We give this hotel 5 solid stars. I can't say enough good things about Sea Shore Motel. The owners/management and staff are outstanding and respond quickly to your needs. They have beach gear you can borrow for a day at the beach. Don't let the modest price push you away, you can have a centrally located room with just as much comfort as nearby rooms for 2 to 3 times the price. The room is quiet and comfortable. The beds are decent. The water pressure in the shower is the best. The parking is secure and free. They are perfectly located between Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach, while only a couple blocks walk to the beach. Great restaurant choices you can walk to. Tour bus stop is 2 blocks down the street at the visitor center. Also, we met a future MLB MVP who offered some great tips for local eats and fun. We had a blast and will definitely go back again for next vacation.

This place is nice. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants, bars, sights and sounds to see around the area. The owners are kind, the rooms, although dated, are very charming and bring you back a couple decades. Very clean, perfectly air conditioned, nice hot water for showers. We were in a suite so we had the stove/oven, dishwasher, sink, microwave, toaster etc. We were able to ask the front desk for towels for the beach and they even offered foldable chairs if we needed. There is onsite laundry as well as paid laundry nearby which I found extremely convenient on our 2 week journey from Canada. (Only brought 7 days worth of clothes.) Liquor store within 30 second walk. Bars within 2 minute walks. I love this area and I would recommend this motel, yes, a MOTEL, to other visitors. Also, the little dog at the front desk is cute and chatty. Make sure to pet him/her.

We had a great 3 day break at the Sea Shore. Room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. The team of people at the motel were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is great, a lovely & lively vibe, yes there is a bit of noise on Saturday evening but best to get out there and join in the fun, with a great selection of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. Really good value for money too.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sea Shore Motel. The place is older, but the rooms were very clean --you can walk barefoot on the tile floor and not get dirty feet. It's a great location and we really liked the atmosphere. And don't forget, there's free parking, which is kind of a big deal.

Cute hotel, walking distance to everything. Extremely clean with THE best shower (strong hot waterflow) we've had in a place away from home! Bus stop close by made for easy transportation when we didn't want to take the car (shout out to Santa Monica Brewery!). Cleaning staff are busy all day keeping things tidy, whether cleaning rooms or sweeping the walkways. We stayed during the week, so it was quiet, but got the impression that the club across the street is loud on the weekends since there is a sign at the front office to call the Santa Monica Police with noise complaints (since the hotel can't control the club across the street). Only complaint is our own fault - we booked a room with two full size beds and should have gotten a room with a king or queen. Otherwise, it was comfortable.

Well appointed rooms and great service. The free parking is a huge win in this area. Clean and no frills set up with good water pressure and comfortable beds. Rooms are sound insulated from loud surroundings

We recently stayed for 2 nights at the Sea Shore Motel and enjoyed our stay. Highlight was definitely Akira the super star dog (Tom was ok too ๐Ÿ˜€). We had opted to stay in the economy room (#C) as we knew we only needed a bed. This was a small room but met our needs. The motel is in a great spot, could probably do with some type of renovations as the room was dated. Room C was fine for a short stay, it was clean but a little worn and surprisingly quiet. Motel has free parking which was a bonus. Cheap and good value accomodation for a short stay. We would stay again if we were visiting Santa Monica. For the Aussies Tom (manager) likes Tim Tams.

I am sorry to say I never got to stay at this hotel. Maybe it is nice. They did however charge me $371 for a room that we never used and we cancelled 3 days in advance. We are seniors on a fixed income and live from social security checks. This is a great deal of money for us to be robbed of. We had a medical emergency and contacted the front desk of the hotel and were told we needed to cancel with Hotel.com since we booked through them. The desk clerk also told us they would have no trouble rebooking the room. We proceeded to contact Hotel.com and were assured that they would work with the hotel and get our money refunded. We also had paid more for a refundable room. In the meantime I contacted our credit card who said we needed a receipt and we needed to contact the Sea Shore Motel. We were never issued a receipt as we never stayed there. I did contact them and I requested one when we were charged for the room and never received it. I have reached out to Sonia at the hotel and she says it is Hotel.com fault. She said they didn't contact them in time. I reminded her I had called her establishment first. So what seems to be happening is nobody is taking responsibiilty and I am being made to pay for a room we cancelled in time and we never used. I honestly feel I've been robbed. Another scam on seniors. I informed the hotel they should not work with Hotel.com anymore if this is the result. If you look up Hotel.com you will note their poor ratings and how they have scammed so many seniors. So sad. But in honesty I think the Hotel should own up and pay us back. It was not our fault that they weren't contacted by Hotel.com. They must have got their wires crossed too as Sonia said they left someone to help us with a late check in and we never arrived. We had already told both places we weren't coming and in plenty of time. So I think that the hotel has just decided to cover themselves and obviously they don't care about their guests. So I would never stay there or tell anyone else to. We now have $50 to live on til the end of the month. The hotel should be ashamed. We were robbed

Location is good, but on the other hand only 1 star. There is to much noise practicaly all night! You can hear everything from theother rooms.

Like many other reviewers, we found the SeaShore charming! It has a great location to the beach, Santa Monica Pier, and many restaurants and shops. We stayed two nights with no issues, thanks to Tom (the loveliest host) & Akira (the super adorable 'guard dog'). We did not experience much noise, though did hear the room above us walking about when they checked in. Not enough to keep us up at night. The shower does have plenty of hot water and great pressure. There is parking, though limited. The rooms have a mini fridge and the lobby had a microwave to use (though we were offered a room microwave which we declined). A little perspective...it is a two-star hotel in a fairly expensive area, and we couldn't be more pleased with the cleanliness, service, and hospitality. We highly recommend this gem and would definitely return.

Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet our expectations. The main building looks inviting, however, our apartment was located in the neighboring building, which is accessible via a staircase directly from the street. The apartment was unfortunately not well maintained and the floor was relatively dirty (when walking barefoot you got dark soles). We wanted to stay longer, but after one night we looked for another hotel. At least the reception was very accommodating and has completely refunded us the other nights.

I've stayed here every Christmas for quite a few years (over a decade) and it is something I look forward to, still, to this day, every year. It is family owned and affordable lodging in an amazing location. It is a few minutes walk to the beach and lots of interesting cafes and coffee shops along Main Street. While it is nice to come out and see my family, who live in Santa Monica, during the holiday season, it is hard to beat the experience of staying at the SeaShore motel and exploring the local area. Thanks to the family ownership of this establishment for keeping such a great locally-owned lodging option open for folks - it delights me ever year!

Lovely stay in the suites. On a main drag across from the Victorian restaurant so it can be loud with traffic and party goers in the evenings but we loved being in the middle of the action and enjoyed our stay

Really reasonable price for the location which is right by some great restaurants, walkable to beach a couple blocks away, right by public yransport of those big blue busses that can take you to Westwood or UCLA! Rooms are clean! Nice Terra cotta tile floors! Free parking! Conveniently located near car rental if needed! I am most impressed by the price! It's such a great deal and such a surprise can find such a great place for the price close to beach!

Gem. Great little motel, with even better service and location. I am a Hilton Diamond, and Marriot Titanium Elite. Not saying same experience as these hotels, but for a local, center city motel, easy category 5 star. Outside cute. Rooms need a little updating, light fixtures, hard furniture, but value and rest outweighs. Able to park a large SUV in their lot, and then walk to beach (5min), pier (20min), and Venice (20min).

We stayed for one night and it was great. A good location. It was very clean and neat, it's a cute little place. The beds are very firm but we all slept great. It's affordable and is a great stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier are in walking distance. Lots of nice restaurants and shops around the motel. Especially liked the Cafe!

This motel is a great place to stay! We are return guests. Its really close to the beach. Maybe a 5 min walk. The rooms are all tile - no carpet, so you dont have to deal with sand in the carpet. Highly recommend.

The motel was adorable! Clean, with a mini fridge and freezer, beds were comfortable, and the water pressure was fantastic. There isn't a safe in the room, but the location is safe enough that I didn't feel anxious about leaving anything in the room. The staff was very sweet, and if you're lucky enough you might get to meet Akira, the resident dog there. The room and experience was wonderful, but im not gonna lie - for that dog alone I would've given a 10,000/10 rating even if it was half as good as it was. Thanks guys!

I absolutely love this motel. The vibe is retro, the rooms are basic but super clean, the staff is extremely friendly and the location canโ€™t be beat. Oh, and the best part? Parking included! Also awesome that they have a cafรฉ/espresso place right on site. Definitely going back!

Motel was perfectly fine. Biggest plus is the location for sure; very walkable. Bed was a little hard, but thatโ€™s a personal preference. Good water pressure if thatโ€™s your thing. Think the main thing worth noting is the noise on Saturday nights at a nearby bar. Management looks to be aware, but itโ€™s obviously out of their control. Just something to keep in mind if youโ€™re here on a Saturday night.
