if you are sharing a BBQ feast with friends and are splitting the costs. However with that being said, that really depends on your appetite and personal preferences. I had little portions of each dish I wanted including the BBQ meat and that all amounted to £33 which is the cost of an adult meal. They had a lot of what you would expect from a Korean restaurant, they did lack in a few bits such as the pickled radish. Besides this, the quality of meat was exceptional and marinated well and on a general note, food was fresh and tasted lovely. Staff were very attentive. If I were to come here again, I would definitely come here with friends.

While the atmosphere was nice, the manager kept singling out myself and my friend trying to push us along as we went about our meal. The time limit for the restaurant, 90 minutes, the bill was already laid on our table by 45 minutes in. There were times the other customers needed help and the manager was fixated on us and what we were eating instead of helping. The only redeeming quality was that the waitress checked on us twice. The food was pretty good portions and a personal downside to me was the spicy meats weren’t spicy unfortunately (more salty than anything). Please be aware of the wings as the 10 I picked, 4 of them were still cold and pink in the center. The other hot foods (kimchi pancakes, vegetable dumplings, fried rice, glass noodles) were all good.

We had lunch here on a Friday and had to wait about 25 minutes for a table. You can queue virtually by scanning a QR code. There were just two of us but we felt that 90 minutes of time was plenty to cook and eat the food. The sirloin, beef ribs and chicken were all nice but we felt the food was a bit salty. The hot food in the buffet was also very good and fresh and we enjoyed the chicken wings. Overall we enjoyed the food and thought it was good (but not great) value at £25 per person. If the marinades on the meat were less salty I would have given it 5 stars.

The BBQ is great and the staff is keen to help. The crystal noodles are super. Can improve with the fried chicken and the ice cream for sure there are other providers around. Good idea with the food waste policy... sometimes people gone mental with the quantities.

SOOO GOOD! Can't express how full I am with all good food and barbecue at K-Town. Came all the way from Whitechapel (1hour journey) was sooo worthy😍 Two of us literally had 4 rounds of barbecue with somak (soju+beer), reasonably priced. Can't ask for more! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and the owner of the restaurant was sooo kind. It's defo worth the travel and beat all the highly priced barbecue store in central London! Big SHOUTOUT to all of the staffs. They're amazing, kind and helpful! Great service with great food! It took us 1.5 hours to get a table (the queue was virtual, so we headed to a cafe nearby) it's all worth it

First time eating at K-Town BBQ restaurant in New Malden. Went on a Sunday, got there at 12.10 noon and we didn't need to queue. The man at reception was helpful to explain to us what was on offer for the £29/person buffet. The inbuilt table grill pan was easy to operate (power off/on & adjustable heating levels). Waiter frequently on hand to change the grill top so it is clean for the next batch of grilling. The cutleries included metal chopsticks, fork, knife & spoon. We did not know about the free tap water jugs (but saw them on other people's tables). We had Orange juice: £2 in a big glass with straw & unlimited fizzy drinks: £4 in a smaller glass with straw. All the different meat (pork, beef ribs, chicken, squid tentacles) were marinated very well. The white prawns were not king/jumbo size, just raw & unseasoned. A few different dipping sauces, pickles (yummy kimchi) & vegetables (edamame beans, salad) were also available. As with any buffet, we did feel rushed to eat it all quickly near the end of our 1.5hrs table slot as they begin to clear the table. Payment was easy with credit cards accepted (no table number, so not sure how they know which order was ours!). Would come again as still plenty of dishes we hadn't had time or stomach spaces to try! Toilets were clean (male and female separate, electric hand drier, hand wash & trolley with top unit for baby change available).

Normally I am a bit funny about eating at buffet style restaurants but K-Town BBQ was overall a great experience. There is a good selection of food that the chefs keep topping up through out your hour and half. The meat for BBQ which is the main pulling point tasted fresh and I really enjoyed the cuts of steak. I would recommend arriving just before it opens in order to make the most out of your trip otherwise you may find yourself waiting in a fairly long line. The BBQ cooking plate is cleaned by staff. There is a wide selection of other foods aside from the BBQ such as chicken wings , noodles , rice , pork , sushi , dumplings and a little salad bar.

I have been to this place many times, never fail me once. 33GBP per person, it’s a fair price for Korean bbq buffet. The most amazing thing is, you can have prawn tempura here, as many as you want. The tempura is up to Japanese restaurant level. I come to this place mainly for it. Haha. The pork belly is nice too. I have tried couple of Korean bbq restaurants before. I can confirm that this one has the best pork belly. Go, pay them money and eat. No worries you won’t regret.

This place is genuinely amazing. Would highly recommend. They don't skimp on the meat and it tastes so good! I would gladly eat here every day. Sadly it's always packed with people with a decent sized queue. There's also no booking system which is a shame

Overall, this is a good place for having BBQ. Although I am not sure if it is real traditional korean style, there were koreans sitting next to us so it might be quite authentic! All you can eat for £29 seems to be like a fair price to me, since you have a good (average) choice of meat, but only shrimp and squid as seafood. Plus all the side dishes you can think of, some were better than others but in a buffet that is not surprising. The stuff came to change us the plate where to cook the meat a couple of times, which was nice. I would like to come back again, unless I find something similar closer to the centre.

It’s a fun experience. Would I go again? Probably not. But am I glad I went? Yes. They have a selection of marinated meats for you to barbecue at your table and an array of cooked foods for you to have as starters and accompaniments. The problem I found was the quality of the meats were not great. The steak chewy, the prawns small and not deveined. At £31pp you do expect a wider variety and at a better quality.

Really good concept, the raw food is nicely seasoned but additional seasoning like garlic, chilli oil, salt & pepper etc is provided for things like the squid or prawns. Be sure not to turn the temperature up too high at 1st to allow time for things like the steak and pork belly to cook through. The atmosphere was nice, a little intimate but busy. You can store your coat under your seat to refrain from it smelling smokey. The service was ok, I think considering its a buffet they just let you crack on but overall we had a good time and enjoyed the Korean flavours!

Had lunch here today, honestly food was good it was fresh and tasty. You gotta be really hungry to enjoy it. You have 1 and half hour to eat and no left over otherwise they will charge you. The reason why I only gave 3 stars is one of our kids are still enjoying her ice cream for dessert and one of the staff tried to take it from her while she’s still holding the bowl. Take note we still have 10mins left before we finish. Our kid tried to eat it as fast as she can because she thought we have to go until she got a brain freeze. We understand that you are rushing for the next costumer, but please let us finish our time and food first. I have no complaint about the food, but the experience from the staff is not acceptable especially how you treated the kid as if there’s no parents around.

Great self serve kbbq if you’re looking for the ‘buffet’ type. The meats are fresh and some even marinated, with a wide selection of pre cooked meats and side dishes. I didn’t have dessert as I was too full enjoying the main course. The air is a bit more smokey than other kbbq chains but that is due to the large amount of grills available, I can imagine on a quieter day it would be much better. Staff are polite and attentive. No problems, Thank you ~

I was here yesterday and what can i say other than one of the best experience in a restaurant i could have had. I read the reviews prior to my arrival and worried but how wrong i was. We felt very welcome there. Selection of foods were limited but quality over quantity !! Grills were changed 4 times within 1 hour we were there. For some reasons, £80 were dropped from my pocket and guess what the honest staff picked it up and gave it back to me. To top it all up, they also gave a birthday girl cakes and candle to blow it, its the thought that count. Sure, it got more expensive over time and all restaurants are the same.

Decent pricing for the quality of food (spent £25 p.p) There is a wide selection of foods on offer. I went at 9pm, before closing time, and there were not many people there. Had a great time. Would recommend the fried chicken 😀 🐔

Absolutely amazing Korean all you can eat. Great food, great service and a good choice of food which you can cook yourself at the table. It was worth every penny we spent.

We went for the first time and it was a great experience! The BBQ buffet was great, with both marinated and plain meat, squid and prawns. There were some cooked food as well, such as chicken, beef, sushi and glass noodles. Staff were nice and frequently changed the BBQ plate. It was a bit odd that lettuce was charged separately, considering it’s not something expensive and should be covered in the £31/33. There was a small salad bar. We went for lunch in a weekday and there was no queue.

the quality of meat was okay, and the food on the counter was not bad. (if you are not familiar with Korean food japchae and pancakes would be worth trying) kimchi and fried chicken were a bit of disappointment. the servers were attentive and cleaned the bbq plate at the right timing. but 90 mins time limit is too short to enjoy a meal, especially when you have to grill it yourself!

I arrived 10 min early and already there was a queue - (always proof of a good place! ) The staff were so polite and very kind and helpful even moving tables for us to arrange into a better way for my guests and explaining to them how to use everything. My Guest from Italy, who are true food lovers and critics were trying Korean bbq for the first time! They Loved it and we all agreed we will come again! Great Place not even 1 min walk from the station, great staff, great food and great experience !!

Great South Corean restaurant. Unfortunately has a long queue and the waiting time is around 1h. Best to do is to go early and scan the qr code untill we get a message to come to the restaurant to seat. Plenty of food and drinks. staff is polite and always make sure place is clean and all food available.

We came on a weekend, so the price was £33 pp. I mean the food tasted good, the side dishes were tasty, but £33 to cook your own meat? I don’t know. It’s part of the experience which makes its novel. But if I’m paying a hefty price I would expect a vast range of other food options i.e dessert. The desert options were three flavours of ice cream: strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. And it tasted artificial. And though icE CrEaM isn’t the main attraction here, if the price is that steep, then a range of deserts and side dishes should be provided. Also you have to pay an additional price for lettuce? um … ye no So it was fun, food was tasty. But for all the money they’re gathering, I would invest in a better selection of deserts and include lettuce in the price. Because really … lettuce is just lettuce. let’s be for real

I opted for the buffet at K-Town BBQ. The food was all very tasty, but sadly, not hot enough and I thought the price was rather expensive. I liked that the food was not greasy, and as mentioned, quite flavorful, but the fact that it wasn't hot was a real negative for me.

My 3rd times to go K town, the food still good but the price is big rises in short. As I remember I came here around 1 year ago and the price was around 24 gbp but now is 33 gbp. I may not go again in short if the price keep going up in the future.

Great value for London. It was only £93 for 3 people including a service charge. There are so many sides including miso soup with fresh tofu! I especially liked the octopus and cheese corn and my friend liked the marinated beef. Well worth the money.

Been a minute I was in one of these and decided to check this place out. Seems a popular spot for the city of New Malden as the inside was packed and the wait time for the next available table was 60 minutes. You have to go to the reception to scan the code for the reservation. The slots are timed as you have 1.5 hours to eat or so we were told. They do sanitise the tables and change the heating plates when it starts to smoke. The fees for adults are standard £29 and kids 10-15 is £1.5 x their age, and £1 and their age for kids below 10. There’s unlimited fizzy drinks for £4 and varied pricing for other items on the menu. The food was good, the meats were mostly soft although the gizzards were tough

Strong Korean vibe but staffs were rude It started with everything prepaid. We had to pay for our night first. Prices were reasonable. The food was alright. Meats looked like those things you could buy in Costco. Everything looked like Korean styles but some tasted like Indian food. K-town also offered a sushi bar. However, options were limited. Staffs’ attitude was really bad. Receptionist blamed people in the queue not using their online queuing system, while there were not enough instructions on how to enter the system. Some people queued for hours but the receptionist just couldn’t find their names in the system and refused to help as well. Everyone has 90 minutes to eat. When we were almost finishing our session, one of the staffs came and asked us, “How can you finish this in 2 minutes? I’m gonna charge you extra £10 per person if you cannot get out in 5 minutes.” There were no reminders about how much time left and they just asked you to leave promptly. They even shut down your pot remotely to force you to stop. It’s totally unnecessary. They could have reminded us how much time we had instead of shouting at us. Our experience was good before the last 5 minutes. We are sure that we won’t come again and won’t recommend this to our community because of the bad attitudes of staffs. It’s not worth to pay for the blame. Overall: not recommended
